Yeah you’re dead on about the current concert culture and etiquette lol. Love how we got those shots of the crowd. Sidebar, I saw blink-182 last month. Got 2 shorts videos and enjoyed the rest of the show, sang and yelled the entire time 😅
I’d give it a 3/5 it was okay, some of the script was weak in dialogue but I do like how the character is kinda unpredictable to a point seemed like a threat imo
Despite my issues with the logic in this movie, I had a lot of fun with Trap (2024) & I give it a 7/10. M. Night Shyamalan is certainly a director who knows how to grab your attention with his movies and I respect him for that.
I liked it better than you but I can understand why someone wouldn’t dig it. I think we’re getting a new killer universe of some type it feels like. Unsure what he’s doing next but that ending gave me that vibe.
I've been suspending disbelief with Night for the last 25 years. You can only hang in for so long when the dialogue doesn't improve. Not giving my money to a concert movie for his daughter.
Teen Family friendly thriller, i think the trailer should have been shorter and no spoilers would have made it a better experience. Of course you have to take it with a pinch of salt with what happens (police, singer giing with him, etc)
Not that it makes it any better but letting him get away was part of the point. They planned on him making it home, but the reason why is never explained.
i thought the beginning was good like the stuff at the concert but once they got to the house and so on then it went down hill from there if like it had so much potential. it would be funnt if he framed the other girls mom lol
‘Bonkers’ is the word, Austin-well said. I’m fine with this M. Night mode of thrillers that get 70% of the way there and then jump the shark. I was simultaneously aghast at the logic leaps in the second half while also enjoying the intensity of ‘where-the-heck-is-this-going!?’ With Shyamalan these days, one doesn’t simply suspend disbelief-one denies disbelief 😅 Still, for a fun, ‘bonkers’ time at the theater, count me in. Also: ‘Unbreakable’ is his most rewatchable movie. So good-I love that movie.
I feel like the concept of the movie interesting idea. But I feel like the movie just kept cutting back to saleka character to much instead of focusing on the main character
In fact with Cooper's silent confrontation with his arms crossed, Lady Ravent's openness and her message of "forgiveness" before performing the song Release suggested that they would get to know each other better)
Truly, I mean this, I think if M Night as a director can kind of move away from doing the things that he’s known to do in his films. It might make him better off telling more cohesive stories, especially stories like this one that are a little bit more original. In an interview, he talked about how the next movie he’s making is completely different than anything he’s done before and I hope I can see some of that in that movie.
Call me crazy but the 2nd half of this movie pushed from liking it to loving it. Parts of it were absolutely ridiculous for sure but other parts really had my heart pounding. Hartnett was so good. Loving this Hartnett-aissance he’s having.
Austin, allow me to fix this movie: • Hartnett takes his daughter to the concert, because it’s important to keep up appearances. • Little does he know that someone he abducted long ago, who managed to escape, spots him at the concert. She remembers him! How can she forget. It’s got to be him-the monster!! She calls the FBI agent in charge of the case, and a bunch of law enforcement officers head to the arena to trap him. It will be one of the costliest miscalculations in law enforcement history-an unforgettable blunder that very few will forgive. • Hartnett’s serial killer instincts start warning him. It triggers his cold killer mode, turning him into a figure like Agent 47, The Hitman. During the concert, he uses his stealth serial killer abilities to brutally but quietly kill anyone he needs to in order to escape. Nobody notices him because he’s like Agent 47, and he disposes of bodies effortlessly. It’s bloody and brutal. He quietly slays civilians and cops, not giving a damn. It’s a bloodbath, and it is fun to watch him swiftly but meticulously work. He’s almost-almost-a supernatural monster. The entire horrific incidents in the arena would later be known to the world as “Bloodbath at the Lady Raven Concert.” The evening’s chaotic and fiery end will claim countless-and that’s just from the stampede. • Fast forward to the final act of the movie, where Hartnett is eventually cornered by the FBI agent in charge. But, dun, dun, dun, his daughter’s a killer too! Like father, like daughter. She kills the FBI agent, and they walk calmly into the night-to kill again another day. • The last scene: they are having pizza with the obnoxious mom and her bratty daughters. Hartnett and his daughter give each other sly looks. Yep, they’re going to kill them later! TRAP The end. Credits. Awesome movie.
