M. Night Shyamalan's Trap Twist Revealed in Trailer | Can You Guess the Twist? Trap is an upcoming American psychological thriller film directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan. The film stars Josh Hartnett as a serial killer who attends a concert with his daughter who realizes the police have targeted him in the venue. Trap is scheduled to be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 9, 2024.

I think one of the major concerns of confusion is that if people are looking for the butcher - why can't they identify what he looks like? Is it possible that the guy in the home security footage, who is shown as a victim - is deemed as the butcher, and people are looking for him - Maybe Josh Hartnett's character make the police think the butcher is this guy.
Also, could it be that Josh's character used to be a police officer or FBI agent or some kind of security guard - and thus, knows the ins and outs of security?
Also, maybe, if Josh's character is a retired police or FBI member, he managed to have a double life. One, where he worked to fight against crime, and the other, where he had a persona of being a murderer - and also managed to cover up evidence and make an innocent person appear guilty all along.
Maybe Dr. Grant is the only person who knows the truth - she is probably Josh's character's psychiatrist, and trhough the sessions, discovers that he is the actual murderer - and that he probably told her, that he is taking his daughter to a concert - which proably triggers him to switch on a motivation to butcher people. As to why, I don't know, but maybe it is a "switch" or trigger that spurs his killer instincts.
Dr. Grant probably tells the FBI and officials, which makes them want her on their team as a lead supervisor? And, maybe when Josh Hartnett's character finds out she is after him, he will pursue Dr. Grant and try to end her - so he can't be caught.
The clip showing Josh's character walking through the FBI / police staff casually - means probably, that the FBI must really think it is someone else - and that is probably why Josh's character is able to walk freely, because every evidence either falsely assumes it is someone else.
Or, maybe that person who Josh's character has victimised - was the one who probably killed his wife, or someone close, and he is out to seek revenge.
Probably, Josh's character gets caught wish suspicion by various witnesses - and due to that, he has to kill them, and the number increases throughout - and it leads to one point where Raven witnesses something, and becomes the major victim in the end?
The only logic in which Josh's character is able to walk freely - really boils down to - mistaken identity - and only Dr. Grant knows - that all along, someone else has been acussed, falsely, and is trapped by the real killer, so he can do his work.
You don't mention the character played by legendary British actress Hayley Mills. She pops up a couple of times in the trailer, standing with the Police. She's almost 80, so too old to be a police officer, so possibly an expert? A psychiatrist maybe? She's credited as Dr Grant. Is she his shrink? She famously starred in the original version of The Parent Trap. Is that a hint that Josh actually plays twins rather than your split personality suggestion? Great breakdown. I'm really stumped and looking forward to this!
I mentioned her in my breakdown for trailer 1. Her appearance added nothing to this second trailer, so decided not to add to it.
@@WolfmansGotNards oh, did you? I must've forgotten about that. I need to rewatch the original breakdown again. Her brief voiceover here intrigued me. Probably a very important character despite limited appearances in the trailers .. I'm still wavering over the daughter is dead theory despite it looking like she's having interaction with others here ... I wonder how many scenes from these trailers don't appear in the final movie 😭
Well, that's also a good point. Some of her interaction scenes might not make the final cut. Meaning there's still potential for a Bruce Willis moment!

The interaction between Josh's character and the guy with the cornrows feels very off that is why I would not be surprised if its one of them as dead or not
That's exactly what me and my mum have just been talking about. The way they announce themselves to each other, corn row guy knowing and freely disclosing all of that info to a stranger, the look on their faces, particularly Josh's "I couldn't look any more guilty if I tried". There is a probably a good reason that this sequence is so unbelievable and over the top, and I can't wait to see it.

@Model_Roe I just watched a tv spot where Cooper's daughter tells him he's acting really weird, and it's shot in such a way that she stands out from the background, and the contrast is obvious.
I wonder if he a FBI profile and he can see the future and he try to see how the killer would get out because the killer has sent a video of man in basement and give them a time limit to find him

What if that's not really his daughter. What if she had tour tickets and she was actually one of his victims? What if they are traking him down because of the ticket seats or sections. Maybe he is killing off victims and taking their concert seats. All I know is that the pop singer has something to do with it and maybe the girl who is suppose to be his daughter could just be one of his victims, and she could be a ghost.
Or maybe Lady Raven is the butcher and she killed his daughter so he threatened to kill her. That would be a really big twist.
She calls him dad several times. He even leaves her on her own. She has every chance to escape if that were the case.
There even seen wearing friendship bracelets in the overhead shot of them eating pretzels

@@WolfmansGotNards of course hey thank you for your great vids but opening my eyes to so many different things idk if you caught this at all but in one of the trailers you can see a scene where the daughter is trynna run to someone gets stopped by a Swat Officer who’s vest says Phila Swat which makes no sense considering this stop of the tour is Canada so I think this has something to do with the glass universe

This is to add to (Josh Harnett's character) what if he /like you said/ might be obsessed with Lady Raven so much so that the guy on his phone is Lady Raven's boyfriend.
He captures the boyfriend and some how the man stops at nothing just to confess his love to her. (Hence why his shirt is off) Maybe he kidnapped her.

