I'm just starting to look into this, what is the hourly wage? Thanks
There are three additional benefits of doing shop and deliver. 1- You are putting less miles and using less gas vs money earned. 2- You are getting exercise, (especially if you hustle) walking around the store. You get zero exercise driving for Uber, etc. 3- As an old guy who drinks coffee, I get to hit the mens room as I shop. 👍
Point 3 is my point number 1.
As a person who can't lift very much, can you choose your offers on Spark between for example heavy cases of water vs a few lighter things? Are you able to see the items? I do DD occaisionally, but there's nothing seriously heavy doing that.
@@aidk23 Yes, the offers will say Heavy, Large, or other tags that can clue you in to what's involved. But you can also look at what's in the order before you accept. Keep in mind if it's a First Come First Served then you're not the only one looking at the orders and someone else can snatch the order before you can accept.
@dude463waze6 Thank you for the very helpful information, and for taking the time to answer!
Good point!
I do spark part-time .. Curbside, have problems wating. Especially at night. Now I like the shopping orders. Better payouts 😀
Thanks for watching/sharing!
What do you mean
I was a Spark driver for a while and made a lot more money in less time and driving fewer miles. Then, in one beautiful day, the app asked me to a minor employee check 3 items. She didn’t seem very sure of what she was doing. Because of some mistake she made, a $1.50 bread was charged as being over the customer’s order. even though everything in the cart had been scanned and confirmed by the app. Result: deactivated for fraud. I tried to appeal and the only answer was: “we will uphold our decision on this case this time”
I take 4 collapsible bags in with me along with Walmart plastic bags and bag as I shop then I just have to scan QR code and im out the door then pickup my collapsible bags that are already ready to be carried to their door lod them in the back and i am on the road. So much easier and makes me faster in the store by bagging as I go.
They have the audacity to make a big deal out of your on time arrival times and even threaten to deactivate your driver account, but I'll sit and wait for the associate to bring out the order 20-30 minutes past my pickup time? Doesn't make any sense. They say your arrival times are extremely important, and being constantly late disrupts the flow of the business and causes the customer to wait longer for their delivery, but it's ok for them to take their time? What's the difference? Sounds like a double standard to me! Another thing that bothers me is waiting 24 hours for them to pay out your tips. No other delivery platforms I work for does this and they will expect you to do a batch delivery with 16 stops for $22, but if you refuse it, it goes against your acceptance rate.
Customers pay more for expedited orders which is the asap S&D orders. Curbside is generally a bigger delivery window and cheaper for customer
I like spark. I've done spark for about 2 months now in my market. (apprx. 15,000 pop.) I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a pickup. I made $140+ just this morning in about 4 - 4 1/2 hours. In my market it is way better than door dash or uber.
Same here
Can you please tell me which Walmart you work at?
middle of Iowa by Des Moines@@MM45218
It takes 12 hours to make ~$100 here. Let me know your Walmart, I'm moving! Lol
Middle of Iowa. And I don't tell anyone around here about Spark. I want to be the only driver. LOL@@jayhawker2363
Thank you for your Insight because I am definitely thinking about doing this!!
Walmart spark is definitely worth it. I busted $1700 dollars last week!!! I worked ALOT butttt I mean I’m supporting 4 kids and a wife delivering groceries and shopping on my own time. 🤷♂️
You don’t actually work a lot unless you’re doing orders back to back I did $1800
@@HoweyJR_ I haven’t sit down and calculated but I’d guess that about 75% of my orders are s&d’s. Every day when I get home I feel like I worked the whole 12 hours even though I know I probably worked 10. Maybe even 9.
@@joshacox3110 yea I don’t feel like that unless it’s busy but get that $$$
@@joshacox3110 good job man! $1700 is a great week. God bless. Family and success
Much respect Josh, nice job! To the gig workers that are grinding 8, 9, 10 hour days you have my upmost respect
I too really like the Spark shopping features. I have two improvements I would like to see: First, if I'm on an aisle, provide all of the items for that isle. Do not send me back that same isle several times. Second, put the frozen or refrigerated foods last on the list.
I was shopping last week and a refrigerated item was one of the first items on the list. After that, I needed several items that required an associate to unlock a case. While I didn't run out of time for the delivery of the refrigerated items, it was too close for comfort.
