If you're aiming to negate shin jobs then it seems counterintuitive to have any extension beyond the bed whatsoever. I built a bed frame with scrap 2x and simply undersized it by 1/4" all the way around, rounded the corners with a router, and put a bed skirt on it to cover the raw wood. Took 20 minutes and $15 for the bed skirt. Function over form.
Every bed I have ever done the couples thing in that didn’t have a rim to hold the mattress ended up slipping. & part of making love becomes resetting the mattress… So yes love the bed.. No don’t think the design will hold up
Please protect your food mattress by using a mattress protector and make sure to wash it as often as you wash your sheets. Otherwise that mattress is going to be one big pile of dead skin cells in no time!
Have her depth perception checked out , just a suggestion. It may be she has an issue with her vision. I’m now legally blind and it’s due in part to depth perception.
Yeah like you suffer.. I've been sleeping in and 5 ft by 12 ft cargo trailer. With no windows. A 6-ft by 2 ft plywood bed. 2016 to present day still.. banking coin. You didn't suffer at all.
Round off those corners if protecting legs is the requirement.
