Dude was tearing it up at 15 or 16. Unbelievable magnetic charisma coolness stage presence-he had it all. Charlie was 1 in a million and should have blown up WAY bigger.
I was on vacation in Austin Texas in 2005ish and stumbled upon a club and Charlie Sexton was performing. Amazing experience, 5 feet from the stage. Unbelievable talent!
My bedroom was full of posters of Charlie and I listened to this song over and over again….. Good times..... good memories. He was so talented even though he was superyoung at the time! Greetings from Norway :-)
This is one I liked from the get go. Got this record and freaked-he was 3 years younger than I and I think he's 45. Freakin incredible, and still his all hail Mr.Sexton.
Totally agree, my husband and I were laughing at that hair last night - he reckoned there was a touch of Prince hair in there as well...either way...love love love
Great song and great video. I always loved this song. Heard this in loop, in a road trip with friends when I was young and proudly stupid and mad. We drove from Milano to Alicante non stop. Weird days, I miss them.
Saw them perform this at the Star theater in Youngstown as the second set following Donnie Iris, in 1985. They never topped the energy of that show, and yet Donnie Iris is in his seventies now and still kicking butt.
Excelente rola, rítmica con un manejo de guitarra sencillo y rocanrolera que hace recordar los 50's, claro con una voz joven que hace recordar al maestro Bowie, en fin que buena canción, gracias Sexton
An awesome classic from the 80's. The whole album was fantastic...must have played that tape to death, till I got the CD. :D Slick production by Keith Forsey over all. Charlie is one of the quiet yet talented musicians from that time, and still performs to this day. This song is just great!!!
Fumble Stumble Stagger and Gag. LOL. I was with Tracks at Schwab-atraz in 87. Don't remember the first time I heard this song, but he is rarely remembered or played.
I still remember the first time I went out to Honoko, or the "Ville" across from Camp Hansen. That mildew, humidity, and spilled beer smell everywhere.... mama-san's as old as dirt trying to get you to buy them "drinkey." LOL
@@dogfather68 wasn't it called kinville? Did my last tour 91-92 in Hansen. Small world. Gonna be 54 before the year ends and all that seems like this morning.
Yeah, we always referred to it as the "Ville." Coming from Schwab always required a taxi. Buses were rare, over crowded and not frequent. To this day, I still say Camp Schwab was prison with a furlough. I was at Schwab-atraz 87-88. Fuetema 93-94, and again 95-96. Yeah, I remember it like it was yesterday too.
I love it. Never heard this before but this is exactly the style of 80s I have been looking for . Came up by accident looking for a scene out of taxi driver . 😂
Agreed He is very talented musician. People said if he is from LA or other big.city than texas could have been more successful. understand he was big in Japan. Recently he was in film "boyhood" as a musician also great film.
After Stevie Ray Vaughn died, he did a Hellacious album with Double Trouble. The name of the band was the 'Arc Angels'. Three great songs that got airplay on that album. I have the CD.
@@lyndonpack8048 Arc Angels were really awesome......Charlie, Doyle Bramhall II ,AND Leland Sklar??…...correct me if I'm wrong..... was that the "The Barefoot Servants"?
@@wabbitt-so6uf Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon from Double Trouble, Charlie and Doyle were the Arc Angels. I would pay to see them now if they toured and did a few of SRV's songs.
Yeah I gotta to say to everyone who listened to this in the 80's; you loved it a million times over & if you say you didn't.....well you're just lying to yourself & the rest of us know it.
I remember the rumor of him joining Duran Duran when their guitarist left. It would have definitely been an upgrade. However we would have lost his great work.
He was my first concert in Eugene when I was...13? And now at 50. I'm emotional. Charlie and I spent many hours together in my crucial years. Not literally, of course. Sadly. I waited close to 4 hours after the show to catch a glimpse . Got chased by security. Took my camera and when i decided to fight authority. Memories. I'm going to try like hell to meet him now at 50! Wish me luck at McMenamins June 2nd. I'm just putting it out there. ❤
@dragonlady1970 He's been around here in Austin the whole time playing here and there. He played with the Arc Angles, Bob Dylan and his brother Will. I think he didnt really like the spotlight of being the lead. Plus this album is probably the best way to remember him... Young and on fire!
I am here because my 8 year-old son asked me on the way to the school drop off this very morning, "Mommy. Do I have to get married?" "No, you don't." "Oh, okay. I thought I had to." "No. you can be married. If you choose to do it. NEVER think you have to do it." Then, I remembered this song. :D
wow!!!!! i miss these days . i fn loved this song. now that im older i can see he is talented and was way miss manged his vioce is strong . he could have gone further
@PAULLONDEN In the 80's I had many guy friends who stole this guys style from the hair to the clothes. lol This was the most underrated album. He should have blown off the charts with it.
