I had to have like a 40 minute discussion with my straight friends what are the sexualities and that I’m demisexual and demiromantic and sometimes one of my straight friend will just randomly be like your gay and im like no I’m demihetero so I’m attracted to the opposite gender but only after an emotional connection and shes like your still gay
WHAT AM I. AM I PAN? AM I DEMI? You know what, SCREW IT, I'M A SEMI-PAN-DEMI-BI-GAY-A-UNICORN OF MAGIC. Edit: I GOT ME SELF A HOT TRANS DATE. just a random update for ya Edit: Wow ok this was two years ago I did some digging for fitting labels and rn I think I’m novioromantic Cupiosexual girlflux but that basically means I’ve never made a single decision in my whole life and never will
I use to be so confused over if I was bisexual or straight. Because I didn’t know how I thought about dating the same gender. But then I kinda fell for this girl and decided I’m bisexual. And it makes me so happy that I can give a name to how I feel.
Rachelcookie321 right now I think I like someone the same gender but I also like the opposite gender. I just dont want to come out till I fully know if I'm bi
🤯 Learning I’m old enough to be your grandfather (or maybe even great-grandfather) but am learning a lot from your videos. Deeply appreciate your maturity & creativity. Also learning a lot about good relationship from what you & Grace post. Keep up the great work. Thanks!
It always warms my heart seeing someone who gets it. Thank you for this video! I feel like labels can be important to some people and that's ok. Personally, I'm a trans woman who's only ever really been attracted to men and frankly I'm often challenged on alll of those labels but at the end of the day, I just am.
You are a MOST delightful person! I love your video. (give me a moment to clear my laughter at my own jokes).. I feel like I've just been bum rushed in a Toronto subway and at the end of this video my pockets full of love are turned inside out..shes gone AND I'm smiling. I'm just trying to say thank you sweetheart (don't mis interpret my terms of endearment) You are precious for your work in explaining. I think I'll stand in this subway spot again with my pockets full. Peace, (thanks Kat Blaque for the post) lol this was great.
Hope y'all liked learning about some under/misrepresented identities! What are some labels you identify with? I'm a cis gendered, androgynous, pan/bi/multisexual, fluid, homoflexible romantic, woman. You? :)
I honestly haven't got a clue. I had myself under lesbian but this confused me so much I don't know. Aaah. Thank you though for these words of lgbt... Wisdom.
I am a cis gendered, typically feminine, pansexual, panromantic female!! pan is a label I've only really taken on for a few months now but i love it and its definitely right for me :) good job, ashley, can't wait for part 2!!
I'm pan like if you accept me Edit: I had no clue I commented this no clue why to the people that thought it was for likes I can assure it wasn't but wow did I blow up
I love the fact that she did the difference between bi and pan and why you'd want to be one over the other, I am a pansexual female that when someone asks I tell them I'm bi so I don't have to explain it but if we become good friends, I tell them I'm pan and I also relate with the term demiguy in the fact that I feel more connected to the male gender but not enough to identify as male
Dasia Zientek I never knew demiguy was a thing O.O I Understand now... I always wear guy clothes and I like my hair short... and I love it when people mix me up as a guy! I'm not saying I'm a demiguy but I might be...!
I am amazed with this video. I am going to research everything you just talked about because I want to be as aware as I possibly can be. As for you, Ashley you amaze me with every video and youtube is a bajillion times better with you in it! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, love, and acceptance, and fighting the good fight :)))
Thanks about the Bisexual thing at the beginning of being excluded sometimes I’m Bi and it sucks because everyone says we’re “confused” and “fake” and “seeking attention” It sometimes makes me feel like I don’t belong and that I’m not wanted in the LGBTQ+ community Of course not all people are like that, but there’s quite a few who are So just thank you 💗
I'm pansexual, and proud. To add on what she said in the video, pansexuals often judge on personality, not gender or looks :) thank you for this video!
I came out as bisexual before I knew what pan was... I got really confused (in still trying to figure out) I'm scared to come out if I'm pan because my other friend came out as pan and im scared everyone will think I'm trying to copy her....
I'm lesbian, I have another friend who is also lesbian, another friend who is gay, another friend who is pan, another friend who is bi, and another friend who is ace. All my friends are different but I love them all just the way they are! We are unique in good ways! 😆😆😆
gay girl, a girl who is funny, playful, basically natural with their looks/ not always with the makeup, a person who'll be there for me and let me be there for them- a person who is beautiful on the inside, and happy/ kind on the outside. 😊 What about yourself?
Rainbowtwinkle 2000 nice. I like a girl who is shy but less around me, funny and that has a dark sense of humour, sassy/sarcastic, playful but knows when to be serious, nice/Kind, And cute/adorable
Pansexual 🏳️🌈 and proud (see what i did there) nobody understands it if I got a pound every time I've explained jeez I'm richest person in the world!! PANS DO NOT LIKE PANS
