• 2011 Terrain Audio Bui...
Just bought a 2015 to do a system in. Going with skar on everything. Got a nice tesla style android radio to replace the mylink garbage. This video has definitely given me some ideas.
This video shows the pillars we did. I am selling them with the Audiofrog mids and Seas tweeters if you are interested in buying them. They are a gray color but you can finish them in whatever you want.

@@Grayback1973 how much are they they look nice.
@@Grayback1973 I'm still trying to figure out a sub box that leaves me some room left in the cargo area. My skar box I had in my volt is too big.
@@darrelldarrell1447 $600 for both pillars with all the speakers included. Email me at 1pocket73@sbcglobal.net if you'd like to purchase.
Incredibly impressed once I have a garage to tinker this is exactly what I want to spend my time doing
Where’s the UA-cam video of changing out the stock subwoofer?
Nice walkaround. I just read through your terrain forum build thread again earlier today. BandDirector was definitely the inspiration for my factory sub box conversion. When I saw the price of the stealthbox I knew there had to be a better way.
After you did the carpet on yours it looked great! I had another customer out in Cali that just built a wood enclosure in that stock location and carpeted it.I didn't even consider that an option but he made it work somehow.Pictures looked good anyway....:)
That sound deadening is for real 120%!
Yup,In fact I am not lying when I tell you there is 75% more time in the sound deadening installation of this build than the stereo system itself. If I have 100 hours into this build then 75 went to sound deadening and sealing off door holes.
WOW that is impressive! Thanks for answering a lot of my questions. I wont go that big, but I do want to change the factory sub to an aftermarket with amp and it nice to know I can go with a 10" Thanks for the help.
DAMB THAT IS A NICE SETUP.
Thanks,we're adding to the front stage and should be done within the next few weeks.I'll be making a new video for that.
@@Grayback1973 thanks cant wait to check it out.
Hey John do you remember how many sq feet of sound deadner is took? Did a install on my 2014 turrain slt-2 . The vehicle relied on the anc system for all the noise suppressing .I deleted the anc and I'm now getting all the road noise and to be honest The damn thing sounds like a metel shead . The pioneer system sounds pretty decent from factory with center channel front stage . I've since added a phinox gold xmax 10" 2ohm svc In q quarter wave/ t-line/horn vent enclosure powerd buy a nemesis audio na-2km. I replaced the alt with a raggie single run of 0g grounded to the same hump I retain the spare tire and enclosure is 11.5 " tall rear fire port . I've had a 15 inch ds18 exl x15.2d and a 8inch ct sounds strato 2ohm both in vented enclosures but nether holds a candle to the quarter wave and svc.. the efficiency of it goes un matched . The amp is over kill but keeps the tune far away from clip.
It's been quite a while since I did it but I do remember I bought the Colossus by Knuconceptz and it was two boxes from Amazon.
I really like your build, & I want to do it to my 2017 equinox
Thank you,not sure if you seen part 2 of this.We modified the front area.... here's the video

For the converter what speakers did you use to tab into for the rca signal
I used the factory preamps, no line converter.
Do you still make the harness that connects to the factory amp under the dash?
We discontinued all of our harness products for the 2010-2017 Equinox/Terrain's.
I have a 2019 Terrain, And Im going the same route as you did, but I aim to use CT Sounds on a 3way active front stage/custom A pillerds, using an AudioControl 6ch/wDSP. And 3 Ct sounds Meso 10s, @1ohm. Throwing an Epicenter in the mix also.
So, You didnt upgrade the electrical(Alt)? Just added a battery??
The cubby thing on the side pops out and I adjust my amp in the back under the side panel that way but have a remote run up front also that allows me to turn the bass gain up and down.
Nice system and can't go wrong with Zapco... what's with the purple trim!!!
That's the vehicle owners weird preference, I disapproved! Since I did this build we did a big upgrade on the front speakers.Went with a 3-way front, modded the A-pillars to house a tweeter and mid-range on each side. Turned out great and been meaning to make a part 2 to this video to show that.
how long did it take?
It took about 4-5 months because I was only able to work on it a few days a month.
Dual 4 ohm ran in parallel would be 1 ohm and in series would be 8 ohms
Yeah I misspoke in the video. They are dual 2ohm ran in series parallel.
So .5 ohms or 4 ohms then unless you have 1 ran in parallel and 1 ran in series idk I was just checking out your video I have a equinox and I'm trying to keep the factory radio any tips I'm gonna use a kicker loc and splice into the back door speakers
Did you have to upgrade your electrical? Any dimming
No, I didn't upgrade this at all and there is zero dimming even at full tilt.
Thanks so much. I was about to over spend 🥴
Hey John I need another harness for my mods and high I love the harness I purchased for my bass
Hey Otis, email me at 1pocket73@sbcglobal.net
Wow this is an amazing video, I love the setup I have the same vehicle i just bought 2x12 Rockford P3's & I want to eliminate space.
I would like to get this same setup for my vehicle. How can contact you & talk about getting this?
Hi,thanks. I don't do installs but if you want any questions answered just shoot me an email at 1pocket73@sbcglobal.net
Are you using stock alternator and stock h5 AGM Battery? Did you do any upgrade to the battery and alternator grounds?
No upgrades,just stock.
Hi have any idea how to change the radio to a 7 inch screen just like the 2012 terrain
I really couldn't help you with that, sorry.
@@Grayback1973 okay thank you
What does a sound system like that run$$
Can u do mine for me 😅
Did you deaden the hatch panel? If not any rattles from it?
I deadened it too much actually. No rattles at all but now it is kinda heavy for the stock shock absorbers that hold the door up.
@@Grayback1973 I'm guessing it would be removed the same as a 15 Equinox
@John Adams. OMG BRO. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SETUP. I HAVE THE EXACT SAME MODE AND YEAR TERRAIN AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW IN THE HELL COULD I KEEP THE SPACE IN THE BACK BUT STILL BANG MY WOOFERS. HOW MUCH FOR YOU TO DO THE EXACT SAME SETUP FOR MY TERRAIN? I'LL COME TO YOU BRO. REALLY INTERESTED SO PLEASE HMB. GOD BLESS 🙏
Thanks for the compliment Dante. I actually don't do installs for a living rather I work a regular job.I could never find the time to do yours but if you need help or pointers just email me and I'll be happy to help you out.
