HEY! I missed this shout out until now. Thanks for the shout out. It was so fun to hang out at York and meet in person. I agree one of my favorite parts was just hanging out and talking trains. You got such a great haul there too I cant wait until we get a chance too hook up at another meet soon. Keep up the enthusiasm on trains Bring more MPC goodness. We will see you around the roundhouse.
Wow, that's an amazing hall, I love that Pennsy E8s, and the Empire State Express. That General steam engine is nice too, my Grandpa has an original General from the post war era. Great video.
Thanks for all that Chris! My.favorite era of railroading was that of streamlined steam passenger. You have two of them, the Santa Fe Blue Goose (that I do not have), and the Lionel Empire State Express set (that I am fortunate to have) and MTH Empire State Express (that I also have). Unfortunately all of the development of streamlined steam was suddenly interrupted by the outbreak of World War II and the development of streamlined steam was sacrificed to the War effort of the early to mid nineteen forties. When the War ended advances in rail streamlining was, except for the N & W, all diesel. Again thanks for sharing. The hobby needs young enthusiastic guys (and gals) like you. Keep up the great work you are doing!
When I attended the TCA York train show in the 1970's and'80's, we sought prewar and post war models. What fun we had searching for that one item, not sure that (even though the show was even then huge) the item would actually be there. The 1990's was more of the same. We had plenty of MPC as my father by then had a Hobby shop called Jack's Trains and Hobbies in east Tennessee. Again, thank you so much for recalling my memories and for creating your own memories. Family and friends, that is what this hobby is all about, the trains are the vehicle.
Blue Goose hands down my favorite. The color scheme is just plain cool. I have the Williams 4-8-4 J-class with the matching passenger cars and it just runs like a top. Great buys Chris! Enjoy every single one🥰🚂🚃🚅
You made out okay at York Chris. I love everything you picked up. I had a great time at the show and I know you did too. Thanks for sharing your finds.
We still use my grandfather's The General set every Christmas. Unfortunately, the horses and fences for the flat car got lost long before I was born, so it's nice seeing it as originally intended! My favorite engine is the GWR 14xx tank engine. Favorite American engine would be the streamlined K4 (with the complete skirt - make it look like one big torpedo shooting down the track). Hopefully next year I'll be able to make it out to York too! Sounds like lots of fun!
Really cool that you still have your grandfather’s set! The GWR tank is a great choice as is the K4! I may or may not have a PRR Torpedo video coming soon… Thanks for watching!
Wow all I can say is he shoots he scores that's a great-looking Hall that you got there I'm sure you had a wonderful time York is definitely on my bucket 👍👍
Wow, great video Chris, you really got some nice pieces, two streamline locos,E8's the Katy and a General set, just awesome, thanks for sharing. The Army shark and cars are also really nice
What a fantastic haul Chris. I have the MPC General set that I purchased back in the 70’s. Great set. My favorite engine is my Lionchief plus 2.0 GG-1.
Awesomeness, jelly and happy for you, you are a blessed child lol!!!!!! Your reactions are all child like 👍🏾 and so funny….keep up the good work and ty for sharing those moments!!!!
I’ve never been to the show and I’m only about two hours away. Can you believe it? Five years ago we downsized and I’m delegated to a holiday train layout. It’s up for about four months and it looks nice. We get a lot out of a small space but I’d love to go large! Lol! At any rate, I really enjoy your channel and even show my wife your videos.
Oh wow, you got some nice stuff there. Weaver is still a big name in 2 rail too, always in demand. I have a lot of them in both steam ( brass) and diesel ( plastic). They made a huge range of rolling stock too.. passenger and freight in 2 and 3 rail. One of my friends has been looking for a fuselage like that one you got from Printed In Scale... Excellent video as always! Thank you for your time chatting in the Silver hall with my dad, uncle and I. It was cool meeting you again. And thank you for mentioning the dealers where you got the trains from. By the way, my favorite engines are any berkshire. I'm trying to collect all the postwar versions but I love any berk.
Pretty awesome finds from York to add to your fleet. I personally enjoy you purchased an item from Just Trains, it’s my hobby store of choice. I am within 15 mins from the store. Also, personally I have connection with the engine you purchased.
You should see if you can find a Buster Keaton figure to ride around on that General set. Lol. If you've never seen that movie I highly recommend it. It's hilarious and has some great stunt sequences with the trains. A must for train nerds. One of my favorites! Lol
It was awesome seeing you in person! Keep going to York! It may seem hard to believe, but this year wasn't even as packed as usual (because of Covid obviously). It's a semi-annual event that I always look forward to! My favorite engine? OOOOOF that's tough. It's a tie between the N&W 611, the NKP 765, and the NYC J1 Hudson.
Hey Chris, great haul!! I have to say, the Lionel Sharkmouth really stood out to me. These sharkmouths are respectfully modeled after the AVG’s (American Volunteer Group) aka as the Flying Tigers that fought over in China, to help protect China and the Burma Road out of India from the Japanese at the onset of World War II in December 1941. These pilots had painted their Curtis P-40 Warhawks this paint scheme on the front of their planes, and the Chinese people said these Americans fight like tigers, Flying Tigers!! The AVG’s were disbanded on July 4, 1942, and the pilots were put into the USAAF (Untied States Army Air Force). However, the planes kept their sharkmouth paint scheme, and the pilots were still called the Flying Tigers. Hence the Army Green, and the same exact sharkmouth paint scheme on the front of the new Lionel locomotives. The AVG’s and the Curtis P-40’s are so remembered and respected.by this sharkmouth design!!
@@RBPTrains You too!! Enjoy that set. It’s something I’m interested in purchasing myself because of what that look actually means, and the history behind sharkmouth design. It’s a symbol of strength that protected our freedoms.
The Empire State Express is in my Top 5 favorite streamlined steam locomotives. I hope to one day design one out of LEGO bricks and have it running on my layout. Regardless, this was an amazing video! Can’t wait for more!

