    Martin great job on the de Tomaso, you would not believe it but I just finished renovating the same model I have had from childhood!!! I did a code three where I painted the lower red and the top white ( too lazy to get a blue spray) and put red decal stripes on the bonnet. To top it off I used the same fix for the antenna 😜
    Luckily my chassis only needed a clean as it is as new. Enough about me, another top restoration my friend.
    All the very best. Cheers Chris 🇦🇺👍🏻🍻🎯🏁

    Martin, Corgi products ceases to amaze me with the way they produce some of the mechanisms for some of these diecast & the complexity of it, realistic and costly $ & interesting😄👍. The name of the car is beyond my vocabulary ability to pronounce too😁😆😆😂,a real tuffy . My friend as always you came through with flying colors and made it a beautiful model 👍. Take care Martin, see ya on your next restoration.👋😎🚙🚒🏍

    such engineering way back when, and all these details and functions with zinc and plastic and occasionally brass... they all went out of their ways back when. and what do we get today? accurate scales and printed-on details. opening doors are an excemption. SIKU asks almost twice the price for a model with opening doors or hood...
    great work! your patience is wonderful, really! and accurate colours, too. ^^ this one looks like new now.
    one could use Miami Blue Metallic to the white. it would be authentic, as DeTomaso used many parts from Ford Mustang and Granada for their cars. ;)
    I have one of both versions, the first, and the whizzwheels one. the latter is almost rarer than the first edition, somehow. interesting since the model was made only one year before they switched? funny how that works... same with Dinky's GT40MK2, I once got the older version with spoke wheels in mint and boxed for the same pricetag they asked for a later "massive wheel"-version in playworn condition...

    • @martindaredare
      @martindaredare  Рік тому

      Cheers lothar, yes its funny how the prices of these castings vary so much the ones you think aren't worth much and are not anything special command a high price ,iam not surprised corgi only run this particular casting for one year ,it must have been very labour intensive at the factory.