Awesome point!
And, for me anyway, I wanna grab that item in health & beauty on the far side of the store first then make my way to the back of the grocery to say household then from back to front to checkout and go. More like they need to give us our specific store layout and take us better from far end to checkout in the list.
Just click on the items you want to pull first! They start you off getting food when you stuff in the other side of store! But you just back out of the way they have it listed and pull it in the order you know it should pull
Great video as always thank you!!!! 💪💯💪
This dudes hair is on point lol
Overview map and highlights sounds awesome
Thank you for breaking this down...I read and read but somehow missed the time frames on these incentives.
a little store map in the app when your shopping takes you to another section would be great. those super centers are massive
sometimes they have temporary locations for sale items on an end cap or something with a weird section number and holidays they "invent" new sections for seasonal items and I have no idea where that stuff is located
I'll take shop and deliver all day over curbside.
One thing with Walmart orders for me is that the stores have started spreading their orders around… Uber eats and Roadie have supplemented Walmart Spark to ensure they are meeting there service level agreements. Uber eats orders seem to be very low pay at times. It’s shocking. But it’s really not. Get that money! 🎉
I just got activated yesterday two months waiting , I’m gonna try it this week.
Problem is the people using the BOTS. They get all the big pay offers. Everyone else gets the garbage.
Do you see that on Flex as well by the way? I know Flex has been trying to deal with that, haven't heard about Spark shifts.
@@YourDriverMike I don’t know about Flex. But it’s awful now with Spark. And Walmart does nothing. I watch the same group of people doing job after job while I get very few high mileage offers.
It’s called proximity not bots. Work smarter
@@danielnicholson25 I’m literally watching them take order after order with zero down time. It’s not proximity.
Bots on Spark can only grab the First Come First Serve offers, which are usually worse than whatever round robin you're going to get anyways tbh
I have multiple Walmarts and Walmart Neighborhood Stores in my market (Clearwater FL). I have noticed that since black Friday they did make a major effort to staff up and get orders out faster. I have rarely waited more than five minutes since. They have also staggered pick-up times here (:45, :50, :55) which also helps with any delays. I use it as a starter trip to my day when I work. Wherever the trip ends I can start-up Uber and Lyft to finish the day. Also cherry-picking the hell out of the orders is a big thing too. Tip baiting can happen but I have only seen it once in 321 total trips, and on that one the lady gave me cash, and also sent her kid outside to help unload.
You're Good, Boy. Just lay it all out there. I started Walmart Spark on Dec 3. And it's working out pretty good, better than Doordash.
I love doing shop and deliver because I’ve gotten really fast at tracking things down, it doesn’t usually slow me down anymore.
It really is! I have 4 walmarts around 10 to 15 minutes away to all 4
I multi app and spark has 2 downsides; the curbside waiting time and low or no tips
Appreciate You sharing your Gig experiences. Happy New Year from New Castle. Be Safe out there!!
@YourDriverMike Can you make a video on driver etiquette for delivery, if you don't have one already?
For instance, I'm considering starting food delivery but I live in Los Angeles and the parking situation can be rough. Double parking and leaving on my hazards seem like the common play but oh man are parking tickets expensive. I'd avoid downtown LA like the plague, but a lot of the other neighborhoods aren't much better -- a park a few blocks away situation for a lot of them. Do you park in handicap spots temporarily? Do you park in loading zones? Do I just drive an hour out of town? haha. Would love your input on this, as well as other "don't piss off the police or other pedestrians while keeping your sanity" tips!
I am very new to the Walmart Spark delivery. I’ve only been on the platform for about a month. I find it extremely difficult to get any kind of orders or batches and I do experience wait times up to like 35 minutes. Sometimes I don’t even get an order all day.
I can relate to this 100%
I've started driving for Spark. I multi-app as well. When I get a Spark order I go, pick it up, and usually get a DD or UE delivery for the return to the Walmart area. Sometimes I'll bounce around doing food deliveries before Spark will send me anything worth taking. I can accept a Spark offer while ending a delivery elsewhere because the start time for the Spark delivery gives enough time (i.e. not an ASAP delivery). I've also pulled up to Walmart, sat for a few minutes and my order gets loaded in my car while I see other drivers that were there when I arrived still waiting for their orders. Maybe they prioritize Spark over UE? That could be a coincidence.