I agree that most of the "public" doesn't know who he is, but, as mentioned, he was in Arc Angels with Doyle Bramhall III, and the Double Trouble rhythm section......and not just guitarist with Bob Dylan, but Bob's Musical Director. That's pretty impressive!
@Atsuhiatsuko It's in Los Angeles. One of the L.A. river channels. It rarely rains here so it's usually always dry. Other movies that it was used for was Escape From New York (listen to the director's commentary on the DVD), The Italian Job (when they were testing the modified Mini-Cooper's) and quite a few more, just can't remember right now. :)
This was the follow up hit to "Beats So Lonely"which hit the top 20 in March of 86....this song was definately top 40 material but I guess a lot of people wern't "impressed" with it......it barely made the top100
Never understood why Charlie wasn't bigger back in the day. Great singer, great guitarist, good song writer and those Duran Duran looks.
He reminds me of Matt Dillon with amazing cheekbones!
TOOOOO MUCH TRUTH AND LIFE,,, look at the crowd,,,not your spandau youth of today,,, filled with your parents...He was a threat to the devil too much.
Dude was tearing it up at 15 or 16. Unbelievable magnetic charisma coolness stage presence-he had it all. Charlie was 1 in a million and should have blown up WAY bigger.
I never get tired of this song. Everyone always would ask, "Who is Charlie Sexton?" Then I would play this song.
jill krovoza live performance is bad .
I bet he is great, Have a old friend that he said was great to see also. Only person I know that knows the name..
Of course, this song was written by Tonio K.
He's my cousin😎
Me too I never get tired of this song especially '' just a bunch of loosers '' that will be graved forever in my head
I was on vacation in Austin Texas in 2005ish and stumbled upon a club and Charlie Sexton was performing. Amazing experience, 5 feet from the stage. Unbelievable talent!
Yay yay- I agree; did not get the fame or money he should have . Life is cruel sometimes.
Absolutely 💯 ❤should of been big star for sure
Still music to my ears even after 30 yrs.....
Hey Lisa still so strong in my Heart moves me luv u Charlie! Was an 80s kid!
And easy on the eyes as well!
You know it!!!
He should’ve been in the exact same category and fame that Billy Idol achieved
Even more because he plays guitar...
His perfect skin, bone structure, voice and guitar skills... dude!!!!
And don’t forget those lips! Wow!
Has to be in the Top 5 Greatest 80's songs....I am impressed!!!! : )
l'm impressed of how huge bridies tits are LMFAO
Where are you in 2020 Charlie Sexton??? Such a talent.
Ripping voice. So want to see Charlie and his brother live. Sick guitar. Blows me away that he didn’t continue with his solo career
LOVE this Charlie Sexton song!! Ahhhh the memories of the 80's.......

Wow you wrote some great comment I wish I could see your old bedroom fantastic !
Totally underrated artist, loved Charlie!
Should've been a huge star, incredible voice and guitar player, heart throb looks and unbelievable that he was only 17 at this time
Im with u babe on Sexton!
afterlife4u2 I second that!!!

So, so true!
@@raptormcqueen1577 He joined Bob Dylan's band as a guitarist.
....and Will Sexton...some of Austin's finest...Charlie even had the good taste to cover the great John Hiatt...that should leave you impressed
今でも、大好き😆💕
Ahead of his time-- he would have torn up American Idol in the 00's and it still holds up, so fresh and a such a clean voice.
Super X factor talent.
I AM impressed!
🤘😎🎸🎤💋❤
Very underrated,should of been HUGE!
no matter how times i hear this it is still one of the best songs now as much as when I listened to it in the 80's
Such an 80’s icon. ❤ I don’t want to sound old but most of today’s music just doesn’t have any soul in it.
Have you heard his work with the Arc Angels?
@@PJHVols , I have not listened yet but I will be.
Awesome tune, I remember seeing Charlie in concert when i was in High School in San Diego back in 86
Bought this album three times due to being worn out or lost. Way ahead of its time. And the stuff he did with Arcangels is even more impressive....
Still crushing on this kid so hard...
Heheh das my cousin!
Seriously.. he is absolutely gorgeous.. like a combination of Matt Dillon and Edward Scissor Hands
Charlie can ROCK with the best of them because.... he IS one of the best - of them.
So true.. He Is.
+Me LI Charlie is the answer to 99% of guitar players on the planet.
Catching up..like 300 years later but never late ...it's fashionable in an 80s way..
I'm a late bloomer. .so they say
