Corgi total renovation Ghia Mangusta De Tomaso No. 271. A rarity from 1969.

- The Corgi De Tomaso Mangusta Ghia model was produced by Meetoy only in 1969. It seems to me that the complexity of production and the number of details meant that this model was withdrawn. To display subtitles in your language at the bottom of the movie, please press C on the computer or the three dots on the mobile phone in the movie. This is an amazing 1:43 scale car that comes with a fold-out chassis for the first time. It was sold in a special package which showed the entire chassis with the engine arranged separately on the shelf below. Now the Corgi subsidiary in China has produced a replica of this famous car following the model from 1969. My model was very dilapidated, but as it is very rare, I decided to restore it to its greatness. It was missing four tires, two rims, had a torn antenna, broken suspension, and it was completely damaged. I did all the restoration work. I also added the box as it was sold in 1969. Unfortunately, I was not able to make the inner drawpiece, because it was made of plastic. That's why I simulated a similar inner box made of cardboard. The raw footage lasted for hours, I tried to shorten the film as much as I could, in the end I'm presenting the best 38 minutes. The amount of work that has been done on this car has been so great that get ready to watch the wonderful restoration for a long time. Thank you for watching the movie, I publish videos with the repair of cars on UA-cam on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Even when a piece of pot metal would break, I super glued it together and continue working the part immediately.
True restoration is the best way to do it. I really love this channel. Your work is so meticulous and precise...it's definitely one of the best matchbox/other small cars restoration channel in the world. Congratulations. This Mangusta is Beautiful!
Thank you very much
I love Mangusta! Such a elegant old italian muscle car! Your work is beautiful and clean! This is the real true way of restoring beautiful toys!❤🎄
Thank you very much
Making new is easy but restoring is hard. I really appreciate your work.
Thank you very much
A superb complex restoration. You show that it is not always possible to make extremely damaged parts, like the front light unit, look absolutely perfect, but that, with care and improvisation, very acceptable results can be achieved and a rare model brought back to life. Thank you Paul.
Thank you very much George
Corgi. Wow this takes me back to my childhood. I remember where i saw one back in 87. In a variety store in the town i now work in. Dad and i went to buy shoes . The store has been closed down for a while now.
Cool
Nice and perfect work guy. Greetings from LA COUNTY USA👍👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much
A clockwork restoration. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thank you very much
There aren’t many people who can restore, Mod. These tiny cars. You & Jakarta Diecast Projects come to mind. Awesome work as always!
Thank you very much
@@PaulRestorer You’re most welcome
The green one was later and had Wizzwheels. The chassis wasn’t removable on the green ones.
Hi Paul,
You’ve done an excellent job on this! This is my very favourite Corgi model. They’re probably rare because I have over 20 of them! I have very early castings exactly the same as the one you have restored and some of the later ones. You can tell them apart from the Ghia badge on the underside. Only the very early ones have that. Corgi used the Ghia badge without permission, and had to blank it out on the later models. I also have quite a few examples of the metallic green Mangusta that Corgi made with Wizzwheels.
A few points to note. The front wheels are actually smaller than the rear wheels, and the original tyres were different on the front than the ones on the rear. All the original tyres said ‘Corgi Toys’ on the sidewalls. The original box has a vacuum-formed yellow insert that the body and chassis sit in. I have a few mint and boxed examples of both the blue/white model and the metallic green model. I also have a few rough ones that need restoration. You should sell those decals, because I would definitely buy some from you.
Once again, you’ve done an excellent job on this one. Definitely my favourite one.
wow. I am very glad that you have so many copies of this rare kind. of course i can resell you detomaso decals. Please write me an e-mail with the address
paul.restorer@wp.pl
@@PaulRestorer How much for the decal?
That's a very nice resto. You should have put the Ghia badge on the front as that seems to be the version you have. It was withdrawn early one due to a licensing issue. I've done a couple of different colour versions, plain white, red underbody and blue too. Thanks for doing these, I think your castings are most excellent.
Absolutely InSane Those headlights turned out great as did the rest of the car. The 2 step display box ads something extra on top of an already impressive Diecast. Again you knocked it out of the park.
Thank you very much
Brilliant Restoration! I just bought one MIB because of this.
Thank you very much
Very talented, skilful, very rewarding pursuit, hobby, must obtain great satisfaction from doing something like that.
Thank You very much

I had one of those and gave it to my brother. Cool little models.