Ok guys , POSSIBLE SPOILERS! here me out i gotta theory, not really it's just speculation but its old with a twist i added
Before that, though do you guys know about one way mirrors? Basically a room where in the middle is a mirror dividing them, but one side has a light bulb that's open which makes the mirror a mirror, well the other side's light bulb is closed so the mirror acts like a window instead. I mentioned this because it actually has something to do with the twist. It's from a lot of theorists so it's not really mine but I kinda did look into the trailers and thought of how I can speculate through their scenes.
Now i believe that Cooper and The Butcher are two separate actual people, meaning Josh is going full Us mode on his role, being playing two characters. Here's some "stuff" i came up with.
1.) Josh isn't acting "weird" or is he? - I feel as though instead of a split personality thats overtaking Cooper making him out of control, rather Cooper is tracking down the butcher. There are scenes that show Cooper helping others while also messing with the equipment. I think The Butcher's the one messing around, Cooper grabbing the walkie talkie is just him trying to track the killer down and try to do what he doesn't want. To negotiate with the forces because it feels like he doesn't want them involved at all!
There are TV spots where Cooper's actually a father of two kids, That made me think the speculation is confusing but who knows, maybe the butcher is a stalker with a tie with Cooper. I feel as though probably they both sense each other's actions. With having simlar outfits and the trackers on their phones
2.) M night's films are color coded. In films like the Eastraill 177? Universe starting with Unbreakable, the main characters have a certain color. David Dunn/Overseer is Green, Kevin/The Horde is Yellow and Elijah Price/Mr Glass is Purple. I think this movie's messing with Red and Blue. In the first trailer we see what looks like Cooper asking someone what's going on before entering the bathroom revealing something "sinister" about him. I think these are two interconnected scenes meant to look like one characters insane but it's actually two characters trying to hunt each other down. The scene before Cooper enters the bathroom has blue hues. With a light blue room and Jamie's shirt being blue. The restroom has red doors and tje concert has red and blue hues. If you check Josh's outfit, you'll see bits of red and blue within the coat beneath his brown coat. It could be that Cooper in the Jamie scene is trying to get his daughter back from the imposter who's holding people hostage and making her the next target alongside people at the concert. When Cooper apologizes then bumps into an armed man, it's could be that he's pissed that the impostor is trying to do something bad to her at his own time. He talked to a guard as if he's giving intel meaning he didn't want the police involved but he has no choice but to help them. What I'm saying is, The good guy might be surrounded by blue while the bad guy's red. Classical but if that's the twist, prob genius to keep the suspense.
3.) Cameo - There's an actor I think she plays Dr Grant? She starred in the Movie "Parent Trap" similar name. That could be a hint of this but well it might not be. Daniel Kaluuya returned in Nope and people think that movie's a sequel to "Get Out" which he also starred in but the possibilities are endless.
4.) the mirror scene - Now back to the mirror thing, there's a shot in the trailer that Josh is leaning on a glass pane and we see an alter ego type shot. Could be a psycho scene stuff but what if, this is an actual scene of two dudes. Cooper from the right side is probably hopeless and filled with anguish and The Butcher smiled at his success ready to do what he's gonna do. Cooper might have been arrested by the troops by The Butcher framing him cause they're look alikes. The plot hole is that the police might be confused on which is js which and that leads to two stuff. A shot of the trailer of Cooper holding his daughter as kf they're trying to escape someone and a shot from a tv spot where Josh is at a car while his family is in front of him. It could be that the daughter is confused and exhausted while The Butcher frames Cooper as the killer. Though they're confused. The bad guy wins for now. He lets Cooper rot in the interrogation room while he roams free causing havoc and ready to destroy hus family causing some of them except the daughter to think the dad's gone wild. Feel free to add more if you think there's a plot hole haha
There's more, not entirely theory, just pure speculation i made to give the theory a Shakespearean twist.
If that were the case. It might be that It either takes place in Unbreakable and Cooper and The Butcher are actually twins. Cooper is an undercover vigilante no one knows about but The butcher is infamous. The butcher not only resents Cooper but also holds a grudge as if he was harmed by him. It could be that the two of them developed an ability that made them track down certain people on or before a crime happens, something like daredevil or heigtened senses. Similarly David Dunn who develops super strength, Kevin Wendell Crumb who has a personality capable of animal-like power like a feral Dinosaur and Elijah price who despite his fragile body has a superhuman mind got those abilities due to their traumas as children. The twins developed this abilities when they were young and withesses their dysfunctional family abuse their other siblings and failing to protect them. As a result this happens. But Cooper senses that The Butcher could go on an abusive relationship with someone he relates with, prob due to being abused as well. Because of that Cooper took the love of The butcher's life away causing resentment and planning years of revenge. When He couldn't help himself, wanting to protect others because he never felt protected long ago. Now he's on a manhunt to stop his look alike twin from sabotaging his own family and possibly kill more lives out of mania. The cops from the film cannot be the clover org cause they're prob exposed by the end of Glass. I never watched the Film so feel free to correct ne but I saw recaps but hey
