I've been a Cars fan since 1978, the year their debut was released. I was only 8. By 1983, I was 13 and foaming-at-the-mouth for Ric's solo album, Beatitude. I was at the perfect age to absorb this brooding, mysterious electronic gem. The song, "Jimmy Jimmy" flickers in the unconscious mind. One night I experienced this special Ric Ocasek concert on TV and taped it on my VCR. If I could only find the VHS tape. Glad it's on UA-cam. Thank you for uploading.
I remember this on TV in 1983 and the audio was simulcast on a local FM station so you could hear it in stereo. Stereo TVs were a long way off then. Krokus was the other band on this show and I have the audio to another show with Donny Iris, Shooting Star and Red Ryder. It seems that ROCK STARS PERFORM LIVE IN CONCERT found it in their heart to upload the other shows. The audio is great.

🙏RIP-Ric🙏 I was lonely 😔 in my mid school years. I’m Class of”1987” Love this album by Rio Ocasek Beatitude solo album. I got this on CD 💿 and on Vinyl Record. ✌️🙏👍
remember hearing this on a concert and at the time taped it. somehow I don't have a cassette player anymore and would loved to have it on a cd. Ric and the cars were my favorite band of all times.. The man is genius and don't know where the late 70 s and the 80 s would of been without them for me loved them since I graduated 1977,. Thanks for posting!! AWESOME Dj
I love this song since age 17 in Hilliard Ohio. I lived by the Hilliard Municipal Pool. I endured the pop music from the pool intercom. This song was longer, mellower, and cooler .:-) I loved the video...I WUZ that kid when I moved to Hollywood the next year. RIP Ric [ looks like you were smart about your money too pops;)
"I can't get anywhere making the music I want to make. So I'll write some radio-friendly ear candy for a few years. And when I'm at the peak of my success, I'll make the music I want to make." Love it.
*_RICK_* Ocasek?! *RICK?!* Really, VEVO?! You're supposed to be the record company officially uploading these videos, and you literally have a typo in your _USERNAME?_ How embarrassing.
I love that greg hawkes supported both ric and ben on their solo projects
J’adore Ric Ocasek. Repose en paix. Merci pour cette chaîne

dantetomaselli _Beatitude_ is special; it makes a virtue of claustrophobia and artificiality.
This album kind of didn't register with me at first but It's as good as any Cars record, and far better than "Heartbeat City" in retrospect.
I love Beatitude... a classic
I loved listening to Beatitude. I'm looking for the CD. I'm from Boston and saw the Cars a few times. Great years.
@@tacomadc no way. The recorded version of this song sounds very weak and quite cheap compared to the cars live version.
RIC WRITES THE SONGS WE ALWAYS HAD IN OUR IMAGINATION.

The Cars, my favorite band...Rip Ben & Ric
Jeez Casey Lindstrom just kicks ass on guitar on all these "Beatitude" clips.
Looks like he was taught to play from all the guitar hero he played as a kid.

GREG HAWKES WAS THE CARS AMAZING KEYBOARD PLAYER HAD A STYLE ALL OF HIS OWN .
He's awesome! And he's still playing. I just saw him play with Todd Rundgren.
@@AlanEricFanAlan the Heartbeat City synth riff was otherworldly cant get it out of your head stands the test of time.
Everybody in that band can’t be replaced all stars

Ric's eyes are so intense !
#RIPRicOcasek
Ric was amazing producer and singer
Notice at 46 sec that sly guitar sound that sudden change in direction or emotion was the 80s style down to a tee.
greg hawkes on keyboards..
josé de melo júnior júnior the mad scientist of synthesizers
Ric and Greg go way back. They basically started the Cars.
Awesome !! Wish i was there back in the days .... top !!
Ric is gorgeous here!
Nada como los 80s😊

So you go with "RICK" then I go with VIVO. Only problem is your misspelling his name is blatant disrespect to a true artist - FIX IT
RIP Rick
