I new to the channel here. And I was hoping if someone guide me or tell me what should I do if I findout that doordash scames drivers and don't pay full customers tip to dashers. I have screenshots and evidence that theoretically proves that doordash doesn't pay dasher 100%tips.

as an ex-walmart online grocery and pickup worker, the sign has the phone number on it for a reason. most drivers at my store call it regardless of putting the spot # into their phone, just to be safe. it's pretty much necessary because of how glitchy the communication between the spark app and the walmart system are. would highly recommend calling every time

every state needs what California has, Prop CA 22. The state government steps in and makes sure you make a minimum amount. They have made spark and other driver platforms add money to almost every trip. They start the clock when you receive the order. You get paid for the drive to the the pick up location. You also get paid for wait times. Contact your local state representatives and get something going in your state.

I work for Walmart in their ODP department. We have a good relationship with our regular drivers. They claim to be making $25-30hr mostly varying on their vehicles mpg and maintenance. Spark glitches a ton on the associate end. When we have to request another driver after a no show it ends up requesting drivers over and over for the same order even after it's been dispensed. I know it's frustrating but please don't take it out on the dispensers. We're really trying to do our best and not screw you guys out of money.

    • @poststalone1496

Also, it's up to the drivers to call their help desk through spark to remove the order from the system. There's literally no option or tool for us associates to do it which makes no sense because we would to avoid pissing drivers off and getting yelled at.

    • @havik3420

You guys need to work on your code so there's no way for people to tip bate. They should be forced to cough up what is offered. If they want to add more that should be an option but there shouldn't be an option to remove tip unless they can prove they didn't receive there order. As someone who's been baited a few times. There is nothing I find more disrespectful.

This has happened to me many times. I sit in the parking lot and wait and then the associates tell me that is a defective order-basically the order does not exist. I think Walmart and or spark needs to fix this problem ASAP thank you. PS- also I'm usually the one that has to call Spark customer support and sometimes it takes a long time for them to respond-up to 30 minutes!

Never experienced a glitch in my market. Wait times are a bit intolerable. But that is factoring that they hold you prisoner and won’t let you check in early. And then have another 15-20 minutes to wait.

  • @ronhawks1277

Wait time definitely depends on what store. Shop and deliver pays pretty good if you’re familiar with the store and they’re stocked properly and accurately. I’ve done 250 deliveries. And I have made over 1100 this week in 5 days. Yes, 234 was tips. But still. If I subtract for gas I’ve made really good money this week. I’m in the Boise market.
The only thing I’ve ever had issues with is returns.

Similar issue for me. I was sent to a store 7 miles away. Arrived and checked in. Waited 30 mins for 1 item. It was going back toward where I lived so I waited. And waited. And waited. Called the number. No answer. The employees never came back out. Finally about 55 mins, they did. I grabbed one, showed them the order. He said, oh yeah this one has been coming in all day. Its not here. They didn't even know I had checked in. Wasted 1 hour. Support gave me $2.50 for my trouble. No thanks Spark.

I've seen this. First, never take an ASAP. Even if it goes through, it could lower your metrics for being late. Once, the app followed through but it wasn't in the system. Nightmare delivery. It took over a month and hours of emails to get paid, not worth it. Other times, I wait and a store worker comes out and tells me to cancel it. After waiting forever, I get $1.66 for my time. I quit the side hustles. But, when I was doing Spark, I found a good store. 2 months later it was messed up like all the other stores. I asked a worker about it and she said it was because several good employees quit.

I've had associates not have my order in their system, I've had orders that were already dispensed and delivered earlier that day or from the day before. The worst is when the offer is sent out and it was already delivered and you get nothing for your time. They do promos to see how many suckers (I mean drivers) will desperately take the $6-$9 orders. They're trying to slowly weed out drivers to give up and the newer drivers will take the crap orders because they don't know the difference. Spark is a looong way from professional or being a competent platform.

