I have several issues with walmart/spark. Right before Christmas they had a glitch in their app and drivers were bombarded with offers. Our metrics were completely messed up. Spark has yet to fix this. Spark has lowered the offers to half or less than half the pay of what they were a month ago. Spark is changing offers accepted by the driver. In the last 2 days I've went to pick up the batch orders and they were either canceled or assigned to another driver. I could write a book on spark delivery issues smh lol.
To be fair, the bombardment was annoying as all hell. Like, let me choose the store I want to work at. Don’t give me offers from all the stores in the county. But that being said, now almost nothing pops up and DoorDash, I used to stay relatively busy (I multi-app) I will go hours now and get nothing. 🤷♂️
Yes I have experienced the offers changing as well. It’s bs! They change the pay or reassign like you said. Then they give )3.50 after you wait like a freaking hour because no one bothers to tell you anything! It’s horrible! I’m super bummed I waited a long time for this app
@@itsjeslyfe Exactly. How is it legal for them to change an order after it's been accepted with no consequences on their part? We take the loss every way bc of their algorithms. It's ridiculous.
@@wendicampbell3019 definitely! It’s not right, and I hope it gets fixed ASAP. It shouldn’t be legal. It’s definitely not ethical lol. They need to seriously stop doing us drivers dirty
Too true on shopping customers using pick up spots, it happens all the time. I took a picture of 1 truck a lady parked solidly on the line to take up 2 spaces. And the pick up spaces are about 12 feet wide! She came back to her truck with 1 tiny shopping bag. Wtf!
I've only been doing spark for 3 days. I have already developed a great system. I have gotten the pickers to bring me my orders as soon as it's ready. The app won't let me check in too early so i just call the number they have posted on the pickup signs and tell them I'm there for a delivery batch and give them the names on the order. They bring them out and we load them and then as soon as the app allows me to check in, i go ahead and start my route. The problem is the people that wait until 45 after the hour to pickup because that's the busiest time frame for them.
They say 30 min, but it's actually 15. I do it all the time. Sometime I can pick the order right back up at a higher rate, but I wouldn't depend on that. I miss them about half the time.
In NY, walmart doesnt give bags, they bring the order out in a bin and we have to bring out own bags, this adds more time to the run cause we have to bag everything us i buy my own plastic bags
On Spark myself I’ve quickly learned in my market (southeastern Orange County, California) that stores 2206 (Laguna Niguel) and 5600 (Rancho Santa Margarita) are much better than 2218 (Foothill Ranch/Lake Forest) when it comes to getting orders out to you on time, and it helps for me as someone who does this with a Toyota Mirai in particular that 2206 is within a mile of the closest True Zero hydrogen station. Still, if it’s super-busy, the wait times can *really* suck everywhere. Spark is Exhibit A of why I personally like Shop & Deliver orders much more than others because at least in that case you have more control over the pickup process.
A customer report me for parking over her grass. She said I damage her property. Today walmart filled a claim against me. They said they gonna send this to my insurance. I'm so confused about it and scared too because mi insurance doesn't know I'm doing this kind job. What should I do?
I completed one pickup (two stacked deliveries) on Spark. I promptly reported to the store at 7:40 AM (which I was instructed to do by the app); I was in parking slot number one. Despite that fact, I waited 25 minutes for the WalMart staff to load my car. Ultimately, I was paid $18 for my trouble. I probably invested at least 75 minutes overall. No thanks. I haven't taken another Spark offer since. Meanwhile, I consistently average over $25/mile multi-apping with Doordash, Lyft, Uber-X, and Uber Eats. Moreover, I'm able to maintain a minimum payout of $2/mile driven.
Wait, are you saying to buy the hooks or don't buy the hooks? I don't understand the workflow either. There will be like 2 people sitting there when I pull up and park, then another behind me and we'll just sit there for like over 5 mins without anyone coming out with the orders. Then one will come out and load the person that came after me, while we wait another 5 mins before someone else comes out. But there's more than 2 people working in there and it says that my order is ready. I don't understand what is going on if my order is just sitting there and all the employees are in there. Why does it take them 5-15 minutes to come back with another order that's just sitting there ready to be taken out?
20 min. plus wait time. Order shows ready. pull in to empty line, check in at 45 min. mark. Other drivers pull in get loaded and take off some times to see same driver return before it's loaded. ?????
