@@deborahrohl7690 sorry I was founded this band before
But they're space aliens.
We danced!!
I was lucky enough to meet Michael in an elevator in Chicago with my family. He was doing his laundry in our hotel. He recognised us as being fellow Aussies. He was a true gentleman, kind, interesting to talk to and made the time to stop and chat. I have never forgotten the experience and I feel privileged to have met him whilst he was on tour😀
How blessed were you guys to meet a true soul…
❤
Wow you are so lucky I wish I could have met him...I'm not an angel or superhero by any means but I wish he was saved. What a waste to be gone so young.I wish I couldve seen him in concert...did you see his concert?
Yes he was a gentleman, i met him when he was dating Kylie at the Hydro Majestic in Meadlow Bath in the Blue Mountains in late 80's they were both so nice gave me the autograph for my girlfriend at the time. She still has that autograph to this day signed both Kylie and Michael. I know this cause i still live in the mountains and ex brothers kids dance with mine and his wife told my wife
So why did he have to off himself?
Been my favorite INXS song since it was released and still is. Still rock out to it after all these decades 😊

unsung heros' ❤️❤️🎼❤️☮️🌏
I have been given the task of learning the drums on this song as well as 4 others by INXS. My first thought was, "this should be easy enough".
The songs are easy enough to fake your way through but playing them correctly has been a challenge. 90% of his work is simple kick snare patterns to give the songs a solid back ground. The other 10% are what makes this guy a great drummer. All the individual "fill" parts are simple but landing the right parts in the right places is frying my brain :)
Most cover band drummers wouldn't put in the work but I like the challenge. My motivation is, in a fantasy world, if the artist ever saw me play he would say, "you almost got it right right" :)
This brought a tear to my eye.😢 1982, I was 20 and at the peak of my 'spring' youth. I grew up with the best music. My parents being Greek immigrants always had music playing from their prized Greek records, from the 60's, but also the hits from the crooners Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams and my favourite Dean Martin, later, it was Elvis, Engelbert and Tom Jones. Then came ABBA, Sweet (Ballroom Blitz) still the best, Queen, Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy, and so many more. Music from the 60's, 70's and 80's, was on fire🔥🔥🔥 AND, I MISS THIS ICONIC BAND and the incredible Hutch so much. He oozed a special charisma, a cross between Jagger and Morrison. Life feels so empty without INXS, George Michael, Princess Diana, Donna Summer, 💔💔💔 Thank God Australia still has, Barnsey, Farnsey, ACDC, and so many more giants, past & present in Australian music. ❤❤❤ Now, 40 years later, cannot believe it's 40 years later, and I'll 62 this July 2024. Life has sped by in a blink of an eye. So, as the late great Robin Williams said, "Carpe Diem, seize the day..." cheers to you Michael 🍸❤

Might have been the 3 glasses of red wine, but as I was watching this just now, I broke down in tears. I had to get up and leave the room because I was so overwhelmed-blubbering like a little baby. This song reminds me of the early 80s when I was in jr high. My whole life was ahead of me and this song was my anthem back then. I'm now 49, barely survived a heart attack recently, and can't believe how fast the time has gone by.
I hear you sister. We knew then what we know now. We are headed to the next place-and it's so good
I don't know you but I'm glad you're still around to enjoy this music with us.
I can relate, 45 with health problems, time goes fucking A fast I know, sometimes I hear a note takes me back and I'll well up, ...Al Stewart's song " Time Passages " sums up this feeling the best to me
I'm with ya there
@Manybugs - Peace, and Love to You My Friend. I too get emotional when I see these videos...in some ways it feels like only yesterday, and yet in other ways it feels as if it were a million years ago. It's a strange thing, that we're finding ourselves further away from those times, and from who we were, as every day goes by...it can be sad, but you're not alone in your feelings. Many of us feel as you do, and understand. I wish you all the best.
God I loved this band, when I was a kid I had the hugest crush on this girl across the street who was like 3 years older than me and her room was full of INXS posters. I use to sing this song to her and she would giggle and say “you’re cute”, but I wasn’t trying to be cute, I was trying so hard to be romantic. Years later we reconnected and today she’s my wife and we danced to this song at our wedding and I play this song for our two baby girls. Music bounds us all together, makes us cry, makes us love, rock... don’t change. ❤️
That is the most beautiful story ❤️

