Oh my gosh...I paid $25 for the part on amazon, replaced it in under three minutes with nothing but a screw driver. I am so grateful to people like you who share these sorts of tips...saving us all money, and empowering us to do some repairs ourselves in the process!
My button had worn away and just fell off when I opened the boot last night. Just changed my button over in 2 minutes thanks to this video. Thanks very much for the content.
Excellent video I am in the process of purchasing this model privately and the boot button is completely gone involving me to put my finger in the gap to release the boot thanks for the uploads saving us a lot of $$$
Nice! I replaced the switch on 2 cars this morning, each switch cost £11 and took about 10 mins. On one car it was hard to lever out the switch at both sides. I prised one end out, then broke off the springy tab that retains the switch. I then pushed that end back in, levered out the other side, then it was easy to pull out the other side once it's tab was removed. I didn't want to use too much force to avoid bending the metal around the switch. The cars were both 2015, yet the switch on my older 2011 i30 is still in perfect condition, even after 295,000 miles
Apparently an $85 part at the dealer service department plus fitting ($??) Picked one up for $16 for a work associate .. will fit it for free without any difficulty thanks to your presentation .. many thanks
Ive now changed the top and bottom one and still the boot wont open. But opens ftom the inside when you do the trick with the screw driver. With thevtop one it does go in both ways
I used these guys to supply my new i30 part and they were great, $70.00 fix versus Hyundai quote of $680.00, cheers guys. BTW if your hatch won't open either electronically or manually check the video also in here, so easy to do.
My wife has a 2014 Accent where boot release is within the door (above number plate). Any pointers on how we go about replacing this part for this model?
With my new button if you pushed it all the way in it dosnt work but if you pull it out a tiny bit it works. Seems like its squeezing/putting pressure on something that the button no longer pressable/clicks.
Same here. Got the new 'release button' part as per this video and still won't work. So, works with button on my Key but not with New release button 😒 Any feedback, please
Great video. Already replaced mine. Can you please explain how to replace third brake light on tail gate? Even with all screws off, the spoiler is still in place. Thanks!
Hi, having major problems with the same tailgate release switch on an i40 estate / tourer. It’s been replaced once by Hyundai under warranty, however less than twelve months and it’s going again. Apparently it’s water ingress around the switch rubber itself which kills the switch or rusts the spring. Also the tailgate mounted lights leak. The tailgate switch is angled inwards making screwdriver access to the two polo screws very very awkward. Any videos on the i40 tailgate release switch would be wonderful . Hyundai i40 estate SE Business Nav.
I followed the video, ordered the part and replaced it but its still not working? The key is fine and unlocks all the doors but when doors are unlocked, it still wont open. My car battery is also fine along with key battery. I also made sure i clicked it in correctly. Would there be a issue with the cord then?
How can I open the hatch on the same vehicle. Of course it closed can't open. I hear the actuator clicking but doesn't open. Thanks for any suggestions. HJ
I replaced the button release a while ago as it had been worn out. This time the boot wont open unless i use the remote boot button to unlock it. I bought a new lock thinking it was that i've put it on but its still doing the same thing. Any ideas?
@@thepartsfactory4239 whats going on with the delivery. When I ordered it said 3 days which it has already been and now when I check tracking not sure why but saying another 4 or 5 days
Hi, I own a 2016 Hyundai i30 Active X and the boot won’t open, the only way of opening is through the inside with the manual boot release. How do I know if it’s the button or the latch that needs replacing. Thanks
@@thepartsfactory4239 Thank You so much. I received my order today, took under 5mins to replace the Button and the Lock. Now I can finally open my boot again. 🙏😊
@@thepartsfactory4239 Okay. So, I now have my part and went to replace it, however my Hyundai's boot release is from a 2018 i30 sr and it doesn't just clip out like yours. it's embedded as opposed to sitting on top with clip out- clip in surroundings. Was so excited! :(.
Glad it helped. Try and support local Australian business next time. Note if the aliexpress part breaks in the next 2 months you'll be buying another one from us all over again!
Thanks the mazda part cost AUD165 and took me appx 5mins to replace. (Mazda wanted $270 min labour charge and if I wanted to check covered undered new car warranty, another $220) slightly different way used onn my 2019 model, but sane concept.

You sir, are doing charitable work. Order coming through.
Thanks for that.
I watched your video the other day and purchased the part from you. It just arrived and I fitted it right away. So easy, thank you!
Thanks you saved me 30 minutes of the dealerships labour and I
changed it in under 2 minutes
My daughter just bought a 2010 Kia Cerato with the same issue. Do you have the part for that car?

I have the same problem, did you find a solution ?
@ukaszz.9647 just pushed it as much in as I could and it still work. Managed to get it a few mm from been flush.
Hi, have you got any update? I am facing similar issue :/
@abderrahmaneelakhiri I just left it ever so slightly pulled out, like 1mm was enough for it to work.
@ thanks!! I also settled for this option. Still, I am wondering why it stops working when it is pushed all the way in..
Hi. Thank you for this video. However the boot will now only unlock with the boot button on my keys and not with central locking. Any ideas?

It's going to be your actuator. Thanks

There should be a manual release button. A little lever
Would this potentially fix the auto release from the key? Mine isn’t releasing
Does yours work when you press the inside open button? If it does, its not the key.
Hi, you did not show in your video what will happen after changing the part. I have a 2018 model i30 but the key on remote does not work
Flat battery.
Both remotes are not working. I checked but there us no place on the back door to be replaced@@thepartsfactory4239
Would this part suit 2014 hyundai accent hatch?
Yes it should be the same. Best to remove yours and check