also some other sexualities: lithsexual - one who feels sexual attraction but doesn't want it reciprocated cinsexual - opposite of demisexual, one who feels sexual attraction easily abrosexual - one who's sexual orientation changes fluidly autochorissexual - one who feels sexual attraction, but doesn't wish to partake in anything sexual cupiosexual - one who does not experience sexual attraction, but wants a sexual relationship fratsexual - one who feels sexual attraction to those who they do not know well, but it fades after getting to know the person recipsexual - one who experiences sexual attraction after realizing somebody is attracted to them
Burried Alive Abrosexual is like saying I have a shirt which I'd the colour blurb because the colour blurb changes all the time. Well, it's sometimes blue, sometimes green and sometimes red. Therefore, my shirt isn't red, it's fucking green, blue or red. You can be gay, then bi, but in that case you're one or the other, not fucking ambrosexual. The rest just seem like you're using a completely different definition of the word sexuality to the one us sane people use.
I'm not attracted to gender, I am attracted to physicality, physiology, and personality, henceforth I identify as bi because there exists two physicalities that I am attracted to.
Thank you for including aro-ace people! I identify as such and no, I really don't care about kisses or sex. But, cuddle me and I'll platonically love you forever. Important to remember: there are also aro-allosexual people! People who experience no romantic attraction but DO experience sexual attraction. And there is also gray(a)sexual! It is a bit broader than demi, which is very specific identity. Gray just means "Welp, I don't feel quite ace but not quite allo either" So comfortably in the middle!
***** Demi = "I experience sexual attraction once I have formed a close emotional bond." Gray = "I mostly do not experience sexual attraction but it is possible on very rare occasions." You can be both I think (imo) = "I am mostly asexual unless I have formed a very close emotional bond with someone"
Exactly! Graysexuals feel too little sexual attraction to be an allosexual (non-asexual) but too much to identify as asexual. Just see it as asexual being the black color and allosexual the white color and if you mingle it, it becomes gray! It's a spectrum and every graysexual can experience their sexuality differently. Also a very important note about demisexuals: there is a difference between acting and attraction. A lot of people spit on demi's because "Eueheuhe not everyone has sex on their first date stop being a special snowflake." You may feel sexual attraction to someone from the start, but you don't /act/ upon it because you want to wait or want to get to know the person better first. However, demisexuals don't feel this attraction yet. They may for example, go on dates and feel romantic attraction, but only AFTER a deep connection they may experience sexual attraction. This is very different from waiting till you act upon your sexual attraction, because of insert reason! Also, -sexual can be replaced with -romantic but I think that goes without saying. I hope this helped! :)
Thanks, that makes sense :) I think demi-sexual and demi-romantic fit me then. This might sound an odd question, but do (some) asexuals still experience sexual feelings, just not actually directed towards someone? Or would that be something different?
About people finding bisexual transphobic. Its just like saying Being gay when you are a guy is disrespectful towards women. You can't CHOOSE who you love. So if BIsexual people are only attracted to cismen and ciswomen it's not transphobic.
yeah it was pissing me off, you don’t have to be pan to be attracted to trans people like wtf?? in a way isn’t that transphobic? Like sure, you can have preferences, but I’m bi and I have plenty of crushes on trans people, because if someone’s FtM or MtF they’re still a male and a girl, it doesn’t matter hat they’re trans, I see a FtM person as a male and a MtF as a female
wvwvwvwv that’s fine that you’re not attracted to them, but I’m just saying, that as a bi person, I am only attracted to girls and boys, I include trans people in the boys and girls/males and females, section
I used to be so confused about what I should be "called" for lack of better words. I had attraction to everyone, but only emotionally and romantically. Thank you for this, it really helped me understand myself better.
Yeah, I only found out about heteroflexibility last december, so for a whole year I thought I was pan, but the label felt wrong. When I finally saw the term I was like "yes yes, I found it! I'm that!!" and I was so happy. It's awesome that you talked about. It's kinda simple, as the definition you used, but not many people know about it.
I’m Ded it’s ok you will eventually relive it and get your confusion sorted out just remember no matter what at least one person is in the same boat...gah I hate being the mushy and inspirational one😵😅😂
pacify my carousel I’ve been thinking for a while about me being pan and I think I am I mean I had a crush a best friend who is really nice (even though it was a mini crush) he is really nice and I kinda know he is gay (or bi definitely not straight lol) and he is the best and I thought I was bi but I do think I’m pan but a part of me is like what if I’m straight cuz I never really have had a crush on a girl at my school but I am attracted to girls who are kind but idk lol
I personally identify as both. I'm technically bisexual (attracted to my own and other genders) and panromantic (romantically attracted to somebody regardless of their gender/gender identity)
