Greg, that's not how you grease up a bearing. You glob the grease onto the palm of your hand and then slowly drag the open part of the bearing into the grease filling the bearing with grease. Just an observation.
Nice! Fortunately a tire carrier bearing =/= aerospace grade bearing. Didn't even do this much for the last one and it works like a champ almost a year out
Hey Greg, I've used the Draw-tite 5443 hitch mount plate holder on several builds, should do the trick... or install two nutserts onto the spare tire holder carrier and mount the plate by the open and close mechanism either way pick up a plate light too.
First ill start by saying i enjoy your channel. But this bumper is probably fine for going to the mall but itll never hold up off road nor will your license plate location. Ditch the china crap as the saying goes sometimes free isnt cheap enough. On an upnote metal cloak is legit looking forward to seeing you use their stuff. Peace
Hear you. License plate is just a temporary solution.. not the final location. Have had 0 issues with this rear bumper both on and off road - as you know we've had one for nearly a year now. No Brainer for the price. Can't say the same about our American made one on the Jku
I'll be negative nancy for a minute. I have the same bumper but from 2 summers ago. Looks good, rigid enough. So i never hooked up the reverse flood lights but thats ok because they are full of water after a month. I just said whatever, cheap chinese junk as usual. I moved on. Took about a week after i got the bumper and noticed the lock for the latch don't work anymore. They actually sent me another latch, straight from China of all places. Well it worked and I was happy until a week later the lock on the latch failed and if you tear it apart there doesn't seem to be a way to fix it. I'd say 6 months later i noticed some rattling. Go figure the rubber stopper next to the latch that the arm slams into has hardened and shrunk leaving almost an 1/8" gap of rattle. I fixed that by cutting some new green kitchen scrubbies into 1" strips and piling them in there until the rattle stopped. Still don't have a lock that works. last which is nobodys fault so to say. If your jeep is leaning to the passenger side on angled blacktop. Your tire is gonna swing right open and hit the parked car next to you. Wish they had a pin with a hole next to the bearing side so you can lock your tire from whacking the dudes Ferrari next to you while your loading your groceries. But besides those sorta minor things its a decent bumper. Your gonna want to make some rubber stopper extensions so the top of your tire is pressed against them so the tire don't do the jiggly wiggly all the time over bumps, cracks and holes. Thats it. Guess I just reviewed my bumper on your page, oops.
We actually have this bumper on our white TJ and have had 0 issues over the last year. It's been absolutely solid. Love the latch mechanism, that's why we got another.
Hello, the 3 shorty lug nuts you got for the tire carrier spacer what size socket did you use? because I had to do the same thing got some shorties but didn't have enough room for my socket to fit in the lug hole to tighten the spacer down. 😢
Really enjoy watching your channel. That new rear bumper is nice. Just a little to big for my taste. I'm running a Warn with the swing out tire rack. Keep up the great videos.
Just recieved that exact same bumper and tire carrier, but it had been dropped and the driver side top end has a big dent in it.. and the swing out tire carrier does not align with the latch. It's about 2 inches to high.. I really like this bumper to. hopefully the dealer will make it right. Great video guys. I have also heard to that you can use just lubricating oil instead of grease.
@@Garagecouple how are you .. i have a question for u guys.. how likely is for a 2015 jeep wrangler to have the penstar tik tik on the engine.. it is expensive to fix it.. i need help before i trade in my 2015 wrangler please

Nice! I'm sure the bearings were fully greased, but good to know there are multiple ways to do it!
@@GaragecoupleI actually learn how to properly grease bearing in the AF tech school for Aircrafts.

Nice! On the list of things for sure
That rear looks super super nice! You should put a white Led on the reverse light of the tail light so it matches with the bumper ones
Yes! That's a great idea!
Can’t believe y’all took a quality bumper off and put Amazon crap on the LJ. Was hoping the LJ would get top of the line stuff :(
Sorry to disappoint but we love this rear bumper.. have had one on the other TJ and haven't had any issues. It's well made.
Can't compare the two. This bumper is solid and a tire carrier.

Feels like 28F here in MA. I want to buy your LJ to complement my TJ
It's coming together! Beautiful jeep to drive.

@@Garagecouple they must be sending the bad ones to MN. 😀.
I’m interested in the spare tire holder. I’m in the Inland Empire
It's all yours. Shoot us an email to coordinate pickup
I would love the back bumper for my LJ! I am still running the factory bumper.
Make the move. The price is right especially with the code and black friday!
Did you choose someone for the bumper you removed yet?
The first person who commented gets first dibs. Awaiting their email. You would be #3