Seeing how many people keep coming up with better endings and twists, that would have made this movie infinitely better, is quite crazy. How did m . Night mess this up so bad? The concept was there... Hartnett was there ... But a decent pay off? Nope not there. Anyhow, love these suggestions 👍
When trying to understand that last act and how the 1st half seemed "over the top", consider the others in the Shamaylon universe: Unbreakable, Glass, and Split. This explains why the character was very "escapable".
This movie was really good in my opinion. Very intense and edge of your seat kind of movie. And Saleka (M Night’s daughter) is so talented and beautiful. She is amazing in this!
I had a lot of fun with this movie. It has its problems, but I thought it was a good time. Josh Hartnett is incredible and carries the film. There are a lot of moments of his daughter singing, but I thought the music was actually very good and serviced the story well.
I liked seeing Josh Hartnett back on the silver screen again. His performance was great. The chemistry between dad and daughter was good. The daughter was good too. There's thrills and excitement throughout the movie. Story and script was pretty good. I didn't like that it was predictable. That's more of a gripe because I was having a fun time. M. Night's daughter was good as the singer Lady Raven, but she was in the movie to long for me.
I tend to watch new M Night movies as they tend to be fun enough buy his writing so often has glaring issues to me. I feel like he could benefit from wroking more with co writers to hone his ideas in.
People on X whining about it. Instead of ripping them a new one (like I should), I’m simply removing it from my vids to do away with the madness. But I definitely will not stop scoring movies that way! They can eat it 😂
See one can say that, but until they’re actually in those shoes, it’s hard to understand. I’m just not giving them the ammunition to complain anymore. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all a bunch of spoiled brats, but I just need to eliminate unnecessary stress because my life is full of it, and I have blood pressure issues haha. My daughter needs me to stay healthy!
The twist of this movie was trapping its audience into sitting through an hour long concert from his daughter. I did enjoy the movie because it was very easy to watch. However there were way too many plot holes throughout. Shyamalan should direct other’s peoples scripts. I hated liking this movie and I’m sure there will be a prequel and/or sequel and/or shown that the butcher is in the Split universe because he seems to have superhuman strength at certain parts of the movie.
The amount of music was fine by me. Had to feel like he kept going back to his seat, staying for a bit, then leaving again to think about the next possible way he could escape. Otherwise, it would seem like he was always away from his daughter. Also, the concert setting would’ve only been a small portion of the film of the music wasn’t part of it. Kind of like an hour of a movie that would take place at a ball game, you would have to feature the game throughout the movie.
Josh wasn’t 2-3 steps ahead, everyone else was complete morons. Nothing made sense. The idea that you will arrest a man you have zero idea who he is, where he sits, and what he looks like is super dumb.
NOO, DON'T LET THE IDIOTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA STOP YOU FROM PUTTING ALL YOUR DIFFERENT SCORES. Those were interesting to see which parts u liked and disliked on the scale.
I dont know what movie were u watching, but even thou the second half went into a different direction and not as strong as the first half but how was it laughable or cartoonish?
The second half was amazing, I was tense the entire time. I was squirming in my seat, I loved how it just kept going and ramping up the stakes. A bit crazy and goofy? Sure, but I didn’t care
I’m done with M. Night. Seriously, I hope he doesn’t make another movie. The only way I’d even consider watching is if it scores 90% on Rotten Tomatoes-which I highly doubt will ever happen.
M Night has forgotten how to make a movie anywhere near the quality of Sixth Sense or Signs. Just disappointed again. This was a shameless promotion for his daughter who by the way is a good singer. A concert movie is the best it gets.
He doesn't need to use the same techniques that have already been used in his movies 20 years ago, he focuses on the strangeness and unusualness in creating tension.
Josh Harnett is incredible in this movie, he’s worth the price of admission alone he’s so good
We definitely need a Shyamalan tier list from Austin
👀👀👀👀
@AustinBurke if u do one, don't spoil the twists please. I'll use ur vid to judge where I should start with M night movies
Got you. I’ll give warnings and time codes if I do.
Josh Hartnett is so charismatic in this movie, that it's easy to root for him, despite him being the clear baddie.
