Martin a nerv wrecking complicated but awesome restauration again. A lot of engineering went in this model in the 60's. I bought the Corgi copy of this model probably 20 years ago but with a different box. Thanks for showing.
Lovely restoration of the Black Beauty Martin. We were.all.waiting for the launch of the Whirlygig ! Three hands would have been good in the reassembly. Brilliant stuff.as always. Take care my friend David.
Bringing back bad memories for me, Martin. Think I had mine when I was ten, at the end of 1968. I thought there was very little play value in these as, like you, I'd never seen the series. I remember it being solid.
Wow, that’s a fiddle to get back together but what a lovely restoration, looks awesome and nice with the box too, a lovely model for your collection, love it👌👍😊 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Cheers nick ,thay always seem more complicated when filming being always mindfull of the camera and keeping in shot ,as you well know. All the best Martin
That's a very smart job Martin, a fiddly model to reassemble but you've done a fantastic job on it. Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next one. Take care and all the best. Peter.
That is a super awesome toy. Love it fires missle. You did a amazing job friend! It looked super complicated to put back together. Turned out great! 😎👍
This thing is a true beauty! Nice job Martin! I get it, filming can be stressful with all the parts! Nothing worse than fiddling around while filming! You make it look easy!
Never watched that TV show but I remember the Green Hornet and his sidekick Kato (Bruce Lee) making cameo appearances on my favorite show, Batman! Very nice restoration job per usual, Martin!
What a brilliant restoration Martin so many moving parts and it came out perfect, like most 60's kids I had one of these even though most of us had no clue who or what the Green Hornet was brilliant mate
lol who ever came up with this Green Hornet car, did not think about the Missile firing out of the engine compartment, and that there is no space for an engine! Nice restoration job!
Hi mate great job, I never watched the show either but I remember watching Batman when they were walking up the side of the building and the window opening and Kato sticking his head out to say hello to them as they climbed pass. As a kid I had all the Batman cards and would swap them with me mates. Good idea taking a spare one apart as a guide they can get complicated especially working with one hand holding it together and the other trying to do the screws up. Catch you on the next one mate stay safe.👍🏻
Thanks Geoff, I hadn't seen the programme not really my cup of tea ,thunderbirds was mire me . But this was fun, a bit tricky putting it back together, needed another pair of hands . All the best Martin
Rome wasn't built in a day. (And my last dollar says that they had to endure a few few hiccoughs.) Wonderful work yet again, Martin! Thanks so for sharing! ❤❤❤❤ (Were Al Hirt still with us, he'd regale you with the Green Hornet theme.) As for the trunk v boot argument... been legally American my entire life. Leaned at 28 that my paternal grandfather was Welsh. My first thought upon learning that - 'Now I understand why I've always preferred "boot".' 😁
What a super restore. As always, enjoy watching your videos. You had one of those days with all the parts, all of us would have been all thumbs. Thank you
Fantastic restoration again a bit fiddly but as always you managed it I don’t know how I missed this one my hawk eyes you need to paint the red lights on the bumper 😊
Hi Martin, I had one of these with the later cast wheels , I loved it , but the rear tyres developed flat spots with no way of replacing the rear tyres because of the fender skirts , really good job , but you forgot to paint the base plate fixing tabs orange to resemble rear lights, keep up the excellent work, thank you.
What a beauty Martin👍,Very well done even tho it was a bit fiddley to get back together, I have the Green Hornet in 1/25 scale model”still in the box” needs to be put together and I even found a big rubber Realistic looking GreenHornet model insect about the size of the car it self, I thought that it would compliment the model 😉😆😆, but hey my friend love your work take care , see ya on your next restoration.👋😎🚙🚒🛺🛻🚚
@@martindaredare Actually the newer version is pretty good . I was dreading the thought that I may plastic wheels but no . All in all decent stuff with a figure but no little man in the car with the gun in the car