Cóż, co mogę powiedzieć...
Odbudowa? To prawie nowy budynek.
Bardzo dziękuję za podzielenie się. Miłego weekendu i szczęśliwego sezonu adwentowego dla Ciebie i Twojej rodziny 🕯️

Well, what can I say...
Restoration? That's almost a new build. I've never seen a suspension repaired on a model car before.👁️👁️👍🏼
Great work Paul, I'm thrilled. Definitely a thumbs up from me for this. 👍🏼

Tja, was soll ich sagen...
Restaurierung?

Thank you vwry much
What a beauty!!! Top class fabrication Paul.Bravo!
Thank you vwry much
Ganz toll. Aus dem Wrack ist eine Schönheit geworden!
Vielen Dank Ralf
Pozdrawiam.
Wow! This is your best yet! I did not know Corgi ever made such a detailed model...Fascinating so wonderful
Hello dear Paul, another beautiful job!
I clicked like 👉 689
Friendly greetings! Shari 🌺
Thank you very much Shari
Fantastisch!!
Wow Talk about going the extra mile.
Strong hands. Very much enjoy your work.
Thank you very much
Beautiful job ! This one was totally worth all the hard work ! It’s amazing how intricately made some of those old corgis are
Thank you very much Adrian
It's beautiful, you did a great job on this one. I remember DeTomaso Mangusta (next to Alfetta Spider) as a bigger, plastic toy with a remote control. It was quite popular in 80s.
Dziękuję serdecznie. ta Mangusta z pilotem to prawdopodobnie jedna z ostatnich kultowych zabawek piko na kabel. Pozdrawiam serdecznie
What a wonderful restoration 👍😊
Thank you very much
Gran trabajo. Te superas en cada modelo 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Muchas gracias
Didn't think this one was able to be saved at the beginning, but the master has done it again, amazing 👍
Thank you vwry much
That was certainly the most busy casting that I have ever seen.

Not a bad color blue for the Chassis Paul and the white and Sliver looks good for the body James Moses Jr.
Love the Mangusta! I had to settle for the Matchbox Pantera, which was my fav even though it was lovely purple-ish pink!
Cool
Majstersztyk👍👍👍👍👍👍 zawsze perfekcyjnie wykonana renowacja😀🤩
Dzięki wielkie
Magistral trabajo.Enhorabuena,es precioso👏👏👏👏👏
Muchas gracias Pedro
First rate work, enjoyed the making up of the wheels. I wonder if a simple fabricated flat floor with wheels and axles, so the backbone chassis, engine and suspension ending in disc brakes could be displayed on axle stands next to the car. However, I realise away from restoration, so thats not the point. Thank you for the excellent work, always look forward to watching.
Thank you very much Jeff
Elvis had a DeTomaso Pantera
Muchísimas gracias. noticias muy interesantes

Vielen Dank Jan
Fantastic restoration my friend and the final result is absolutly amazing !🏆🏅👍👋
Thank you very much
I enjoyed this restoration very much. Some facts: the blue, white and yellow colours are based on the flag of Argentina, birthplace of Alejandro De Tomaso, the actual car designer and builder. Corgi was a British company, and the Corgi breed is the preferred dog of Queen Elizabeth II.
Cool
My favorite Guigario design.
Cool

Paul, have you ever sat down and watched a video of paint drying?, this comes close to that experience.

Vielen Dank Dimi
Respekt !!!
Thank you very much
Eres un maestro!🇪🇦
Thank you very much
Another suggestion, to make your restorations more durable, you should airbrush some high gloss clear over the body. Also, paint the silver parts, like the engine, before you put it together. Spraying clear over the silver parts will ensure the metallic paints won’t rub off when handled, especially those nice rims. Silver and gold paints have always had a tendency to rub off really easy and they can make a mess of the rest of the item when handled. Lacquer high gloss clear works the best. I use it for all my scale models and anything that I paint that needs to be shiny. You can get satin and flat too. Cheers
Wow. What a project! Great job. You rebuilt the whole thing.
Thank you very much