Im asexual and still trying to figure out my exact romantic. I think it is panromantic, but i lean more towards feminine looking people than masculine...
I'm demisexual panro, and I never saw someone explain (including myself) explain so well the whole sexual spectrum! Also I've seen myself involved in fights or been attacked by people who doesn't accept non-binary genders, which implies that they consider pansexuality transphobic,or straight up erase it,and now I'll have this video at hand to show them and try to make them understand,so thank you for taking your time and make a video talking about this very important subject :)
I was in almost the exact same boat! Except for me, I fell in love with a trans girl. I ended up doing more research and now I don't even "include" trans people in my personal definition because to me they are the gender that they identify as.
I think my most annoying thing I go through is the fact that I'm pansexual and when someone finds out they have no idea what is means so I have to explain what it means about once a week. Another thing is that I am pansexual but mostly like guys and have had a few crushes on girls and non-binary people. So people are always saying stuff like this. "Oh, so you're straight." "No." "But you have a boyfriend. Are you bisexual?" "No actually, I'm pansexual." "What does that mean?" 🤦♀️ Ugh. It's so annoying. I sent a link to this video to people I know NEED TO KNOW THIS. Cause I'm tired of people thinking there's only straight, bisexual, and gay/lesbian.
Lemon Boi sounds relatable but idk if I’m pan i think I am if anything like I for sure like men and I have feelings for women I guess just not as strong as men I guess lol but I don’t think I’m bi because I’m attracted to kind people with bubbly personalities who are funny and make me happy wether they are a friend or a cush so I think I’m pan but this will take me a while to figure out and I don’t know how to tell my parents it’s makes me scared even though I know they will support me.
When my friend came out as pan, some people didn’t know what it meant. His other friend told them that it means that he likes boys girls and everyone in between. Best explanation ever.
Also Pan includes those who don't have genders or are genderfluid... at least I think so. AUGH!!! Why do we even USE labels?! Why can't I just say "I'll date anyone that is human but won't get freaky with anyone." and be DONE
I'm a pan-demi-romantic (that's possible right?) I feel like asexuals, demisexuals, pan-s, queers, omni-s, lots of sexualities are unrepresented. Society has the mindset that there's just homosexual and heterosexual, but there's so much more. Most people think there's only two genders. We need to be more educated and open-minded. This is the first of your videos I've watched, and this is AWESOME. I've always wanted to be able to find something in the media that represents everyone, is educated and educates the audience, and is willing to share their opinions. Here it is. Thank you. *subscribes*
I think you missed gray asexuals. This is when you usually don't feel sexual attraction to but sometimes you do. This is NOT the same as demisexuality because to be gray asexual you don't necessarily have to have a strong emotional bond to be sexually attracted to someone.
This is pretty much how my dad reacted to me coming out as pansexual "Dad Im pansexual" ... "STAY AWAY FROM MY FRYING PANS!" Best reaction I could have hoped for XD
Oh, gosh. When she finishes up with the sexualities, I was here thinking, "Wow, this explains really nicely to my friends, Glad I don't have to explain sexualities. But.. what about romantic preferences?" Then she read my mind and started talking about it. (smiles internally)
Yumeirro OAKY OKAY I'M FREAKING OUT ON HOW SHE MENTIONED DEMI'S I was like, "She's might say it. She's gonna say it. SHE DID IT OH YMGODODODODOD" (flips out internally)
Sadly, that's a fairly common occurrence with coming out as a lesser-known identity. But, sometimes it's fun to educate people who don't know what it is.
Sean Gillespie Holosexual is a Term ‘invented‘ by the youtuber SimplyNailogical. Holosexuality basically means that you’re ‘attracted‘ to Holographic, rainbow shifting things like Nailpolish, jackets, pencil cases etc.
Carlos Polónia same because I live in the most Christian state/city there is, my whole family is very religious/traditional/catholic/Christian and all of them are straight and all the women are super feminine and the men are super masculine. Oh and I'm here with my tough life of my unaccepting family being a asexual demiromantic trans boy :)
Absolutely no hate at all in this comment, I just wanted to say that bi DOES mean two, but (and I'm no expert) I'm pretty sure bi means you like men, and women (aka male and female sexes) but pan means you like male, female, trans, non-binary, etc. I think. Anyway, I love you and this is the first video I've seen of you and OK byeeeee
no... bi has always meant attraction to two or more genders. the purple stripe in the middle actually represents nb genders. pan was originally invented by some cis people who sort of envisioned trans people as a whole different category (even if they were binary trans people) and so made a sexuality they felt was more inclusive-- it was thus originally kind of transphobic, but the way people use it has changed somewhat since then. basically, pan and bi have pretty similar meanings: it's more about which one individual people would prefer to identify as.
