Ripper job Martin, looks great and well done not snapping the lake pipes off. Thank you for being such a great support for me from the beginning, I’ve learnt so much from watching your videos.
Thanks Peter, I have enjoyed watching your videos, this was the 1st time that I have clear coated my decals, for the same reason risk of damage, but these needed doing as thay didn't look smooth to start with .
Great to see a classic split rear window Corvette. I was holding my breath the whole time you were working on removing those side pipes. Well done. PB's a great guy and deserving of a celebration. 🍁☕👍
Cor, what a difference! Thats an absolute beauty...... PB's gonna love that. Really nice job 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻 PS I always lacquer over my decals after application.......
Another fantastic job, Martin, nice colour scheme gives it a sporty look, looking forward to seeing your next restoration, all the best to you and your family.
Great job Martin what a fantastic restoration. Those pipes were really a pain. But not a problem for your talent. All the best to you my friend hope the finger heals quickly. Cheers Chris 👍🏼🇦🇺🕺
Martin, what a great job on the little model. That on the rear trunk lid is the gas fill cap. Be looking for your next video. Be safe and God Bless you
Martin, you took the model from raggy to a beautiful split window Corvette, love the paint and the detail is very well done, makes me want to jump in take off in it 😆😂😆lol, always enjoy your restorations my friend, you take care.👋😎🚛🚗🚐🚙
That's a beautiful restoration Martin, the yellow looks perfect. I'm impressed with that silver chrome spray paint, I'll look out for that and give it a try. Another very enjoyable video, your restoration work is superb as always. Best wishes. Peter.
Hi Martin this was something special this week a really nice result. Loving the chrome spray we can see that coming out again. Best wishes from Ian b & the girls.
I had one of these never knew what happened to it though. It's a reasonable copy of a split window C2 Chevy Corvette!Good resto,Martin, looking at the state of it at the beginning.
Hi Martin lovely job that. The gloss on the paint and decals looks great. A worthy resto for Peter from pb retro Restorations. One of my guitars a Fender Stratocasters Fender logo decal on the head stock was damaged and a bit of the decal pealed off. It really bugged me so after a bit of research on eBay I found a replacement decal. I found out that my guitar witch is what they call a reissue a new guitar made to be exactly as a 1956 model would be if you went back in time and bought one. I found out that the early 50s Strats only had the decal put on the head stock and no clear put over the top, so sometimes if they get wet witch I think mine did once the decal can come off. Luckily the replacement decal was spot on and I just put it over the top of the old one keeping it in the perfect position. It turned out great you would never know. The yellow colour and the decals on this Corvette reminded me of a car in my brothers crash repairs. A bloke came in with an old mechanically fixed up but very scruffy looking Datsun 120Y and wanted us to paint it bright cannery yellow. He told us latter he had terminal cancer and wanted the car done up for his wife. He had a mischievous look in his eye and asked us to put a large daisy flower decal on the front bonnet just to torment his wife who's nickname was Daisy. So we did all the work and amazingly she loved it.😂😂 Catch you on the next one mate.👍🏻
Thanks Geoff, well you did well with the replacement decal for your guitar it's always a tricky moment with reproduction parts . I like the daisy story that's great. All the best Martin
Holding my breath during that side pipes removal...whew! Another great restoration, Martin! I know some of Corgi's race cars were actually based on real life race cars, so I wonder if this one was.
Thanks very much, my friend. It was a tense few minutes of removing those pipes. Maybe they are based it on the moon eyed dragster, all the best Martin
Great job pal if I may one word of caution on one model I made I shot lacquer on a set of water slide decals and they reacted and went crinkley and ruined them thought it was just worth mentioning
Nigel, I just had this happen to me. I don’t know what it is, I use the same clear coat I always do, but this time it crinkled the decals, that I admittedly got from a bloke I don’t normally get them from.
Not for me anymore as it hails from across the Pond, but I do remember having a stock red one in a previous life. I agree with you on the chromed centre section combined bumper - it is quite unsatisfactory, like the newer Corgi Impalas and the Toronados, but I suppose they were toys first. Great colour choice - Inca Yellow is a great, deep, full-bodied colour: I cannot be doing with insipid yellows that look a bit washed out. I'd have been tempted to just snip the intake/exhaust moldings - the glue join would have been invisible in the final build. I always thought to graphics on Corgis to be a bit poor, like there was no one really took an interest in the design: these dragstrip cars would have had wilder, tidier, more elaborate big graphics, and a load of smaller sub-sponsor stickers. The black on blue roundels are just plain wrong. Rant over - really nice job on it, Martin, so congratulations again!

I held my breath the entire time you were trying to remove THAT piece from the body. (You know which one I'm talking about right? :) )
🤣 so was I. It was a bit tricky. You never know when it's going to snap
Luckily, you were not subjected to a load of obscene language🤣.,

Great restoration Martin, so where do you get the square corgi tyres from? Is it flowers?
Hi Craig, Yes, he does sell them .
