I always also liked that Amanda in this film was the rare example of a 'popular girl' stereotype that was fucking human and not just some shallow superficial girl. Sure, she's pretty and popular, but that doesn't define her character. She's warm, has a moral compass, she grows to stand up for herself, and at the end of the film, you never feel 'sorry' that she didn't end up getting the guy, because what she really needed was to stand on her own 'two feet' all along and follow what she knew was right. The fact that's also friends with Duncan and Watts by the end as well is beyond adorable.