I have gotten to the pick up point and with an offer and picked the arrival spot and then i wait and they only come out with one of the two orders in the batch and then the associate tells me they are still picking the second order and i have made the delivery times because i had to wait around for the second order to be ready and then I go and deliver both orders, but then I miss the next round of getting an order. Frustrating.
The biggest 2 Walmart Spark issues are stores that always make you wait a long time and customers removing tips after delivery. I'd say it happens almost 50% of the time.
@@pennystupid Yeah, I'm not surprised but that's the reason I don't do Spark orders that often. Walmart should put in place protection for the shoppers to stop it, though.
I am done with spark! I put 100 miles on my car today for $33. It took me out in the middle of nowhere to deliver eight orders. It is just not worth it for me. I put so many miles on my car after gas and the taxes I’m not making anything, plus I ran into an issue with a sticker not scanning today and it took me 45 minutes with the helpdesk. They weren’t very much help. It made me run an hour behind. It took me four hours to complete I got back into town and did three DoorDash orders and made 17.50 in about 30 minutes. Im sticking with door dash
I see Walmart store and Walmart pharmacy are separate icons on screen. What are some tips for pharmacy? Pick inside only ? Batched/multi orders available?
During the holiday incentives first day of incentive was normal pay. The last day all orders were $7-$8. If you wanted to get the incentive you had to take the junk orders. I thought it was a one off until I had another incentive. First day was again fine, last day it only sent no tip orders.
Yup u will notice using trip incentives alot low ball offers Co e in on those days its best to start early not to early though 8-11 am usually low tips and high miles. I say 11-9 is good evening are greT since most dont work in the dark or rainy days thats where the money is
Yeah, wait times can be crazy, especially weekend afternoons. I usually choose to Spark in the morning when wait times are less. And I hate waiting 24 hours to see if tip is honored. On the other hand, Spark has been paying me a lot more than any of the food delivery apps, so I’ll stick with them.
Wait time for an express pick up can be up to an hour in Dallas. Then if you shop and deliver you are waiting like crazy at the checkout lines. It’s very frustrating for me.
Just last week I had an hour and 15 minutes wait time. Contact support and they said if I finish the offer they would pay for long wait time. Did I get it. Hahahahaha. Right!!! $2.50
You are right the wait times are killer! Also, the cancellation stuff. You only get the show up of $2.50 if they don’t have it or customers cancel. So all that waiting for nothing. I also had a lady pull fraud she got over hundreds of items and said she didn’t. I proved it and they said they fixed the pay. They said it would show in 24-48 hours and it still has not shown over a week later. I love the pay is more, and if it could fix these issues it would be the best app. I don’t see it happening anytime soon though unfortunately.
Dec 23rd in the evening I had over 1 hour wait. It was so busy there was a line of 10+ cars just waiting to pull into 1 of the 20 marked parking spots. It was crazy, but awesome tips all day. 7:18 I had a situation where there was no one but me and another spark driver. Almost 45 minutes went by and still no order. Honestly Mike, Spark needs improvement especially since it’s a new year and we don’t need a history of all the reasons spark doesn’t workout for us at times.
I have to disagree on the whole metrics thing. My acceptance rate on spark is always between 0 and 5% and I still get steady flow of orders and really good shopping orders. I think it just all depends on your market as far as offers being sent.
Each Walmart is very hit or miss. The Walmart by my house is never crowded and awesome for pickup. However many other Walmarts are just a ridiculous waste of time.
At first this was a great part time but now the wait time to actually get your car loaded with your order is ridiculous. Then $2.50 for waiting is a joke! Customer ratings suck due to no fault of your own. Too many drivers. A lot of systems crashes 🤣🤣🤣 it's a joke at this point. Not to mention apartments with large orders 😈
Yes!! Wtf is that about!?! The only time/situation it’s appropriate is if you have a return (via the app, not a personal order.) I had an undeliverable order and had to drive it back and because it was so late at night I had to just bring it inside the store.

Even customers who don't pickup park in a pickup spot
Yes!! Wtf is that about!?! The only time/situation it’s appropriate is if you have a return (via the app, not a personal order.) I had an undeliverable order and had to drive it back and because it was so late at night I had to just bring it inside the store.
