      Aloha Sean and Nhi! We love seeing how each island has it's own personality and the 🌄lush green landscapes🌄 that Kauai has is just breathtaking. For sure SPAM is a deal breaker if people don't like it!! 😂😂 Have a great week ahead!!

    FYI...the view from Hanalei Bay, looking E, is the background setting for 1958 movie "South Pacific"(One of my Personal Fave movie/musicals!)

      We just looked that up...WOW!! It was beautiful back then and still just as beautiful now. Glad we were able to see it in person and appreciate it even more!!

      Aloha Rebecca!! 🌺🤙🏼Yes we definitely agree Kauai is beautiful with all its lush greens🌄 throughout the entire island. We thought of the "passing showers" 🌦as our moments of blessings which afterwards yielded rainbows🌈!! As always mahalo for your support and have a great week ahead!!😊💟

    Mmmmmmmmmm…that crunchy deep fried musubi sounded ono-lishus!!! I don’t know the last time I had tatter tots, but oh boy, I want some now 😋
    And the ube shaved ice….uuuugh….that looked soooo yummmmyyyyy!!!!
    Nice cruz around Kaua’i. Thanks for the ride 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻💓👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

      Aloha urs!! The deep fried musubi is definitely something you would enjoy as a crunch lover😋. Their crunch tots would also be something you ❤️ too😋!! Crunch madness for sure. The 💜 shave ice💜 was sooooooooo delicious😋. There's nothing like it at any other shave ice place we've tried. Mahalo for coming along with us and a very 🎉Happy New Year🎉 to you too!! 🤙🏼

    Aloha Michelle & Jose! Tots! (Napoleon Dynamite). The ube shave ice looks soooo good! I've seen lots of videos on the musubi truck and it looks really good too! I really want to try it one day. Kauai is one of my favorite islands, but haven't been in a long time due to the hotel rates and AirBNBs being way too expensive for my taste. Thanks for videoing the stunning scenery!

      Aloha Misty!! Ha ha ha we love Napolean Dynamite!! We're glad we didn't have to stuff the tots in our pockets🤣!! Wailua Shave Ice is definitely a spot to check out for a nice cool and refreshing treat. The Musubi Truck really knows how to take the musubi and put their own twist on it. We haven't looked at the lodging rates for Kaua'i in the last few years but can see why it's increased as Kaua'i has become more and more popular with visitors. We do want to try spending a little more time than a day on a future visit since it has some family history for Michelle. Mahalo for coming along with us on our adventures!!

      Hi Rod!! If you can fit in a day trip on your Hawai'i trip this fall, definitely do it!! The shave ice from Wailua Shave Ice will make your bellies happy for sure. Hopefully one of our Kaua'i Day trip videos can help you and Gemma plan for it!!

    Opaeka'a=Oh-pie-kah-ah=rolling/falling shrimp coz of opae(freshwater shrimp)could be seen rolling/falling down waterfall, back when opae were Abundant aka Back in da Day!-lol

      @michellejosefoodandtravel  10 місяців тому

      Aloha Harry!! Mahalo for helping us out with the pronunciation on Opaeka'a. That was a little difficult with the "pae" portion. We would have loved to have seen the shrimp rolling/falling down back in the day.

    FYI....Waialua/Wailua=different locations/manini(small/subtle) pronunciation...Same definition!

    • @michellejosefoodandtravel
      @michellejosefoodandtravel  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes Waialua in O'ahu and Wailua in Kaua'i. Waialua is beautiful too with the views of the Waianae Mountain range, though we still love the views of Ko'olau more!! Waialua is home to "The Smoking Boar & The Coconut" which we love for savory and sweet eats (thanks to Misty from Food Fiend for introducing us to it).

      @@michellejosefoodandtravelWas just re-visiting your Kauai video & forgot to mention, in the original TV show "Fantasy Island"...the opening overhead shot of the waterfall is Wailua Falls=Two waters...Wai=fresh water/river...Kai=Ocean/Sea water...Lua=two