swete jeeesu The prefix bi means two. For example the word bicycle begins with the prefix bi because it has two wheels. A unicycle begins with uni because it has one wheel. Same for tricycle and so on and so forth. Therefore bisexual literally means two sexual attractions, male and female. The prefix pan has a different meaning that gives the word pansexual the definition of attraction to all genders.
i'm bisexual - i do accept and know that people can identify different than just Man and Woman, but I find no connection there for me. i like cisgender identifying people, not to say i hate non-cis/all genders, because i don't. i accept each person as their own and i don't have a problem with anyone different.
Also, what about gray-asexual/aromantic, someone who doesn't experience a lot of sexual/romantic attraction, but does still experience some? And autochorissexualism?
Honestly Ashley, these kinds of videos are the reason i subscribed to you. You have such unique and insightful views on sexuality and gender that it completely knocked the whole concept of binary-gender/sexuality out of the water. Your videos have been really helpful in discerning what it really means to explore it all in a non-conventional way. Lately i have even been identifying as pansexual and demi-non gendered despite identifying as a completely straight male only a few years ago. Your ideas have really help me explore possibilities of romantic and sexual attraction i didn't think were at all who i was, but it is surprising what you find once you let the stigma go. So i just want to thank you Ashley, each video like this helps me feel more comfortable in my own skin, and that is a world of difference :)
the only problem I have with this is separating trans men and women to cis men and women (like at 3:48). If you are attracted to a certain gender you are attracted to that gender and not their genitals. Trans and cis aren't genders.
"Trans and cis aren't genders." True. Perhaps I could have worded this better. They definitely aren't genders, but they are identities, and someone certainly can be attracted to an identity. Plus I didn't want to perpetuate trans erasure by only saying "man" and "woman," and ignoring people who feel strongly connected to the "trans" part of themselves.
Ashley Mardell True. It's so complicated, because some people only want to be seen as their true gender regardless of their gender assigned at birth, while other people want to recognize being trans. I used to get so offended when people would separate trans men/women and cis men/women until I realized that some trans people prefer to recognize it. Now I just have mixed feelings about it... One thing that for sure bothers me, though, is when people say that pansexuality is the attraction to "men, women, and trans people." It'd be one thing if they meant trans* with the *, but I feel like this definition (in the very least when spoken) erases non-binary identities. I believe people should use labels however fits them, but "pan" does mean "all"...
K. Dftba Love this! And as for, "because some people only want to be seen as their true gender regardless of their gender assigned at birth" then in that case I am referring to them when I say "man" or "woman" :)
Bellyzbad1 News for you my friend, there is no such thing as being normal! Everyone is different in their own way from hobbies, to identity involving sexuality and gender, to gender expression, and all that fun stuff. Being cis just means you identify with your biological sex. It's not bad in any way! just because you don't wish to educate yourself doesn't mean you can put down other people. That is called bullying and is usually bad. uwu You may also want to brush up on the term mental illness.
Trans people are just regular men or women. There are no "trans people." If there are "trans people" then there are also cis people. Should I start calling every cis person "Cis person" now? Ok, I'm only half kidding. But seriously, we are just humans.
I'm basically pan Sexual I love all genders and Sexualitys, but I prefer to identify as bi because it's easier to tell people that😅 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤ 💛 💚 💙 💜 💖 yay
This was so so so helpful to me since I'm still questioning I might be A-Demi-sexual or A-demi-romantic Edit: I said this 5 months ago, and nope I'm lesbian 👌
Hey Ashley, I'm not sure how I feel about your definitions of Bi- and Pan-. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I have researched them both in the past and I was under the impression that: a) bisexual means attracted to both males and females, i.e. both binary genders (as opposed to "more than one gender") b) pansexual means that a person does not take gender into account at all when it comes to sex and attraction. i.e. attracted to ANYone, regardless of gender. (as opposed to "all genders") while c) omnisexual means attracted to EVERY gender (which is how you defined pansexual) What do you think? Furthermore, I think it is acceptable that the bi- in bisexual does mean "both" and refers to "binary". I think that it is valid to be attracted to the *traditional* "binary" genders. Although, attraction is relative, so you should never limit yourself by saying "I will never be attracted to anyone of another gender".
I feel you're describing a kind of dated definition of bisexual. As society has opened it's mind more to non binary genders, what it means to be "bisexual" has followed. I think for a contemporary bisexual the "bi" would be loving 1) same genders and 2) other genders.