Haha good point
his superpower!)
What you said about the daughter in the third act I totally agree with. She gave a great performance but her presence was sorely missed at the end.
This was one hell of a followup to Inside Out 2. I think Riley gained quite a few new emotions after the events of this film 😅
How does this not have more likes?! It’s hilarious.
Yes I saw her as inside out Riley too 😂
The post credit scene was the best 😂
Absolutely hilarious. I almost missed it!
@@AustinBurke lol. Its great 😂. Also are you gonna make an updated X-men film ranking with Deadpool out?
There was a post credit scene after the mid credits scene?!😮
@@LV426-y4c you know what I meant lol
I don’t even care I’ll watch ANYTHING with Josh Hartnett
I think we can't look at it as hey the twist was given away knowing killer, I believe he did this movie with a sequel plan!
The second half of this movie was AWFUL. You hit the nail on the head with how dumb the FBI and cops were.
Yeah you’re dead on about the current concert culture and etiquette lol. Love how we got those shots of the crowd. Sidebar, I saw blink-182 last month. Got 2 shorts videos and enjoyed the rest of the show, sang and yelled the entire time 😅
Heck yeah, my last concert gave me two short vids and hundreds of memories!!!
I’d give it a 3/5 it was okay, some of the script was weak in dialogue but I do like how the character is kinda unpredictable to a point seemed like a threat imo
There’s only 3 guarantees in life death taxes and a m night movie falling apart in the last act.
😂
So ridiculous. LOVED IT
Despite my issues with the logic in this movie, I had a lot of fun with Trap (2024) & I give it a 7/10. M. Night Shyamalan is certainly a director who knows how to grab your attention with his movies and I respect him for that.
i LOVE the second half. it just never ended. it felt like were in a trap with each “final act”
That's what grabbed me too. I was hooked for a long time.
I saw the movie earlier today and I thought it was really good. My only complaint is I thought it should have been rated R
Another fantastic video! thank you Austin!
Where is Rebel Moon directors cut? It’s basically 6 hrs total good for a full season.
Teen Family friendly thriller, i think the trailer should have been shorter and no spoilers would have made it a better experience. Of course you have to take it with a pinch of salt with what happens (police, singer giing with him, etc)
Well, the Director's Cut of Rebel Moon informed us that no matter which version we watch it's awful so... yay I guess.
Austin , you got Parent Trapped with Hayley Mills. Not too shabby.
Not that it makes it any better but letting him get away was part of the point. They planned on him making it home, but the reason why is never explained.
Maybe it's a Shutter Island concept and they wanted him to have his needed revelation, but it doesn't work.
i thought the beginning was good like the stuff at the concert but once they got to the house and so on then it went down hill from there if like it had so much potential. it would be funnt if he framed the other girls mom lol
Escape Man is his supervillain name
There may be some truth in it. Think of the others in the Shaymalan universe: Unbreakable, Glass, and Split.
cool name!))
My expectations for Shyamalan are non existent which made this movie a pleasant surprise.
‘Bonkers’ is the word, Austin-well said.

This movie likely is a burning trainwreck without Hartnett. Loved his performance.

Yes, Hartnett is amazing!
Scoring system is waaaay better without the categories
Trap is okay.
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Josh Hartnett never disappoints.
I watched it on Thursday I really enjoyed the movie
Austin, allow me to fix this movie:

THIS MOVIE IS WORTH SIX CENTS WITH INFLATION!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I think you should review the Rebel moon director’s cut. Because I’m just curious about how far they go ?
Saw it yesterday and loved it .
I've watched it twice already. Hartnett kills in it!)
So many people are hating on this movie, I loved it??? Like idk it was a fun watch
Right?! It was a fun watch.
They nitpick every single detail, people totally forgot how to have fun.
Only the first half was good
What a twisty twistity twisted twister is this?!
When trying to understand that last act and how the 1st half seemed "over the top", consider the others in the Shamaylon universe: Unbreakable, Glass, and Split. This explains why the character was very "escapable".

Yes, this is a more entertaining thriller with PG-13 rating for the whole family.
Completely agree with this review.
Nice video! I got a question - why’d you take away the stats or whatever on your scorecard? The /10s