I always hated the idea of the in store shopping and delivery, but I just recently realized that it's technically the antidote for long wait times with curbside pickup deliveries. It pays much more already without tips, they usually don't send You too far and You'll only have one drop off location. Since the drivers generally avoid these offers (like I used to as well), it makes Sparking pretty steady for me. Even if it's just one order per hour, on average I make 25$ with super efficient dollar/mile ratio. And yeah, every store is different so it can take some time and experiencing to find out which one is the most ideal/optimal. Good luck for everyone Y'all. 👍😊

Spark is my main daytime gig. There is one particular store in my zone (NW Las Vegas) that really has their ducks in a row, and it’s a busy store! I wait an average of 3-5min for my order to come out. If my drop-off is near any other Walmart, I turn Spark off before I complete delivery because neighboring stores are just hot water trash. Every order takes an hour for Spark. In my area, most orders are $10-$15 dollars for 3-4 dropoffs an hour and you can roughly only get 1 order per hour due to waiting at the store for so long. Which is far below minimum wage in my state. It is not worth doing at all due to the wait time. Usually most pickups you cannot pickup right away and you have to wait 10-20 mins at the store every time. Spark even pays way less than Doordash. I wouldnt do $10-$15 an hour ever. Even the Incentives are horrible.

As others have said, it's very much store dependent. Hasn't really mattered for me though...I have been doing like 80% shop and delivers or more. Even the efficient stores in my area are just endlessly dogpiled with orders so most days (weekends especially) I can spend my entire shift shopping if I want to, even being somewhat picky about what shopping orders I take.
Of course, when the store starts getting crowded during busy hours and it's a sea of shopping carts + parents with their 17 thousand kids running around screaming, it kind of gets to be a drag. Still better than waiting 20, 30, 40 minutes for a pickup order though, especially since shops are always single orders so you don't have to deal with a second dropoff.

When doing Walmart Spark, I always expect the wait time to be 15 to 30 minutes, especially if I accept multiple orders (particularly 10+ orders for one assignment). My main issue with Spark is the glitches. Last week, there was a customer with the same order, but appeared three separate times on trip page. The money for All three offers were different and they were pretty good offers ($20+), but I passed at the end in fear that either this order from the customer doesn't exist or another driver has already picked up the order. So Spark really does have glitch issues they need to resolve.

The wait times at the two stores in my area aren't usually too bad, but I've seen glitches where it says the order is ready then switches to not ready. I've also seen an issue similar to yours where it shows me there in a spot for delivery but in the associates system I'm not there. I live in a somewhat rural area and one of the most annoying things is getting to a house where there's no signal. You can't complete the delivery until you're back at an area where there's signal, but the app knows you're at the wrong location so it won't let you complete the delivery, forcing you to pull over and call support to have them remove the order so that you can see the address of the next delivery. I've told them repeatedly that the simple fix is to allow local storage until the driver gets back into range. I've also accepted orders that disappear. This week I tried an experiment with Spark and worked 60 hours. BTW, I also live in Pennsylvania (near Gettysburg). After fuel expenses I averaged $12.38 per hour. If I subtract standard depreciation at 12 cents per mile I'm at $10.22. Today the app wont let millions of drivers in because of a faulty update. I'm about done with Spark. So frustrating.

For one, all trips after 2 pm are all batch orders with 8 plus drop-offs for 20 plus miles, when batch orders are only considered to be one trip. Also the cut off time for most of these Walmarts for spark are 7:30pm-8pm at the latest. It just doesn’t add up.

I do very well with Spark here in Athens, Ga. We have 3 in my area and 1 Sam’s. I almost never do Sams, they are bs… The others are good most of the time, I’m lucky enough to live 3 miles away from my nearest one. I have had what had happened here. Always cancel due to wait time so you at least get maybe $3. It helps if the associates are familiar with you I have found.

Haven't gotten into Spark, but have picked up through Uber at Walmart, and they come out fairly quickly. My problem is the orders are often low pay, and they don't show how many items there will be. It says 1 item but that is just the 1 barcode that you scan to complete an entire grocery order that fills the vehicle, to drive multiple miles and haul the items up a stair case to an apartment for $6. Clarity would be welcomed on Walmart orders, they are purposefully vague and it makes me not want to bother.

