Thank you for this video. I went to the dealer for the same problem. They told me that the part cost was $418.36 USD. plus taxes. I bougth the genuine part from Korea on Ebay for only $29.00 USD. I hope my comment help others to not get scammed for dealer service department with no ethics and no respect for others. Thank you again.
Dealerships have been doing this for years. I’ve always gotten genuine parts from eBay. Always remember to check that they are verified sellers and you will always get quality parts.

Great job, I can't believe we have to do this so soon. My trunk and hood struts are out too. Can't believe it. Great job again!
Thanks for the video. The process is almost identical for the Optima 2016 LX.
Thanks - this helped me get my trunk latch swapped out.
Thanks for video. I paid $20 for part from S Korea
Just changed mine out using this video. Thanks man.
How do we get the button assy out. Is it just a knock out from inside
It has a type of push lock clips that hold it in place. You have to press the side ones in and the two on each side and then it will release.
Taking down all the plastic without breaking it is what I needed to see, lol. Great video otherwise.
yes, the part that was skipped is the one i wanted to see
How did you take it out?

How do you remove the trunk latch plastic cover? I am stuck removing trunk liner because of it.
Turns out it is simple. Just pop it with flat head screw driver. I have to say the hardest part was removing the old handle.
Hi i'm now stuck with the latch cover how can i get it out exactly?@@seandevice238
You didn’t show us how to open the connectors or remove the opener

I got it done if I did again it would be much easier. Thank you.
I just replaced mine, checked all connections but it doesn't work. Any ideas?
Check your fuses and make sure you have power going to plug

@@jonicurn100 the contact switch/ micro switch in the trunk release could be bad.
@@jonicurn100 Did you fix your problem? I have same issue as you. Please post how you fixed yours!
what did you use to get the covers off the trunk rails?
You can use a small punch or anything that could push in the plastic pins to remove the plastic reusable rivets.
Did all that trunk still doesn't work, any ideas
Check your fuses and relays.

This was so unnecessary. All you need to do is stick a screw driver on the side and yeah
Excellent 😊 so maybe no one wants to destroy the paint for panel on their vehicle. To each, do what you can afford.