I'd have to agree with ashley. as a bisexual woman myself, I and all of the other bisexuals i have met in my life (albeit not hundreds but enough) have defined bisexual as attraction to the same and other genders. I mainly identify with bi because it brings less confusion when coming out and has been easier to find a community online using this label. Though I freely admit that identifying as pan or queer have been easier when talking to some people within the lgbt+ community
I've seen some debate about this, but I know a lot of people who use "bisexual" in the same sense that Ashely describes above (i.e. attraction to both same and other genders). I personally use "bi" and "pan" interchangeably - in queer circles where I don't have to explain myself, I'll use "pan", but in the mainstream I'll say I'm bi, because frankly life is too short to give everyone I come out to a crash course in sexual politics. I also identify as agender, so I'm looking forward to the next one of these videos!
I agree with Ashley about bi, but I have heard that about pan vs. omni. Then again, some people do use these labels interchangeably, and some pan people are attracted to all genders without the attraction being in spite of gender... mostly I'd just take both labels as meaning attraction to any gender and leave the specifics up to the individual, because it's different for everyone. I really hope that doesn't sound too pretentious! Plus, some people don't know that both labels exist, so they might just be going off what they know...
Bisexual resources do not label bisexuality that way and sources I have seen said bisexual organisations have been identifying the term bisexual as having a same gender as well as other gender attraction. For some people that might mean strictly man and woman, for some people this might exclude trans women and mean as they only like cis people. For some they might like men and women of both cis and trans nature but not be attracted to non-binary. The traditional label of bisexual as being strictly cis man/woman attraction is an imposed one, not a community accepted one.
I identify as Panromantic, but I am usually attracted to more feminine or androgynous looking people, and many happen to be male. So many of these identities aren't really talked about so I cannot thank you enough for making this video. Anyway, have a great day!
Given that the comments section is awful, I wanna say that no matter what you identify yourself with, you deserve respect as much as anyone else. Don't let people get you down
I identify as Ted Bundy, now respect me =D (I think that respect is earned, not granted) I have not problem with LGBTQ or Asexual people for that matter. But all of these new labels seem a bit like narcissists who seek out attention. Could you please explain to me the difference between gender, sex (not the activity), sexual identity and orientation. I always thought that sex and gender are the same thing. Sexual orientation being the person who you would like to have sex with and sexual identity being the gender/sex that you identify as. I would be thankful if you could explain all of this to me.
Ner ida Thank you for this nice comment. There are so many people invalidating bisexuality/homosexuality in these comments and it's nice to see someone who's supportive.
Doesn't that mean you're pan? I mean by is you swing both ways with the male and female and pan is you are gender blind and you are attracted to males, females, transgenders, no gender, ect.
It doesn't mean they should be pan. Bi people can like trans people, trans people are Guys and Girls right? Male to Female? Then they are Female. Bi is liking Male and Female's.
Okay, I just used the trusty source of Google and Bi is for when you like males or females but since transgenders are technically male or female identifying they go into the male and female group while Pan people are attracted to or like all genders not just the 'main' 2 male and female they are to say gender blind
Hey Ashley. I think for one of the next ABC's of LGBT (if you are planning on doing more of these, which I hope you are), you (or a guest who identifies with the Ace and/or Aro Spectrum) should discuss the Ace and Aro Spectrum. I know you discussed demisexuality/romanticism in this video, but there are many other identities that fall under the spectrum between asexual and allosexual, and subsequently aromantic and alloromantic. For instance (please note all of these can be tied to a romantic orientation), gray-A, lithsexual (akoisexual), cupriosexual, quoisexual (WTFsexual), ace flux, and more. I don't think there are many videos discussing this topic, and as a aro-spec ace, I can say that not many people know what these orientations are/mean. I think it would be very helpful for those who know someone who identifies with the ace/aro spectrum with their understanding of their sexual and romantic orientation, and might help others discover themselves. Anyways, tldr. I think this would be a cool idea. I hope you consider making it if you see this comment. You're amazing. Your content's amazing. Stay awesome! -- Erin
First comment - oh yhhh ;) Dear Ashley, ur new content kicks ass! You're one of the most realistic and entertaining people on youtube atm. The editing in your videos is always to such a good quality and looks great! Beer and a chat is one of my favourite 'series'(??) that you do and I hope you never stop making videos - they've really helped me :) Thanks ^^
I was so happy when I heard her say "the Aces and the Aros" that I dramatically fist pumped and internally screamed externally loudly whispered "YES!" Because I'm at work but I'm aro-ace and nobody ever knows what either one is so just hearing someone acknowledge us and validate us makes me super happy