As many have said. It depends on the store. I will add this: it also depends on the area you work.
If you work in a big city, with multiple stores, you can avoid which stores to work.
But ...... If you work in small town with one store, it can be a hassle especially if said store is the only supercenter and serves not just the town its located in, but surrounding areas.
The other thing to pay attention to is the calendar. If its a payday weekend, or the first weekend of the month, its gonna be a drag and you are gonna have to wait.
Another issue is the fact that Online orders get first priority over delivery orders.
So if said store is stacked with online orders, you are going to be waiting a bit for assistance, add in the store will bring in associates from other departments to help with filling orders. Means it can be frustrating waiting for an associate.

I'm grinding west pitt and beaver falls area the app is glitchy lately but I'm still making consistent money. After the 1st because of orders from food stamps orders get really backed up. That's usually what's causing long wait times in my area. If you end up waiting 15 mins ask associate if your checked in sometimes it doesn't register when you check in it's hit and miss. Don't let the psychology of the ratings get your money. Be patient. It helps to get to know the associates don't be a jerk to them they are under paid..Learn your market, if you can't handle stress this gig isn't for you sometimes it's more mental than physical yet it can be more physical than mental, I'm getting my bag regardless 💰

I do spark in a smaller town. It's not so bad, except after a year of doing it, it is saturated with to many drivers now. I'm lucky to do 2-3 orders for Spark a day. My longest wait time for an order was around 25 minutes due to the picker goin on a lunch break without bringing it back to ODP. She was promptly fired. The actual average time for my Walmart is around 7 minutes. My biggest fuss would be the system problems and the app itself. Just in the past week alone Walmart had problems, and then the app. So 2 days of not being able to do Spark. It would be really great if there were more Shop & Delivery orders. S&D orders pay the best, and are generally much faster then waiting for the pickup time to allow you to pick up a "Ready" order.

I think that it does depend on your specific Walmart when it comes to the amount of time you have to wait in the delivery order to be brought out. Because I’ve worked for spark in 2 different states (Georgia and Alabama) and both of them were on the ball with getting orders out to the drivers. I’ve nevet had to wait over 20 minutes. However, Walmarts App has had some issues with sending what I call “ghost orders” yo peoples phones. And a lot of times it will do that repeatedly with the same customers order. But I’ve been driving for Walmart for two years and it’s only happened to me twice. And I consistently make five to $600 a week driving for Walmart.

I agree with you on the wait time with Spark/Walmart. And then a notification will pop up saying this trip is now eligible for additional earnings and it will be reflected in the earnings tab within 48 hours. Then you call them and they say you weren't waiting for 30 minutes so you're not eligible. Ok.... so WHY does that message pop up then if I'm supposedly not eligible for extra pay????? Anyhow, I get your frustrating about Spark and lately for me it hasn't been bad and I've made some money on it. Hate that people don't bother to tip, it's a service, people! And I also hate the wait at Walmart. I don't think we should have to wait a half hour before getting extra earnings. I plan to call on this one I did tonight. I did take a screenshot. Oh, btw, I write down every job, every address, every name/order number, screenshot the order before accepting, everything, just to see if anything changes after delivery. So far so good and no tip baiters. You have to work different gigs, you are so correct! BTW, what is Point Pickup? Pickup/delivery for what store? Thanks for all your youtube content. Really helps me out for sure!

There's only one Walmart in the Western PA zone I work and 4 Walmarts/ 2 Sam's Clubs in Youngstown. I still prefer Instacart. I love the exercise and decent customers for the most part.

Liability. Same reason we are NOT supposed to help load. (I always help, but the rules say not to) liability, that if the driver falls inside the store grabbing the order...law suit. Pull your back picking up an item while AT the store...law suit. Amazon just doesn't care if they get sued. They literally tells their own drivers to deliver in a tornado or get fired. People died.
