What a beautiful ride! After 2 weeks of moderate temps and sunny days it's cold, overcast and snowy again here in Pennsylvania. These videos sure help an outdoor country boy deal with being stuck inside.
My wife and I just bought a cheap exercise bike and I love sitting in front of the tv and watching your video, it's like actually biking this trail ! it is so beautiful what a great job filming. I live in Washington state and have never been to Hawaii, I just love it and it makes my time on the bike go by so fast. God bless you my friend keep up the good work ! the scenery is fantastic !!
I just got a second hand fold up Exerpeutic 1200 bike and rode it watching this Kauai Video so much fun and beautiful great workout I am rehab from a knee injury these new magnetic bicycles are awesome and allow you get a great workout in any weather. LOVE my HD BIKE RIDES.
The chickens are my favorite part of this video. Makes riding my indoor bike much more entertaining :)

Wow! Thanks for this video. I grew up in Kapaa, but it's been 40 years since I moved away and that bike path definitely did not exist when I was growing up there (many of the buildings did not exist too). It was quite a surprise to see this journey start next to the Bullshed Restaurant. I grew up around 200 yards away from that spot and used to sit on that beach a lot. I also did a lot of boogie boarding at Kealia Beach. Lots of memories watching this video! Again, Mahalo nui loa!!! 😃

stunning! enjoyed the ride so much during our March snow in Ohio! My understanding is that the Hawaiian kings ruled from the mountain top down to the shore so everyone had equal access to the riches of the biomes. Does that explain the lack of development on the shoreline? Compare that to the California shoreline developed by colonial conquerors... looking forward to another ride with you!!

Most of the bike path was the original railroad right of way between Kapaa and Kealia or Anahola.
The visual is great but I would have much preferred the natural audio to the music.
How long was your ride?
Aloha JJ 🙂 I just rode the road again today, at a little less than break-neck speed. From the beginning (at the sign) to the end (at the boulders) AND BACK (to the sign) took just over 31 minutes. My record is 29 minutes and change, while riding a single gear bike with barely one brake. haha The headwind going out is really the determining factor on the intensity of the ride; some days it can be quite brutal. Walkers, bikers, kids, pet dogs, feral cats, and fowl crossings are all a factor too. Why did the chicken cross the path? You've got me!! I've never hit one but I've come pretty close to having KFC (kauai fried chicken) as my post workout sustenance. ;-) HAVE FUN... and ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET!!

I would have liked this with the natural sounds instead of he music.
Very scenic but when you look away or raise/lower your head, it's not nice as one feels dizzy while watching this and doing indoor cycling. Maybe better to fix the camera onto the front of the bike :-)
I appreciate the feedback. I tried to keep my head as still as possible... but the views are too captivating not to look. ;-)
captions are annoying and music. Much better on mute. My friend fractured his cervical spine and died "boogie boarding at Kealia beach. It's not a place for beginner's to " boogieboard".

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Kealia is one of my favorite beaches but it can definitely get rough. I once rescued two people there within the span of an hour. Kauai's currents and shore breaks are no joke. Be careful out there!