It’s kind of sad how, in today’s world, we can’t just say “I’m in love” and not have their gender and sexuality questioned.

Its cool to see older people accepting. Its hard when ur older.
Omg this is the first time I've seen someone over 40 understanding more than bi, gay, straight, female, and male!

I am a cis gendered, typically feminine, pansexual, panromantic female!! pan is a label I've only really taken on for a few months now but i love it and its definitely right for me :) good job, ashley, can't wait for part 2!!
I'm a non binary, androgynous, pansexual, demiromantic person.

I know right! Like why doesn't anyone get that?
I love the fact that she did the difference between bi and pan and why you'd want to be one over the other, I am a pansexual female that when someone asks I tell them I'm bi so I don't have to explain it but if we become good friends, I tell them I'm pan and I also relate with the term demiguy in the fact that I feel more connected to the male gender but not enough to identify as male
Dasia Zientek Same. I'm Demiromantic Pansexual and a Demiguy (I always use the term "Tomboy" for that because it's sounds better for me)
Dasia Zientek I never knew about demi-guy!! I realate with this alot as I am pan-romantic

Rainbowtwinkle 2000 no, that really sucks! What do you look for in a girl?
gay girl, a girl who is funny, playful, basically natural with their looks/ not always with the makeup, a person who'll be there for me and let me be there for them- a person who is beautiful on the inside, and happy/ kind on the outside. 😊
What about yourself?
Rainbowtwinkle 2000 nice.

