Climbing and Descending the Moose Mountain Hills Near Saskaire

I Finally got around to making a video from some footage taken last fall around Thanks Giving Weekend. I snuck out and went for a Mountain Bike ride in the nearby Moose Mountain Hills. These hills are a very visible feature in contrast to the nearly bald flat praires surrounding the hills. The Moose Mountain Escarpment is a fossil remnant from the last ice age where the was a period of time that the ice had built up and ploughed up a moraine leaving these hills behind. I roughly gained 600' in elevation from the surrounding prairies while climbing them on my Marin Bike. It's hard to believe that this was once all covered in ice thousands of years ago. While up on the Hills I checked out the Saskaire out door centre. I believe this was started when a couple people managed to get together a group and start a non profit and purchase 3 quarters of land. It's awesome they had the foresight to do this so that everyone can come visit the land and enjoy the beautiful unique area. It's also kinda cool to get a nearly 600' descent in down hill mountain biking in South East Saskatchewan.