That looks, simply stunning. You really did a wonderful job on that, Martin. Of course, that was my favourite show as a kid. Van Williams played The Green Hornet, AKA Britt Reed and Bruce Lee played Kato the chauffer. I watched the show for Bruce Lee because he was a real martial artist. You have to watch some reruns of the show on UA-cam.
Cheers Gerry, it wasn't too bad. It always looks difficult on camera because you really haven't got the freedom of movement and mindfully your filming. It's worth doing, though. All the best, Martin
Great restoration on the Black Beauty from the Green Hornet, Martin. Incidently The Green Honet TV series came out in 1966 , with Bruce Lee in , but there was a film that came out in 2011
Top job Martin, another simple model to restore 😂😡 I bet the Corgi workers loved it on the assembly line....... NOT!!! Great work just like a bought one! Nice touch with the box. Amazing the complexity of the day. All the best to you my friend. Cheers from down under Chris 🇦🇺👍🏻🍻🎯🏁🏁
Thanks Chris, yes, I bet thay were not happy seeing these on the assembly line, clever designs back then all without the aid of computer technology. All the best Martin
Morning Martin lovely resto i think me and you both like to test ourselves the teknos can be just as fiddley but that's half the fun. though you don't think so at the time pal
Thanks nigel yes, it's good to push yourself a bit now and again, I would have been interested to see how they assembled these at the factory . It was worth the effort in the end .
Good effort....... and a remarkable example of holding your temper! She looks great 👏🏻👍🏻👌🏻 I don't do the 'funnies' any more because they're just too fiddly ar*ed and life's too short, so kudos to you, guv'nor!
Thanks very much, my friend. Yes thay are fiddly this is the reason I haven't done many of the TV vehicles. But I did like the look of this one . All the best Martin
Persistence paid off, brilliant looking completed restoration project Martin. Question, is there a easy way of replacing tracks on a centurion Tank without removing the bottom plate?
Thanks very much my friend, as for the tank, I have one in stock.but haven't restored it yet so I can have a look ,maybe by removing one of the larger wheels at back or front I can have a look when I get home tomorrow.
Great job Martin, I'm planning on restoring one of these as a Christmas present for one of my boys, I'm half way through doing a Corgi 1966 Batmobile for my other son. Where did you get the repro boxes from please, they look good quality and would finish the Christmas presents nicely.
Thanks Steve, I checked back andthe box was a one off from a seller, so to be honest I don't know ,there's a few sellers on ebay under diecast vehicles, you might try .sorry I can't help any more then that .
The Black beauty or Black bess the roof is a vinyl covered steel and a dull black in colour not shiny you can see it in the TV shows and see the actual filming vehicle from the TV in a museum in the states it's a modified ford Lincoln.
Thanks Stuart, yes I believe it would have been matt on the roof ,when I do the other one I will do it matt ,and see how it looks . All the best Martin
Hi Lee, when the front suspension breaks it breaks really close to the plastic frame ,not easy to see . It definitely would have had some . All the best Martin
@@martindaredare Yeah,I can see where the breaks are, just confused as to why the pieces weren't rattling about loose in there.A coincidence when your video dropped because I was looking at mine just beforehand, thinking about fixing the suspension. When I tried to fix mine the front ended up sitting really high so I decided to leave it as was but it's always bugged me.Theres a video on here where the fella improves the design with piano wire to good effect.Thought I might try that.
Sorry Martin, after last week's offering we get this.I was never a fan of these 'kookie' kids programmes,Batman being another. So I will jump this weeks resto, hoping next week's will be better!

Top notch work again Martin fantastic paint finish but the gloves they were more of a hindrance than help by the look of things 👍

Not one for the faint hearted for sure, Chunky beast. Surprised they incorporated such a weak suspension system. Nicely finished as always
Thanks Ian ,yes the suspension is definitely flawed in the design.

Thanks very much my friend, and that's a good idea, I will have a look at that
