I enjoyed the movie but I thought the scenes with the family and Mrs. Chen made the pacing uneven plus I did not understand why we needed Mrs. Chen at all in this movie (but I love her character and the actress). Also, in the first film so many people were incompatible but with the symbionts and yet in this film any random person could bond with them.

@Temple_Settings Good call! It did lack consistency with the other two films. The films had different directors, but the one who directed this one helped write all 3. I enjoyed it, but it was far from a perfect movie. Thanks for the comment!

This movie was ASS at best! If it was meant to be a comedy, it succeeded brilliantly. This was a passion project of the director for his daughter because the movie was built around coincidences and no proper narrative. I mean, seriously, that ending... WHAHAHAHAHA hilarious... I miss the Josh Hartnett from '30 Days of Night' and 'Penny Dreadful'. This movie was terrible on all fronts. By also letting us know from the jump who the "bad guy" was, it took out a lot of the steam for people even wanting to watch. M. Night Shyamalan is brilliant but often inconsistent-great sometimes and really bad when bad. I'd give it an MMR 4 outta 10. Keep flippin' them gears, SIS!

What's good!? 👋👋👋👋 My take, not only as an actual movie and film director, screenwriter, and a nerd of the first hour, but as a movie buff from the depths of the abyss I occasionally call my soul... I think the 4D made it a long ride... but the story is so bland it hurt. It's just asinine that you're making a movie in the "Spider-Verse" without Spider-Man. And really, this is a symbiote that eats people... how are you making this PG-13? Tom Hardy is the only person that carried this movie. The jokes were bland. The disjointed storytelling and lack of urgency... I mean, the world is coming to an end and they have time to dance to ABBA (I love ABBA, by the way). I do reviews as well on TikTok. I think my reviews are a bit more blunt, especially because I'm a comic book head. The movie made no sense. Knull is close to an Omega Level villain, and they just shoved him in the movie without his proper backstory. The PS3 special effects of the character models and Venom... There was no improvement on the special effects for over 4 years?! Nah, this was Sony being cheap, trying to get this as a tax write-off before the end of the year!!! The kid actor was bland. The hippies that were inserted into the movie to support the narrative were an addition only suited to entertain if you were a kid, because they were more of a hindrance than anything else-"stupid aliens" :( It was a no. Sorry, from a movie point of view... Like I said in my review, if you liked the first two, you might enjoy this one! But nah, sis, this was not it. The post-production work was terrible; the reshoots were not continuous. This is the Spider-Verse, not in the MCU, and Marvel will not be running with the Spider-Verse for a while. Kraven the Hunter is going to be the last movie in the Spider-Verse for a while. Nice you got some merch for it, but this movie was really subpar, and I think you really enjoyed it more because the 4D kept you engaged. Because, honestly, would you go see this movie again... in a normal theater... be honest!! Whahahah, just my take. I'm waiting for your review on "The Red One." Keep flipping them gears!!! By the way, when I start getting my numbers up, maybe we can do a review side by side or online... just putting it out there!!

@deamonghod I'll check you out on tik tok. I probably should have done a spoiler review of this one. Was Knull not similar to Steppenwolf who was similar to Darkseid? I feel like the writers need to come up with more original villains. I love Tom Hardy, so I might would've like it without 4dx, but good call, I don't want to go back. Lol Yes, let's do a collab in the future! Thanks for the love! 😁

@@midwesternmoviereviewer I enjoyed this movie, by josh Hartnett's acting. The film does not focus on Cooper's daily life. In the first minutes before knowing the trap, act normally then when the game of cat and mouse begins, like a psychopath, he enjoys the situation and gives it that ironic or sarcastic when the serial killer behaves strangely pretending to be good guy, this is intentional by the director, remembers that his profile is that he does not panics easily When he grabs the girl who is fainting, he is completely normal and charming (that's how he is in his normal life). Some parts are explained, such as the physical characteristics of the suspects from a security video near one of the streets where a body had been left ( cooper listen woki toki). 4 or 5 different types of men, one with his description 40 year old white man with a tattoo of animal on his hand. …. It’s about domestic abuse???? Like in the warning signs of it in the main character is an unreliable narrator like I’m 35 so I can recognize these signs and already knew that this writer was trash because she essentially glorifies abuse in her books and should be writing fanfiction, but this isn’t romantic this is a cautionary tale.

@crinklescat1871 I think this is why Blake Lively is in hot water right now. She's focusing on the romantic elements of the film instead of the deeper, more important message. Having been in an emotionally abusive relationship at one time, I can admit that there were romantic moments or else it wouldn't have been difficult to leave. The film did a great job of showing the different sides of these kinds of relationships. I haven't read the book yet, so I can't speak to that. Thank you for your comment. I enjoyed the movie. What I liked was Josh Hartnett and his great performance. He can be cool, calm and collect. Plus, being creepy. His daughter Riley was good. The chemistry between dad and daughter worked for me. I thought there was thrills and excitement throughout the movie. The concert scenes were fun. What I didn't like was it is predictable with a little bit of surprises. I do have to say that it is more of a gripe because I had fun watching this movie. M. Night using his daughter as the singer waa fine, but the problem is that they use her more than they needed to be. Some scenes dragged so badly, it hurts the pacing of it.

I agree with all of your points and found the movie just as frustrating and unbelievable in so many ways. At one point I even said out loud (not on purpose) "oh come on now" in how he got out of limo and propped up some gear to fool everyone. The pacing during the concert scenes felt off and things only started to improve (marginally) once they finally left. I agree, there was little suspense or feelings of someone being in danger until the scene with his wife. I thought he was going to kill Jody’s mother. Now that would have been at least a bit interesting.

@Temple_Settings Me too! If he had attacked someone besides the cop it would've seemed slightly dangerous.