For the bonus incentives I don't really pay too much attention to them. If I get a bonus, great. But I'm not going to take non-paying orders in hopes of getting to a certain level to make a bonus. I've also noticed that the last day for a multi-day bonus you'll see higher paying Walmart deliveries with UE and virtually nothing on Spark. I doubt that's a coincidence.
Yep shopping Spark is better than the rest, the only problem is dealing with Walmart customers, they really don't care if they're in your way.
Spark is by far the most consistent app though, people don't gotta eat out BUT they gotta eat and like mentioned above actually shopping inside a Walmart can be a nightmare, they aint got time for that! So yeah clearly one of the best 2024 bets. The consistency with the multi day incentive can't be beat. I all but ignore those random store/hour incentives, if I get 1 cool, but never plan your day around it. There's no app that beats their basepay though, hopefully this doesn't change next year!
I did one order for spark and was deactivated a couple hours later. I was literally on the platform for less than 12 hours. I'd say beware that platform. I still have no idea why. I called support they said they see no issues with my delivery and I shouldn't be deactivated for only 1 order, but I get no where. I tried to appeal and get ignored. I tried appealing and contacting on a daily basis, but never get a response. I requested arbitration, but get no response. The situation boggles my mind. I have no idea how this could happen
I have to agree with the comments in the video about shop and deliver. As far as spark goes it is rhe easiest to use.
You can click out of the way they have it pulled . And just click on the items you want to pull. Cause im not pulling food before i go get something on the other side of the store! Just pull it jow you want to
Here is my short experience. Aisle "Z" seems to be an Isle they decide to put anywhere they feel like it. Try to find a lunchable item with vegetables. In this case at my store, aisle "Z" is attached to aisle A1. The fruit and vegetable section is the worst labeled section in the store where some bar codes don't match but will scan correctly anyway. Another issue is when something is not in the correct aisle / section / modular. Yesterday was looking for scensy 25 watt light bulb and the module they had listed only had 20 watt bulbs so I marked it as out of stock and now searching for a substitution. I ended up substituting the 20 watt and start walking away and on the end of the aisle there the 25 watt bulbs were located.. a bunch of them. Yeah, I should have asked an associate but sometimes they are no where to be found. Well, they should have an option to remove the substitution and scan the correct original item but once it is selected you're stuck with it. Should be editable.
How long does it take for your rating to go up? Mine currently is 4.5.
In my area there is only one decent Walmart that is reliable. The good news is we have a number of other local businesses using Spark to deliver, from pet supply stores to hardware stores. So where Walmart is lacking, other stores are picking up the slack.
4:48 this is why I love doing the shop and deliver.. you just go right to the item
So if I sign up for spark there will be other stores that I can deliver for on the app?
@DaDon702 yes several stores use Spark to facilitate deliveries! :)
@AuntieErica727 thank you so much for your reply I appreciate it!!!
@@DaDon702 my pleasure, glad to help :)
As someone who works in ogp, pickup orders are faster cause we already have them ready before the customer arrives (gps).
Delivery orders ESPECIALLY batched orders take longer because most times it just pops up on the screen.
What's ogp?
I like the in store GPS map idea 💡
Also batch orders should not be 1 trip 😤
I liked Spark more when the zonewide tiered incentive used to work for any store and you could go to a different zone and take an order if you hapeen to be in the neighborhood and it counted for the incentive. Now, that is gone and you have to be in the zone when the bonus comes out to get it. I have resorted to just doing spark in my own home zone now; and would consider switching if I am in the zone that serves Boston; given the base payouts in that zone are very high.
Well said, yes this zone specific, store specific, time specific incentives are kinda ridiculous - way too niched
All you have to know about incentives is it’s a bonus. Work 1 store if possible that’s in the incentive and go from there. It’s not rocket science, don’t let an incentive determine if you’ll take an order or not. $7 going 8 miles 3 drop offs BUT it counts towards 1 trip of the incentive, not worth it on any day.