Just about to turn 53 in 3weeks and it's one of my favorite songs ever. So many memories from the 80's i cry everytime I hear it!
So true! I'm 53 too! I literally forgot this song existed and all of a sudden it popped while listening to music. I was immediately transported back, dancing and being carefree!
So...Cheryl used to be a "he" back in the 80's. Got it.
80's Music Was Great. Lively, Dynamic, With A Huge Variety Of Styles. I think young musicians burning with desire to make it had a better chance somehow with the record companies then. Now we have youtube and social media which provides opportunity for exposure but talent and exposure need to meet with the financial backing and star power know-how that a record company can offer.
Me too. Luckily, I got my now 20-year old daughter into the music from my generation and any good music from years before too. She actually just texted me that she heard this song on the radio where she was at, which brought me here.
Don't change for you, don't change for me; about as true as it gets. INXS was a big part of what made the 80's the great decade of music that it was.

At almost 21 years old I find myself really missing an era I was never apart of. The music was just so damn good. The 80's seemed like such a special time
The music is still there, my friend. Seek it out. Make it part of 2020 for you. We have never had an opportunity like we do now to experience these songs at our fingertips at a moments notice. Although I grew up in the 1980s, and am damn grateful for that, I envy you in the fact that you get to hear these songs brand new, for the very first time.
Yes it was! Such talented musicians (artists), no auto tunes, just pure talent!
I had my 12th birthday in 1980, It was a great time
Well...if you deduct global nuclear warfare...it wasn't bad. This was part of the 81-83 New Wave run. Totally different from what came before or after. Corporate new wave via MTV took over in 84. INXS still rolled out some good tunes in the later 80's...as did other bands. And we had AIDS!
In hindsight it felt special- the early 80's was a unique window of time. As a young boy, the world was exploding and things were changing very quickly. We went from an analog world to a brave new beautiful time very quickly, and it was all "for us"...the music really belonged to kids for a short time- it felt very independent and it was unlike anything that had happened previously....New wave, synth pop, Ska, early hiphop on MTV as well as Star Wars, Alien, Raiders of the Lost Ark, BMX, skateboarding, and arcade video games. Fun times- much more carefree.
One of the greatest, underrated 80’s songs. Remarkably holds up in modern times, with its polished mid-2000’s indie rock feel. The best.
mid-2000's the "post-punk revival" was around that time, so it fits.
Best song by far of the 80s
I used to love going snowboarding to this song. Blazing down the mountain with this on was just an amazing feeling.
I have always considered the most underrated song I have ever heard.
I honestly thought this was a 2000's rock song when I first heard it, Imagine my shock when I see 1982 on here!
I saw them in Christchurch in a small pub in 1978 with about 30 people watching I said to my now wife of 40years this band are bound for greatness they didn't let us down

Younger people may not realize, but this song helped put MTV on the map. Back in the early 1980’s this was on at least 1 time an hour. I could count on watching it during my lunch break every day. It was my favorite then, and favorite now. I’ll always associate this song with Ft. Collins Colorado, a broke-ass lunch of a butter roll, and programming BASIC on a Tandy Color Computer. Great memories. Wouldn’t change for anything.

