That "clamp" is a copper pipe cutter used by plumbers. Gently clamp it on a small piece of copper pipe & tighten it while rotating it around the pipe until cut through. Wirks great. I have several for cutting both copper & steel pipes.
I suggest that before installing the body armor and tightened the screws in place , to add a bead of silicone at the top so water doesn’t get behind the armor and starts rusting out the body on the jeep .
That C-clamp that you were asking about is a plumbers tool. It clamps around copper pipe and you turn / twist it until you cut through the copper pipe.
Can't go wrong with MC. Build quality speaks for itself. Made In The USA & the world would be a better place if everyone had the level of customer service that MC does...and that's coming from a Rock Krawler guy. Their diehard customers are tribal and loyal to a fault. Loving the direction y'all are taking with this build. Only "problem" is once you've gotten a taste of the good stuff there's no settling for less. As for the Raptor lining. I know 4 cans wasn't enough unless you settled for 1 coat which I don't recommend plus you should've most definitely laid down a coat of their etching primer first. You're going to have issues with that in the future. Ask me how I know.
It’s easier to get the flares off if you cut them in half long ways. The plastic bolts wrecked my fingers so using pliers is a must unless you just grind em. I really like trifold rivets on new flat flares too. It’s solid. I got a metal set from eBay for 100$ shipped. Yitamotor was the brand
Never used a tube cutter as a C clamp before but if it works use it. lol I like your attitude "We're doing it our way" ... that's all that matters. Carry on.
@Garagecouple love the vidoes...wish you would have time to get all the Metalcloak videos up...before their big sale this weekend! I want to pull the trigger on their fenders and rocksliders.
Hate to break the news but If you didn't sand down those corner guards or spray some etching primer that Raptor lining is going peel off and 1 layer isn't going to suffice. FYI, you linked the wrong armor. You linked the Steel ones instead of aluminum.
Because of you guys, i bought a set of Rocktrix, did the black classic seven spoke. I love them. Running 35x12.5 baja boss ATs on the rocktrix 17x9 with the negative twelve offset...i couldnt be happier
Your C clamp is a plumbers copper pipe cutter. You place it on the pipe and spin it while tightening at the same time. 😆
That's very cool!
Your special clamp is indeed a pipe/tubing cutter, it is mainly used for brake lines for cars.