Very true, exactly just camp out at one store - typically what I try to do
cant i help me any budy vecause i have question i say spark drive is good work how much per week how many howers how long i mean this one good work
Any advice on how to get accepted as a Spark Driver? I have been trying to get on and I keep getting the message that my zone is full for every zone I try!
Do you know why some people only get orders with shopping?
Spark has all but replaced DoorDash for me, pretty great money.
I can’t wait to try
I still DoorDash and I Instacart too. I do all three most days, but my area is so saturated with all drivers from all three of these platforms that it’s hard to make money with just one of them.
Awesom
spark always says zone currently full not sure how to get on
at marker 3:01 the screen shot.... what do 1 pickup mean and then it says 12 drop off for 24.87 are you dropping off 12 different orders
The Walmart stores where I shop and deliver have no numbers on some aisles, some end caps, some center aisle coolers, some near register displays, and some portable displays
Walmart workers often stock items wherever them can fit them, and the app is often wrong about aisle numbers
This makes the shopping process slow for Spark shoppers not familiar with the stores
My very first order for spark was a batched trip so 2 orders but count as 1. Made 10 bucks and never opened the app again. Not worth the wait times and carry multiple bags of groceries to apartments. 😂
Spark is known to deactivate for many reasons usually its the automated system. They want you to do 3 batch orders wait 1 hr and deliever 1 or every 2 hours. Shop orders you get dinged for subsitutions and tips get reduced soon walmart will do what instacart do reduce base pay. Tip bait is still a huge factor and most constumers are on EBT or bussineses who do not tip.
Thanks for sharing, I'll have to look over my tip frequency/amount for Spark runs. That is another thing I didn't mention, the release times of their requests. They really do stagger offers so you can only take a certain amount of runs per hour which is a pain (aka getting there too early for pick up)
I don’t know why, but I always wait forever for the orders and then I pass multiple Walmarts to get to the customer. I’ve also had a lot of cancellations because of long wait times.
If you don't mind driving tons of miles, perhaps. But dont expect to make a killing driving for spark. Every market is different and you must take in consideration expenses such as fuel and wear and tear on your vehicle. You better use a beater that you plan to replace soon and you better save to buy another beater.
If u run the walmart shopping app there is already an overhead view of the store your in
In Southern california, I made 87$ a day 10hrs every day my market only allows 11hrs of online time. Almost every order is 7$-9$ max curbside pickup, and S&D 11-18$ ... I don't know if it's the incentives but the pay is ridiculous 🙄.... complete 21 trips to get 80$ 😢
It appears it could be the order sizes
Spark is great! But those waiting times, and the times that Sam’s or Walmart associates will ghost you on problematic orders can blow a half hour……and their alcohol verification is subpar to industry standard, and can easily lead to a 1 violation deactivation
How do i skip the shopping orders i don't want to shop
I did two orders with 9 drop offs and 11 drops and it shows no tip! Are u telling me that not one person out of almost twenty left a tip??
I've been having trouble getting into my account. It won't send me an email to get back in
Ic does the map from the store, also it tell you the location
Shipt is awesome
Finally got activated for spark after being on their waitlist for months. I am surrounded by three Walmarts, all within a 10 min drive each. I did 6 trips my first day, 3 the next then 1 the day after that and now it's like a ghost town. Overall Positive experience with Spark.
How much did you make? I just finally got accepted, waiting to get on my first run
$211.54 with tips and incentives for 3 days
I did $340 this past weekend for 3 days
How do you sign up for Spark? I tried multiple times and it does not let me sign up
You need to sign up online, and once approved, then it will allow you to download the app.
I did Walmart on roadie and most were horrible. Sometimes well paid. But most of the time they didn't have the orders
Done WholeFood as a Shoppers it was more organized, Walmart is good but not really organized I don't like the way I'm all over the store back and worth why not just have me get all items in produce before sending me to aisle 14 then back to produce i don't get it a waste of time.
I tried becoming a spark driver when it first came out but can’t get activated. Every time I try to get in, I get a message that the area I drive in doesn’t need drivers. Any ideas?
You're gonna just have to wait it out. I kept getting this message until after about 9 months or so. They finally sent me an email saying I was off the waitlist and could go ahead and start.