By far their best song. So powerful and moving. Michael Hutchence in this song is beyond words. He is irreplaceable. RIP Michael.
Beach, Skate, beer, party life……. 80’s. Let’s pray for a revival. Want my kids to get a taste of this life.
Yeah well 47 will give them the closest thing they will ever feel to what the 80s were like.
💔 Happy Birthday Michael 💔
We’re still here, pal. 🎧
This is one of those songs that you never get tired of listening to no matter how many times you play it! Huge INXS fan, definitely one of my all time favorites ❤ Shabooh Shoobah is filled with so many great songs 🎶
This is SO taking me back to high school! One of the best New Wave songs to come out of that era. We were all so young.
INXS really rocks. Why doesn't this very good tune have, at least, 28 million likes?
This song broke the band into the big time yet a few decades later, it never gets mentioned as far as their big hits. Love this tune. It’s still fresh, upbeat, and there’s an innocence about it.
This was their followup tune 2 their debut hit "The One Thing"
Both these songs were underrated. Their big hits came in the late 80's.
Was the same with U2.
It is strange that INXS and especially Hutchence tried to erase them from the collective memory through the tabloid press that many times had from where thanks to Hutchenche's bad personal decisions as a result of a serious brain injury and the neglect of all because it was visible he needed help and was crying out for it. Today the last rock frontman is remembered and missed, it will be many years before he sees another artist like him whose presence filled the stage without much adornment.
Alot of 80's band feel left behind, don't get there due, thanks to the internet alot of younger people are discovering the 80's ruled !!!!
RIP Michael Hutchence, one of the best front men ever.
Such a fucking miss!! You beautiful stunning Man and your magnificent band!!
Yes, he was. A man ahead of his time musically.
100
@@BrianCarnevaleB26 aww it’s terrible he died before us!!
Writer, producer, sex symbol, lead singer, model magnet and overall good guy
Who else can’t believe that this song is nearly 40 years old already???
That’s perspective...
Jesus 40 years?! 😢😦😭
Unbelievable...🤯
@hanlonmichael16 1982
Realized in 1982 inxs Australia
Man there’s an innocence to this video. This is before they became international rock stars and it becomes a business. Like when you first start a band and do it for the love.
I do understand what you mean. However, I heard that even before they became international rock stars, they were into wild living. Michael Hutchence always seemed to have girlfriends, and Tim Farriss wasn't all that innocent, either.
I agree
this is a slick production, don't be fooled. these people know what they are doing, perhaps magnitudes better than you can realise.
@@atomictraveller I agree. It was probably meant to make the group look innocent, because people seem to like that.
This was one of their first hits, some of them must have still been teenagers.
Still one of the greatest rock songs ever. Never fails to overwhelm me with feelings I don't even understand.
I'm from Virginia myself and love this song.
I agree
me too.....
I had the same thing happen with another song. I was going through a rough patch and I eventually realized that it triggered memories of a time where I had no worries, etc. It was like a smack in the face.
That's a beautiful way of putting it
They're in an industrial garage somewhere in Australia, in the 80's; and this song is still one of the most badass songs of all time. Timeless!
Great video, but who plays a keyboard on a rack like that?
@@1969rockers My mom does, sometimes.
This was such a favorite of mine on MTV back in 1983 when I was a college freshman, that whenever it played on MTV on our common TV in the Student Union building, I would literally race over to it as soon as I heard it in the background .I TOTALLY LOVE THIS SONG ...
Being a teenager in the mid 80’s. Who could ask any better! Great Music! Great Era! Great Movies! Fun Galore!
😭😭😭yes
Manny - couldn’t agree more. We were lucky to experience such an amazing time.
I was in my early 20's. Sex, Drugs! And Rock N Roll!
Dear 80’s, please let me come back. I promise to never leave again.
I am completely obsessed with the snappy drumming at 1:04. The hat, the gum, the look into the camera...it's just 2 seconds, but it's a whole mood.
the same with me... catchy sequence
it's Jon Farris :-)
I agree! This was one of my favorite videos on early MTV- I’m a huge Michael Hutchence fan, but Jon Farris is the star of this video! Best drummer ever!
Yep I notice those things too how Michael was getting off truck and kicking his feet to the beat of the drums just a perfect 2 second couple of moves that went perfectly to the drums before he started singing...ya I watch every move on each member ..it's what makes watching a video to a great song even more special
I agree with you abrokenplate! As a teen my BFF and I would watch this video like 🤩 We were so 😍 over Jon Fariss. OMG! He’s so cute = teenage girl kinda giggly happiness 😊
Don't change is a special song, This was Michael's best work
We didn't know how lucky we were!!!!
we do now

Isn't that the truth!!
More proof that the 80's did in fact rule
Very" very true
For Sure!!!!!!!!!!
...also the early-mid 90s.

