did i ever comment on this? I LOVED Loved Loved this when it came out. Then Slowly I learned about him. then In 2008. I met him. He did a great little record W/ Shannon McNally (look it up). I asked him why he wanted to make the 1st Record he made when he Came Directly out of the Stevie Ray Vaughan school of Blues guitar playing. He told me; "Stevie would Leave the Stage, hand me HIS guitar .. i'm 14, 15..and I would Play w/ HIS Band w/o him even being on Stage. He did that w/ NO One Else.. Other people who 'sat in' Sat IN w/ Him.. which was a Thing.. BUT.. When it was time for me to make my record I wanted Keith Forsey. Keith did Billy Idol's stuff.. I wanted to BE Different than Stevie Ray Vaughan.. I wanted to be NEW! I was 17. I was not an OLD Blues Guitar kid.. I was ... " (that's a paraphrase, I wasn't taking notes.)

My cousin and I snuck in for his soundcheck at the Elmocambo in Toronto. He was so cute we had to see him! 😅
This needs to be a hit again! it's timeless
,,,, yep !
Coming from the 80's as a kid.. my older brother and cousins all agree.. this was the greatest song EVER.. I do agree after hearing it after so long.. The meaning is such a part of every single human being out there.. Being at the TOP is what we all crave for... thank you Charlie Sexton!

Listening in 2022
Reached #23 this week, March 2-8, in 1986. 35 years ago.
Charlie's work with the Arc Angels is criminally underrated.
Agreed, in fact the whole band is underrated.
Thanks❤
I remember this song on Countdown (Australia) and thinking this guy is cool! I have the D,V.D when he toured/ opened for David Bowie in Australia.
Some Kind of Wonderful: VERY underrated film.
I’m 49 and this is one of my favorite songs of all times! He was SIXTEEN when he put this song out! Are you kidding me? Who is this talented at 16? I really wish he would have continued further into his music career! Love the song, Impressed also! He was and still is one talented musician! Also HOT!!!
I'll be 50 in March. Forgot about this until today.
Would liked charlie to have done more songs i bought this single . I saw him when he toured australia with my childhood idol david bowie may ge RIP sydney australia ,2/6/2023
Was the number 1 cover band song from 1984-1985!
今聞いてもメチャメチャかっこいい。
マジ最高
I remember a group of girls in my grade were totally into him in 86’. He is hot, ahead of his time, fo sho. That’s how I got introduced to Charlie Sexton, not record store, magazines, anything like that. That was so hard back in the day without internet.❤
@@CharlieSextonMusic I’m very well thank you. I’m just saying hello about Charlie Sexton because I was reminiscing about the time in ‘86 when I -by word of mouth-first heard about Charlie Sexton. He was always really good looking, and is Good Looking Still. Hot!🖤🖤🖤
Thank you for creating a song that is timeless. XOXOXO
Very under rated, under appreciated song.
Tens across the board for this legendary song and performance. Charlie Sexton is an 80’s icon with that perfect hair and his skinny rockstar physique. To. Die. For. ✨🤘🏼😎✨
Duncan was the man coming through the door saving the day and plunking off that rich kid while this song played in the background. The extended version of this song is even better.
that was a great scene. :) I love the extended version too
Elias Koutas is the MAN.
What a great memory from my childhood. I know his brother WIll here in Austin. Both perfect guitar players. Who knew they could sing, too?
BEEN SO LONELY
Charlie Sexton is a real badass in this vid. A young gun, with a smirk of arrogance that exalts his cuteness, don't forget that manly -nicotine tainted voice... 😍😍😍😍 love him then love him now
Dinar Rahayu I forgot about this until a couple months ago. I turned 50 on the 14th of March.
He was scheduled to come to a hole in the wall called Iroquois in Roanoke, Va back in the day. A bar/young spot, underage drinking and all that. Being a high schooler at the time it was a great place to be. Lots and lots of bands, pool tables, chicks. [not meant to be derogatory in any way]. Had a ticket. and it was cancelled. I'm still sad about that........ Man O Man. The 80's!
did i ever comment on this?
Super cool cat. My friend in high school was obsessed with him and would dress like him back then. Tbh I never quite understood him fully, I couldn't put him in a category that appealed to me at the time. From this video I just remember thinking he was some Hollywood manufactured rock star meant for a movie, like Eddie and the Cruisers, and I never took him seriously. But now I see how cool and real CS was.
This song still rocks after all these years and the vocal is awesome.

2023 👏👏👏
Charlie was only 17 when he recorded this album and he played all of the instruments.
I'm hearing this song for the first time in 2021. I am.43 years old.
He was just a bud of what he is now.
I like the vocals in this song. Charlie sounds a bit like David Bowie...& looks more like a British punk rocker than a guy from Texas.
Bowie/Idol mix!
YeeeHaaaaa
Looks like John Taylor and Matt Dillon
@@johnyang1420 Two of my 80’s crushes.
@@dmotta2811 Matt Dillon from Something About Mary. Ben Stiller: How much does Mary weigh now? Matt: Deuce....Deuce and a a half. Billy Idol isn't bad either!!!!
Beat's so lonely
I bet it's lonely at the top
She hesitates
But the beat will never stop
Wanting him only
But the people never see
Her heart burning
That's the secret that she keeps
Come on baby
You know there's something missing
Don't find nothing
No more coincidences
Pretty baby
Look in his eyes and you will see
Things will happen
But only if they're meant to be
Beat's so lonely
I bet it's lonely at the top
So lonely at the top
So lonely
She said
Beat's so lonely
If you let it be that way
She can't tell the difference anyway
She thinks hold me
But she's scared to say
She paid dearly for the answers of her days
Answers of her
Answers of her days
Beat's so lonely
As she waits so patiently
Her heart's yearning
How she'd love him to see
He's not hurting
But he wouldn't mind to be
She still sees him
She sees him interestingly
Come on baby
You know there's something missing
Don't find nothing
No more coincidences
Pretty baby
Before you give him all you got
Got to come closer
You got to give it one more shot
Beat's so lonely
I bet she's lonely at the top
So lonely at the top
So lonely
She said
Beat's so lonely
If you let it be that way

This should be pinned.
he made a history 🎸
I love John Hughes & Charlie, of course.♥️🎸
Good tune ! I haven't heard this in years. I remember when this first came out , it's gotta be 40 years ago. 👍👍 Good stuff !!
I remember seeing him in the 80's as a teen and was IN LOVE with his music and style. He is still as talented as ever and still easy on the eyes.
He digs OK,,, I'm class of 89, Alamo Heights TX, this is what we jammed,,, when he joins Arc Angels,, he fuckin rocks..." Living in a dream " is The Jam.... Who agrees?
Dude was 17 yet sounded 30+.
Incredible
It was probably because of all the cigarettes.
