Thanks for sharing, have a 3.2L laying around in bits myslef hope to build it one day and try to get it in a MK7.....so keen on seeing how you go with this!
Thanks for watching! I’m of course not the first person to VR swap a MK6, however it seems like a lot of the people that have also done this swap are all gatekeeping. I hid so many dead ends talking to owners of these swaps trying to gather info. That’s not how I like to play, so oops it’s all online now 🤷♂️
Absolutly true, I also feel the same thing in my country Indonesia, especially for the Volkswagen community which is a bit passive here, and also I am doing a project to swap an R36 engine into my Golf MK4, I feel like I'm walking alone, because you know man it is very difficult to get information about doing projects that are not very common, but the project must continue,
Appreciate documenting this! People talk about it in forums but only share so much on what’s needed to make it happen. I’ve yet to see someone document a swap into a manual mk6 as well. Usually a DSG with the vr6 from the CC
Yessir no problem! The whole 5-part swap vid series was in the name of anti-gatekeeping. I have the full parts list published in the description of those videos. Working on getting the wiring documents out too.
For real dude, I’m not trying to be corny or cliche. If you set your mind to something, take your time, surround yourself with the right resources, try hard, and ask the right questions… you can do anything. You got this!
@@JIPPVideo of course! I had so many doors slammed in my face when I was trying to get this project going. Too much gatekeeping around this swap. You just gotta get outta your own way sometimes and fake it til you make it 😎
This is amazing. Your are right, i was lookijg into doing this swap into my mk7. Seems that asking people that have completed this swap just leave me on read. Dont understand the gatekeeping? Once i get closer to sourcing out the motor I might reach out to pick your brain. Shouldnt be too far off the mk6. Going to binge the series now on my day off. Ha!
Really enjoyed this bro, I just bought a clean mk5 wolfsburg jetta 2.0t with high mileage but cheap... I'm looking into doing a turboed R36 swap and would like to find out some more about your build. Thanks
Wow your car looks amazing you did a great job on it I salute you for all the hard work hope and pray all your dreams come true hopefully one day I could run in to you I’m also located in nc I too have a vw is not as nice as yours lol but I too love my car
Why you didn't check the crankshaft bearing and pistons? What if start burning oil in a short time and you have to take everything apart again? For that huge project, it will be safer to rebuild the whole engine
Off camera I did. I didn’t find anything so I left that footage out in an attempt to keep things “short” (yes I know they’re still lengthy videos). I filmed and edited all these myself with the exception of 3 days out of 8 months, so 1) it’s hard to decide what stays and what goes, and 2) sometimes I just didn’t film and would put my head down and WORK. This isn’t ever going to be a high HP build so I didn’t find it necessary to do pistons and rods especially since they looked great.
Great video I was thinking of doing this to my mk6. But I was thinking about putting in the Atlas V6 is it a different in horse power between the older v6 and newer ones 🤔
Great first video bro 😎 well done 👍🏼
Thanks so much!

Sometimes you just need to put your head down and keep grinding. I certainly had several moments where I did that on my swap
Great video Chobey! Looking forward to seeing each step of this project!

You’ll need an atlas 3.6 and ECU. It’s the only MQB 3.6
Chobey awesome content I can’t wait to see your Mk6 when it’s finished. It was great meeting you in January. Keep the content coming 🫡👏🏾.

All the 3.6s are 99% the same. It’s just the engine management that’s different. The atlas ECU won’t work in a mk6 though.
nice man. keep em coming))
Thanks, will do!
Quick question, will be able to get a BCM plug pinout list from elsawin?? Won’t come up on Erwin at all.
Yes I believe you can 👌

Cost was definitely an initial setback but I was able to recoup about 75% of my money selling off all the old 2.0T stuff
