Oh my GOD ! The horror….water on the floor. You are one tough dude to subject yourself to water on the floor. I don’t know how you made it through that ordeal.
Stinky swamp water...
He clearly needs a big strong man like you to do his water schlepping while he does the skilled stuff.
@twatmunro….I can handle the “skilled stuff” growing up working for my fathers plating company and now running it myself. Metal refinishing is my business. If I offended your gay love for this hydrophobic man I apologize.
The twatman reported my comment and had it removed….nice!
@@twatmunro I have the skills, are you a big strong man?
Great video mate, keep up the good work. New sub here 🎉🎉
Reckon this came onto my feed because I’ve spent too much time in the East Midlands recently 😂 clocked the accent straight away. Great to see how these are done, always wondered how damage was repaired
First time watching your channel. It's a great video, you explained every step really clearly with great detail about the various processes and problems you encountered along the way to producing a fabulous set of wheels that looked brand new,, and you even put tyre shine on to really finish the stunning look of the wheels, hopefully this video will education people to taking it to a professional in the first place to getting it done properly. I'll see some more of your videos. I really enjoyed this video, one last thing i would say is take no notice of silly comments from people moaning about the video... They know nothing.
Lesson to everyone out there, always remember to drain your compressor tanks, if not your just filling your tyres full of water 😂
doesn't sanding down curb rash just make a low spot? What about welding the rash?
You forgot to put the balance water back
🤣🤣
@@thewheelman.co.uk_don't you have a wet vac 🤔
Acrilic laquer is not the best but it is moor flexible etc
I really hate the 19-inch black-painted wheels that came with my new BMW. Is it a good idea to do a color change to silver? Or is it better to wait a couple of years and then change the color? Thanks!
why are the wheel bolt contact surfaces powder coated? shouldn't they be completely bare (like the contact surface with the wheel hub) so that the contact surface is not affected by loose powder coating, only asking because the guys who do it for me hang the rim in the centering hole and put extra small balls in the holes so that the conical surfaces remain bare
Yeah, probably not a problem if you follow procedure when refitting the wheels and tighten then loosen and re-tighten to spec after the first 30 miles or so but in the real world not many people do that.
@@Rroff2 A friend of mine lost a wheel on his rally car after the powder coating on the bolt faces softened from the heat of the brakes and all the wheel nuts came loose.
It might be fine for road cars, but if you intend to take them to the track (or a rally stage), you want the surfaces bare metal.
Yep not a professional job, as you say they should not have powder coat on the wheel nut seats, the wheel nuts will come loose over time, seen it many times, usually on DIY jobs, pros should know better
Wow what a transformation they look so much better. I'll be in touch to get my wheels refurbed soon :)
He’s back 🙌🏼
It took long enough 🤣
Serious question, but how does the water get in the tyre ?
We filmed this 10 weeks ago and we still haven’t figured it out. Made absolutely no sense 🤣
Good shout, my thoughts as well. Maybe condensation forming somehow ???
Exactly m thoughts
Compressor had water in it?
It was put in there - poor mans dynabeads
Fantastic job, not far from you near Mansfield. Got an Audi S3 with lacquer starting to come away, almost like plastic. There is no wheel damage, can you give a rough cost estimate?
Cost to do this?
How did water get inside the tyre if it was air tight
how the water get in
Remove valve core, Fill the tyre with 70psi, let the air pressure shoot the water out of the tyre outside👍🏻
Spraying with only an extractor fan and no particulate mask. Unwise in the long run. Wheels look great, how about your lungs?
You've popped up on my feed which is uncanny as I use moto round corner for mots 😂
How much does it cost to do a full set of 19” alloys in gloss black ?
How long is a piece of string? You'd need to show them the condition of the wheels in the first place as it's all labour and time.
i'm all for people giving it a go but did he put them on with water already in?
Great job on the wheels. Wish my Ferrari wheels turned out this good but it’s based on experience and someone who knows what they are doing. My wheel guy sadly let me down.
Great job great video 👍
Very well done 👍
Goes to show what looks like a tyre off and refurb job turns in to something a lot more. Did you charge the customer for lost time with all that water in the tyre to sort ?
Nice job, they look great
Bitching about having to do wheel refurb ….. looks pretty straight forward to me?
Absolutely Brilliant!
great content btw! Thank you!! however!!!! why not invest in a squeegee stick instead of wasting so many shop towels??!