Right?! Back when bands were people not assembly line products.
This is my favorite INXS song so many memories it’s like an Anthem. Every now and then I have to play it on repeat
Oui, sans aucun doute la meilleure chanson de cet album, et l’une des meilleures de tout son répertoire
i got it on repeat right now :)
Yeah! This song is excellent!
Michael Hutchence looks so young and pure here. God rest his soul.
Good comment.
That's what a like is for unless...
R.I.P Michael you where the greatest.........
Looks kind of gay. lol
Because he was young & pure here
It’s 2024 and still loving this band! Who’s with me?
Yep. Getting me through tough times right now. This band is amazing.
@@justinbarnett9476 You got this
65 years old and this song still makes me dance!
I'm with you April. Let the good old days ring out.To me they were the best. How I miss them....
7O IN AUGUST & STILL FEELIN THIS VIBE ❤ 💙
I saw them in Houston TX in the 80's as a opening act for Adam and the Ants. Great times, i feel sorry for the kids today, they will never know
Oh my kids hated me! All 80s!!!! They are 27 n 29 now.
Things have been done
Well emotiond it bs and eyeluvu
I too was there!...It was held at a downtown venue circa 1983...This was the ONLY song by INXS that any of us had heard at that time. We also used to hang out at Numbers in Montrose, Power Tools, Mecca, and the Roxy for the awesome dance music. Wish I could teleport back for those years. Funny, we went to see Adam Ant, but gained another great group to follow, via serendipity.
You were blessed to have been able to see both Adam Ant and INXS. What a great time it was living during the 80's!👍✌
1980-84 INXS is a wonderful gem to discover.
This Song will always be remembered as one of the the best INXS song ever.
one of the best songs ever full stop
Yes! Good times!
Yes timeless song that rocks, you must see Bruce Springsteen cover this in Sydney, out of total respect for where INXS was from and beautiful Michael Hutchence lived than passed 🌟⚡️❤️
Absolutely!!!!!
I'm Indonesian and never heard this before....but I had their album KICK and I love all the songs on that album. It seems that this is from their early career but can't imagine that they could produce such a great song and performance like this. Salute🙏
One of my favorite bands in high school…class of 89!
I'm a 22 year old guy from India and this is my favorite song of all time. 💓💓💓💓💓
MUSIC BRINGS ALL PEOPLE TOGETHER.
Salutations Atul. This is Richard from America wishing you the best.
Good. You have taste in music my brother.
One of the best Aussie songs ever. Glad you like it bro 😎
You've probably heard 5 songs ever
I can’t even express how much I LOVE this song.
Gives you a special feeling..
I totally agree
It makes me happy
I still remember the first time I heard/saw this on MTV. For 4 and half minutes NOTHING else in my world mattered; 35 years later, still makes me feel that way when I hear it. RIP Michael, INXS forever x
KNOW what you mean Lisa !!
Great description. Agree 100%. An absolute classic!
Are you the Lisa P from Adventureland ?
22 years old and he was singing like this. Only a few years out of high school and they were writing and playing like this. Not to be cringe, "born in the wrong generation" type person, but as a 24 year old I wish I'd been around in the 80s for the music and movies and fashion. There's some amazing bands today, but I wish I could've seen these guys in their heyday. Long live INXS. Michael, I hope you're at peace. We miss you.
My son is 27. He was also born in the wrong generation.
INXS was was such a classy band. I had the privilege of seeing them in concert in 1991. R.I.P. Michael.
I was in junior high growing up in the 80’s was the best time I’m so glad that was my time I have the best memories
I was born in 1980, so I was fairly young during that decade, but man I miss it so much. I wish I could been a teen/20-something in the 80's!
Saw them at Spirit Fest KC Missouri, they were awesome, I fell out of a tree, lol. 95 or 6
this song sounds modern to me, its the killers before the killers. Its timeless
Oh my God so true!
It sounds good on phone , good engineering ❤
50 years old and will still be jamming to this at 60. Simply perfect.
hell yaaaa
I turn 60 this year. had ajoint replacement in my hand and the Dr. said that playing the drums will help it heal. I am about halfway there w/ this tempo.
Me too
You mean 90!!
@@allanbard6048😂🥁
I was 16 with an old beater car, but the best stereo I could afford. This song didn't die with him, nor will it die with me. As long as the youth are still looking for great music, this song, and INXS will still live on!
Just discovered and LOVE this song!
Ability, swagger, and youth.
These guys had "it."
Great tune.
One of the greatest Australian bands ever.
Agreed.