I started Spark just a few months ago, but I have not seen offers any close to those on various UA-cam channels, the videos either from a year and before, or more recent ones. I thought my market was not good due to labor supply and demand, until today. This is the first time I have seen offers worse than what the algo is giving out in my market. But still, I have not seen orders stacking up in one screen like that. ASAP orders are gone within seconds.
Bots, they are everywhere.
@@renato3492 It could be bots, or people desperate for orders. Once I had a brain fart and accepted an offer for a store that is more than 5 miles away and the offer was of course priced at the rate from that store to the delivery point. I thought about it for less than 30 seconds and decided to cancel it for real the very first time. I was scared away previously by their ominous warning about canceling before. But this time I went through and it didn’t hurt my cancellation rate. I guess there’s still some fairness in this case, and from other drivers’ point of view, an offer disappears and reappears later again.
if You're doing it in California prop 22 fixes the waiting time and the long distance🎉😂
I do it for a little extra $$ cash flow n ppl have bots its not fair especially when its your little side hustle n they should not be able to accept so many drivers cause it be like 20-25 drivers just waiting sometimes in my area n the other walmarts are trash so the best option i have is the one i go to n i like the shopping more its challenging n the pay its better sometimes then curbside.
Second comment I'm seeing citing the bots. That was a big thing on Flex that's unfortunately crawled into Spark (and I'm sure other platforms) as well
My area offers good incentive bonuses, however they are unachievable if Spark is your side hustle. They can only be attained by working 7+ hours a day.
I took a 6.50 order
One stop
9 trips to the apartment…the kid who answered wanted me to bring it in..I said ok!
Let me ask my supervisor.
I then left…it was a last order for incentive.
Also I once took a 14.00 bell pepper
How to get pass the waitlist
Spark was solid, but it's beyond crowded now.
Never finished my application for spark too many UA-camrs complaining about the loaders don’t want to waste time and not make money
It's better then DD, trust me
Are you talking about bot grabbers? Are they seeing all single/double drops of $2+/mile disappear instantly? Curious as I'm not seeing that in Pittsburgh but I don't use Spark all the time.
That's why shop and pay rules. You can see $15 for 7 items and sometimes low miles. If you start Spark before opening, you can sometimes get bangers easier. I got a $62 shop a few days ago, and it only took me an hour to shop and 15 minutes to deliver.
Orders keep getting stolen by bots instantly gone i can't make money smh
The "complexity " of the bonuses is fine.
Demand dictates the bonuses .
Spark is telling you what to do and where to go.
Atop whining and listen to them saying "come here and let me give you money"
I use uber eats its a good app but it has it busy days a slow days. Usually I make between $20-$60 each day
Hey i rather do these have my own free time schedule then work for someone taking control of your schedule and be miserable the rest of your life and while this i can spend more time with family and do thie things i love doing like gaming streaming and set my own travel vacation time just be free
No aisle number help Ive seen, in fact the shop and deliver experience is horrible, and when I went to do itthe item was not in stock that was the biggest value item in the order and I had to call and make them cancel the whole thing because I couldn't make a substition, then started putting the stuff back and got another shop and deliver. I thought. It was the same order. Wasted an hour trying to figure this out got paid nothing.
And this kinda thing happens all the timr
I got to admit I didn't understand the UI of the app I freaked out and canceled because the anxiety that I felt was outrageous.
I’m on the waitlist 😢
Depends on your area. Good luck getting any orders here in TX. So many migrants and people fighting for orders.
after waiting 10 minutes, in my market we get a popup in the app that says "this trip is eligible for additional earnings" they add $2.50 to the delivery but only once, so you might be there for another hour waiting after they manipulate you with that that little $2.50 carrot
seems they also cut thebase pay when they offer incentives. you're makingthe same amount but they manipulate into working more
nothing with that those scumbags is transparent. it's total BS and you will be lucky to make $10/hr after all is said and done
maybe I will get a sign and go panhandle on the curb till they bring my orders out to the car😂
Do you not make a video and discuss the bad in spark. Like the people using fake accounts or bots. And we can be sitting outside the store for hours or even driving around, and you dont get not 1 offer. While others are going in and out with shopping orders or doing pick ups every hour.