sassy/sarcastic,
playful but knows when to be serious,

also some other sexualities:
lithsexual - one who feels sexual attraction but doesn't want it reciprocated
cinsexual - opposite of demisexual, one who feels sexual attraction easily
abrosexual - one who's sexual orientation changes fluidly
autochorissexual - one who feels sexual attraction, but doesn't wish to partake in anything sexual
cupiosexual - one who does not experience sexual attraction, but wants a sexual relationship
fratsexual - one who feels sexual attraction to those who they do not know well, but it fades after getting to know the person
recipsexual - one who experiences sexual attraction after realizing somebody is attracted to them
Aren't most of these like.. made up?
Isn't everything...like... made up?
Burried Alive I love that the sexuality world is so diverse! It's so fun to learn about how different and unique we are :)

LOVE THIS :D Thanks for sharing!
What's the difference between demi and gray then? (and please explain any terms you use to me!)
***** Demi = "I experience sexual attraction once I have formed a close emotional bond."
Gray = "I mostly do not experience sexual attraction but it is possible on very rare occasions."
You can be both I think (imo) = "I am mostly asexual unless I have formed a very close emotional bond with someone"
YAY YOU DIDN'T FORGET THE ACE AND ARO!!!

Like sure, you can have preferences, but I’m bi and I have plenty of crushes on trans people, because if someone’s FtM or MtF they’re still a male and a girl, it doesn’t matter hat they’re trans, I see a FtM person as a male and a MtF as a female
wvwvwvwv that’s fine that you’re not attracted to them, but I’m just saying, that as a bi person, I am only attracted to girls and boys, I include trans people in the boys and girls/males and females, section
wvwvwvwv the same way that a straight female is still straight if they are dating a trans male

Another thing is that I am pansexual but mostly like guys and have had a few crushes on girls and non-binary people. So people are always saying stuff like this.
"Oh, so you're straight."
"No."
"But you have a boyfriend. Are you bisexual?"
"No actually, I'm pansexual."
"What does that mean?"
🤦♀️ Ugh. It's so annoying. I sent a link to this video to people I know NEED TO KNOW THIS. Cause I'm tired of people thinking there's only straight, bisexual, and gay/lesbian.
Do not worry, I'm sure that at some point in the future everyone will know what it's to be pansexual, just as everyone knows what it is to be gay
Joy Kat Nora exactly
I'm a pan-demi-romantic (that's possible right?) I feel like asexuals, demisexuals, pan-s, queers, omni-s, lots of sexualities are unrepresented. Society has the mindset that there's just homosexual and heterosexual, but there's so much more. Most people think there's only two genders. We need to be more educated and open-minded.
This is the first of your videos I've watched, and this is AWESOME. I've always wanted to be able to find something in the media that represents everyone, is educated and educates the audience, and is willing to share their opinions. Here it is. Thank you.

I think you missed gray asexuals. This is when you usually don't feel sexual attraction to but sometimes you do. This is NOT the same as demisexuality because to be gray asexual you don't necessarily have to have a strong emotional bond to be sexually attracted to someone.