Every jackass in America who calls these round things "rims" should have to watch this video 100 times. I hate that reference! They are effing WHEELS!!! Good video, you really saved those pitiful wheels.
The're called rims in Australia 😊
Shouldn't you outgas before you blast?
U done a cadburys purple
Yea we’ve got a Cadbury’s purple powder. We’ve filmed some content using that colour. Just need to finish filming it and get it edited. We’ll try and get it out early in the new year 👍🏻
@ sounds good to me
I don't get the point of this video!! Regardless wether the damage was done by the customers own hands or the customer driving the vehicle and kerbing them, a wheel refurb isn't just a set of wheels that come to you without a mark for you just to colour change. The price of a wheel refurb is to strip, repair/paint each wheel!! I don't understand the moaning about what the customer has done, he's sent them to you because his attempt failed but I'm sure you have had wheels way more damaged than these???
😂
the point is, he's trying to say don't attempt this at home kids or you'll end up taking it to a professional to do the job.
Nog niet
I guess kerbing damage is all on the outside edge and easy to reach and repair, while this stuff was down in the crevices of the spokes etc and harder to tidy up.
Can you refurbish the inside mine have been hammered by pot holes and all loosing air from the bead over a few days
They don't have wet/dry vacuums where you live? Every home and business has one here.
spectacular result
Those wheels have been painted in 2 pack. Very hard to remove with paint stripper
It was diddy not pac
Lovely job dude, what stripper do you use, look mint
Perhaps invest a couple of quid in a small water pump to empty the tyre if water collection is a regular occurence?
What happened to PPE.
Go back to bed 😂
Your shop floor looks like it could use some water actually. Just sayin'
great job !
Is powder coat ok to breathe in when you’re blasting away maskless ??
Asking for The health and Safety Executive who may be popping down if it’s not
I dunno I’m just asking 😂
It's all extracted at the back of the booth
Great channel mate. Consider me your 885th subscriber with bell notifications on!
Quality work
I don't get the freak out about the water, is that just for the adding drama to the content for views?
When a customer call me for repairing his/her DIY fuckups I always charged them double.
Ma zakuni se iz sve snage...
Or do it properly and weld the imperfections to build up the hollows ,seems like you don’t really know what your doing it seems to me that you just want to do a quick job get paid and get rid of the wheels back to the customer you showing this video would certainly put me off having work done by you
As a welder with a lot of wheels welded, i can tell you his way is the right one fot this given situation. When you weld materials and heat is introduced an internal stresses are forming, and this can cause unwanted behavior of the materials. These are small-scale imperfections if you can remove it with sandpaper and blasting, it isn't worth the time effort and risk of cracking the wheel on the first pothol.
It's only paint mate.
I can imagine that customer kerbing those rims within the first month again anyway.......
Add 300€ more on the price for the mess
No mouth protection (mask) while spraying?
Nice job lad's.
You really should be wearing a mask when powder coating
Black wheels are so played out - thank goodness the did silver.
Why don't you wear goggles and mask when powder coating?
Because he has an extractor fan that pull everything away from him
@Mrtweet81 not good enough. So it pollutes the outside with superfine microplastics instead. Very poor format.
Why use an acid bath?
To aid in top coat adhesion
Most probably methylene chloride(not acid) to remove the old powder coat, sand blasting isn't very effective at removing powder coat.
Not sure that you are top end of this trade. I would have expected some tick welding to cover defects and a CNC lathe as a minimum to finish off to a OED standard.
Should have used a wet vac and just sucked the water up
See you in the 30th 👍✌️ bet he’s broke the bead to mask the tyres and washed the wheels off 💦
I think he went at it with paint stripper and an axe 🤣
@ 😂😂😂🤦♂️
Just wanna know why the f are you wear winter jacket, winter hat and shorts?
They are definitely the worst crime syndicate on this planet
people always rattle canning their wheels black because its cheap and unimaginative, but it always looks terrible.
thought that was yianni in the thumbnail.
It's hardly worth it. Cost blowout with all the work on old wheels, probably better off buying new wheels .
It’s only water, could be worse.
I've seen worse. Best one I saw is somone straight up walk out of halfords and rattle can there wheels there and then haha.
Great job but the shop is a mess..!
Lol, thanks to the glaring down votes and lively comments section I've realised this amateur shte channel isn't worth my time. Shame on YT for recommending it.
Hope you charge them extra £100 for the added work . Top job in the end