Hey man, just wanted to say that I've been watching your channel for a few months now and I genuinely really enjoy your videos! Your layout is super well done, the scenery looks great and the track placement is super well done, I also really like how the wood on the edge of the table is smoothly cut for the track to run along-side it. This was a super great haul, you got some insanely cool stuff and made some really great choices getting them! The Sharknose military paint scheme really fits the name of the engine type haha, I saw a set of those at my local hobby shop a few weeks back and thought they were awesome, it's cool to seem them in action! The Katy engine is super neat as well as I'm so used to seeing you with the shirt for it on and the tank car looks great sporting the paint scheme too. The Empire State Express hudson looks and sounds fantastic, I really love the whistle Lionel gave it and it just has such an iconic design, even though I do HO scale I would absolutely love to get a hold of one at some point. (with sound would be a huge plus) All the other stuff you got is super cool too, love the Blue Goose and the E8's, that plane car is crazy big but super unique and cool, and the older stuff has a really nice charm. Overall this was a really fun video to watch and I figured I'd leave a comment as I haven't left one on one of your videos yet and you're honestly starting to become one of my favorite model train UA-camrs; in general I've been really inspired by watching videos from the community, I'm thinking of starting my own train-related channel around Christmas as I have a smaller layout and collection that I'm trying to expand so thanks for being a part of that inspiration to do so! Keep up the fantastic work man and thanks for sharing! :)
Thank you so much! You should definitely share your layout here on UA-cam! Would be great to see it. Thanks again for all of your support! This channel has been a fun hobby along with the trains :)

I don’t even want to try to guess what you just spent there 🤣 But, glad to know you enjoyed! York is only a half hour away from my hometown and I’ve never been to the show 🤣
since you asked, i think my favorite locomotive is probably the Reading T-1. just has a lot of that local sentimental value to me because i'm only 20 minutes away from Reading. but i'm also a huge fan of the Reading Crusader and the N&W J Class
I love the 19 Century locomotives... Nice video, i saw some videos from your channel and it's great. New sub, and greetings from Argentina! Oh, and my favorite locomotives are the CPRR "Jupiter" #60 loco, and the CPRR Mastodon #229 loco.
Favorite steam locomotive - Souther Pacific GS4 by far. When I was about 10, my dad got me an N Scale American Freedom Train GS4 and its just my absolute favorite. My current O gauge layout would struggle to fit one so I'm quite disappointed. I have O42 curves on a small 9x10 loop, with a small siding that has O36 curves, on the interior of the loop. Its all I could fit unfortunately...
My favorite is the pennsy steam turbine. The o scale 1 i have came from dads collection. Im 44 and have never seen it run on the rails. It was given to him a family friend in 1968 along with other o scale stuff. Never seen any on the rails. Best guess, its somewhere between 50 and 60 yrs old. It was tested long ago to make sure it runs.power to the motor not rails. Yup the driver spun with no issue. So maybe ill put her to run the rails again. Dont know. Im a g scale guy,but im learning towards o scale....well see.

Also thank you for not being one of the snobby collectors! Just enjoy and appreciate these awesome models!
You should check it out next time! Great times and so much to see
since you asked, i think my favorite locomotive is probably the Reading T-1. just has a lot of that local sentimental value to me because i'm only 20 minutes away from Reading. but i'm also a huge fan of the Reading Crusader and the N&W J Class
Great choices! Thanks for sharing!
After watching some more, you just answered my question
That's less more trains more trains the better and cool railfanning
Favorite: PRR T-1
You do a great job editing and pacing....very enjoyable. Thanks
Thanks Dave and great choice with the T-1!
Love the Empire State express 😍
I love the 19 Century locomotives... Nice video, i saw some videos from your channel and it's great.
New sub, and greetings from Argentina!
Oh, and my favorite locomotives are the CPRR "Jupiter" #60 loco, and the CPRR Mastodon #229 loco.
Welcome aboard and thanks for watching! I agree about the 19th Century locomotives!
Really love the channel keep up the great work
Thank you! It has been a lot of fun making the videos
Chris: I always enjoy your videos
You made out like a bandit at York!
Now that’s a haul😮
What a large purchase!!!! I wish I was at York!
It was a great event. Lots of great stuff there and great people! Thanks for watching!
@@RBPTrains no problem! Next time I go I hope to see you their!
My favorite steam would have to be the Shay, Climax, or Hiesler. The cab forward SP would be a close second.
So much o gauge awesomeness!
I love the Empire State Streamlined Express is my favorite one
WHAT A CHARACTER!!!