Identify as one. Male or Female. There's only two.
Plus Talking ... what?
ive been confronted by so many people saying my sexuality is a rip-off of Pansexual
im Omni
Me too. I told my freind I thought I was omni and they said I was just pan but wanted to be different.
This is what I thought...... Have an amazing day... Byezzz
You don't have to be pansexual to be into trans people. Most transgender people are either male or female.
ACE REPRESENT!!! XD YAY FOR ACE INCLUSION!!! XDDDD
MY MIND IS BLOWN
APPERENTLY IM SKOLIO, DEMI, QUESTIONING AND IDK WHATS HAPPENING I STILL NEED TO LEARN MORE
the only problem I have with this is separating trans men and women to cis men and women (like at 3:48).
Ashley Mardell Thank you, Ashley! :D
Yes, I agree with that practice. You're awesome. :)
That is called bullying and is usually bad. uwu
You may also want to brush up on the term mental illness.
pansexuality isn't ‘trans inclusive’ bisexual people can also be into trans people
That’s not the point. It’s falling in love or being attracted to trans people!!
Trans people are just regular men or women. There are no "trans people." If there are "trans people" then there are also cis people. Should I start calling every cis person "Cis person" now? Ok,
I'm only half kidding. But seriously, we are just humans.
shes kinda making bi people out to be transphobic
Ok thank you I didn’t know that
I'm basically pan Sexual I love all genders and Sexualitys, but I prefer to identify as bi because it's easier to tell people that😅

I hate the Pan joke it’s stupid so I just say hi. I don’t know what the hell I am. Just a mess I guess. :3

Edit: I said this 5 months ago, and nope I'm lesbian 👌
Literally mood
I see this passion in your eyes and it's amazing! Never stop talking about what you love! Very informational btw :D
Hey Ashley, I'm not sure how I feel about your definitions of Bi- and Pan-. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I have researched them both in the past and I was under the impression that:
a) bisexual means attracted to both males and females, i.e. both binary genders
(as opposed to "more than one gender")
b) pansexual means that a person does not take gender into account at all when it comes to sex and attraction. i.e. attracted to ANYone, regardless of gender.
(as opposed to "all genders")
while
c) omnisexual means attracted to EVERY gender
(which is how you defined pansexual)
What do you think?
Anyway, have a great day!
omg thank you! I always thought i was bisexual, but i was wrong! You helped me find out that i was hetero sexual, but bi romantic.
I'm pansexual and genderfluid and I'm coming out tomorrow I hope I don't have to explain what pansexual means
Im not sure about this, but i comfortable with asexual but biromatic Or pan romantic for me.
Given that the comments section is awful, I wanna say that no matter what you identify yourself with, you deserve respect as much as anyone else.
Don't let people get you down
I identify as Ted Bundy, now respect me =D (I think that respect is earned, not granted)
I have not problem with LGBTQ or Asexual people for that matter.
Ner ida I love you
Then don't tell straight people that they are stupid for not being attracted to 'these people', because that's what I've heard from the LGBTQ++
Only 2 genders
Every time i tell a girl I'm bi they act like "Hey I'm not interested in you" like honey did I say I was Interested in you.
Hi I'm bi. But I'm dating a Trans person
Really* Erickson ig u should be pan
Doesn't that mean you're pan? I mean by is you swing both ways with the male and female and pan is you are gender blind and you are attracted to males, females, transgenders, no gender, ect.
It doesn't mean they should be pan. Bi people can like trans people, trans people are Guys and Girls right? Male to Female? Then they are Female. Bi is liking Male and Female's.
i actually thought people who dates girls or boys only is bi and people who dates girls or boys or trans is pan .

I'm a proud pansexual :)
YOU ARE NOW MY ONE OF MY FAVORITE UA-camRS
First comment - oh yhhh ;)
Dear Ashley,
ur new content kicks ass! You're one of the most realistic and entertaining people on youtube atm. The editing in your videos is always to such a good quality and looks great! Beer and a chat is one of my favourite 'series'(??) that you do and I hope you never stop making videos - they've really helped me :) Thanks ^^
Wow it took me so long to type that I wasn't even first anymore :'(
My cousin is pan and my step brother is bi and my other cousin is lesbian
And your family has AIDS
It would be handy if there was a quiz or test to find out which one you might be. Even if it's long, I wouldn't mind. It would be handy.