Still on the waitlist 😢
wrong, you have ti be close by the store, in ordex to get ASAP
$1800 last week yes it’s worth it
Nice job! Curbside or S&D mainly?
@@YourDriverMike blend of both but today I did 3 Curbs & 2 S&Ds
Prove it...
@@wayneblackburn3146 prove what?
Nice job! How many hours did you work? Miles please?
Nah I don't like Spark I was multi ap and picked up a Spark order it was a TV on another ap I had a TV pick up also. The Walmart worker reported me and I got deactivated. Some jealous kid I knnew it was him because I went back on the other Ap to pick up and he looked shocked to see me.
Spark was good in my area in till each car had two people each with two phones “ want to know who they are” Venezuelans yes Venezuelans now it’s only them a whole gang of them
Also, you missed GMD orders. Yes, some are bad.
Also. Yes. Some are very good. 50 a hour good
I got almost 60 dollars earlier for 19 dropoffs 48 miles 2/12+ hours I feel like it was ok but I e done better
Yes I feel like that's a fair run, I'm not a fan of that many stops (just more issues with parking/inconvenience). $60 for 2ish hours of work is okay I'd just try to shorten the mileage if possible.
@@YourDriverMike I didn't love the stops either but the good thing was all of them where rural so parking wasn't bad
@yourdrivermike Mike. Shop and delivers for bigger orders have some of the best base pays.
I had a 288 unit order. 3 baskets. Base pay $66.
I completed it and hit the 90 minute limit for perishables and had to return it.
I still received the full $66.
50 item orders can usually be done in 30 minutes and usually have base pay 23 to 30.
Those can usually be done, start to finish, with delivery, in 45 minutes
I don’t agree with you in spark shop and deliver. It’s a nightmare compared to intacart
Shops less miles pay more ... yet i hat vegetables and fruit i like boxes
U park curbside and wait and wait and wait and wait
They're just ok
Thanks for watching!
I just got approved last week. My first order had the tip reduced from $19 to $5
Sorry to hear that, I just read another comment that said tip baiting is a problem (purposely reducing a tip for no real reason). More apps need to have tip baiting protects for their gig workers
I was told by multiple folks in support that the tip we see is the recommended tip and the customer can change within 24 hours. It’s silly. I’ve heard from customers that it’s tough to figure out how to add additional tips and as others have mentioned many orders don’t allow tips. Cash is king. Love customers who leave or hand cash at delivery.
Where is your location? I can’t get in to sparkle they all full not expecting new driver
@ayseninmutfagiii2148 be patient. I was on waiting list for 4 months. You wake up to a email or text that says your in. I suggest you have everything set up so when you get the message you can start.
Unless your zone has bot shoppers
Spark cut costs up to 70% for spark drivers in 2023.
Drivers don’t make much money
Dc has excellent pay you can make 3k a week
Dam 3k? I wanna move there, do u recommend any particular ealmart out there?
Worth it. But it’s like a learning curve. S&d are the bread and butter for the incentives. Make sure you get to know your Walmart employees. Stay in the parking lot of whatever store. Start early as you can…its kinda a rhythm app as much as that might not make sense. Batch orders are good at end of shifts. Remember traffic in your city to be efficient. im making 800-1000 range a week. Some make 1000-2000.
A rhythm app is a fantastic way to describe Spark!
@@YourDriverMike you don’t make real money till you get into a rhythm. Tips start rolling. So you always see money coming in
@@YourDriverMike try this tip and report back to us. i talked to someone "inside" and they said the shop and delivers are prioritized first by anyone on the walmart wifi network(meaning you are physically in the store or in the parking lot), then to nearest driver with most deliveries for the day, then to nearest driver, then they start adding money to the order to get someone to take it. most of those are EXPRESS, so they want it done ASAP. I tried it and virtually everytime, I walk into the actual walmart and switch my phone to connect to walmart wifi network, i get a shop and deliver almost instantly. if there is an order pending YOU WILL GET IT
test it out and let us know
then i turn on UE and take the first order going the same direction. its almost always a $30-$40 run in less than an hour
where are you at that's not bad
Waiting an hour to get loaded as 36 pick up spots full. Only 2.00 extra for 45 minutes waiting for load.
