    IMPORTANT TIP 👉🏼👉🏼Don’t DECLINE anything, just let the time run out if you don’t want to do the order. BIG DIFFERENCE in seeing orders.

      That’s what I’m hearing with the weight of AR, not a big fan of having such an emphasis on acceptance rate but it’s just how they’ve structured their platform

    • @GigMom
      @GigMom 2 роки тому +34

      @@YourDriverMike so you know that the only orders that go towards acceptance rating are the round robins… that’s when they send you a notification saying There’s an order…blah blah.. you have this much time to accept. Those are sent just to you. The orders that say “First come first serve” don’t go against AR. Even letting the time run out will affect AR, BUT for some reason when you actually hit decline, it’s worse. They won’t send you many orders as opposed to letting the time run out, they usually still send orders. Your market doesn’t look like it’s that busy since you only showed too locations close to you. They do Sams club as well. My market has like a dozen Walmarts & like 5 Sams clubs, so I see lots of orders!

    Ive been doing spark for 4 months. The associate is suppose to take the sticker off the bin and onto one of the bags. Sometimes they don't do that and you just need to make sure that they did before you leave. I love spark I have stop doing door dash and grub hub. I earn so much more money. @ Faith Rippee The associate is not required to take the sticker off the bin and place on a bag/item. As a Walmart employee our job is to dispense the order to the customer/driver and in a timely manner. Yes the Spark app ask you to scan the sticker in for each order but the app also has a way for the driver to manually hand type the order info in. So yeah as a Walmart employee I’m not required to put a sticker on your bag we do it to be nice and help.

    Most importantly, you can make WAAAAAY more more doing Shop & Delivery orders. I've had some that paid nearly $40 to shop for seven item or less, drive .8 miles. It took 15mins from start of shopping to drop off. That's where the money is.

  • @tylerbrown5974
    @tylerbrown5974 2 роки тому +56

    I used to work for the Walmart OGP department. The reason there are so many bags with one item in them is due to how the shopping is completed. Basically each department of the store or temperature is seperated for shopping at different times.
    Example: Ambient - Chilled - Frozen - General - Produce - Are all sperated and given to different Walmart associates to be shopped for. These departments can be further spread out among shoppers in order to make the shopping more efficient.
    The customer will choose a pick up time, for example, 2 pm. All items must be shopped for and sorted somewhere around 2 hours before the set time. By the time the customer, or in this case delivery driver, arrives the orders have all been sorted out and all that is left to do is take out the chilled/frozen items and dispense them to the waiting vehicles.

    Tip baiting with Spark has become huge in my market. I’ve adapted (as I believe most drivers in my area have) to only accept orders that are worth it WITHOUT the tip. If you get it after 24 hours, great! If not, the order was still worth my time and effort.

    • @vshah1010

      The rule in any job or contract is to figure out the pay not including tips. Only accept jobs that pay enough before any possible tip. You are correct to only accept orders that are worth it without the tip.

      That's so shady... I work on all gig apps accept for Instacart because I was in it before it was hella secure and I had a delivery to the ghetto for a big a$$ order with lobster and ny strips and sodas and it was bout 500$ and my SUV couldn't pack another bag and I handed to lady at door and back and forth from the car and the app asked me to take a photo and she had the stuff inside and I knocked on door and no answer. I just took a photo of the front door and made a not handed to customer which is common in this industry and I was under the impression that the gps would show me at her pad for 15 minutes and our GPS on both phones in the exact area and went about my day. Keep in mind not one grocery bag more could have been fit in my car. I probably did 4-5 more orders after that in the day and 2 days later I'm logged out and I cannot log back in. She said I never delivered her groceries. What a scumbag. I missed my child support that week because the ghetto scumbag got me kicked off my app that I loved and I was a high volume bartender in San Diego at a very very good place before COVID so I'm a high volume worker and a great assertive employee and I'm fast at everything. The reason I wrote a book in this comment section is because spark requires you to choose a zone and I recommend that you do NOT NOT NOT NOT work in a zone anywhere near a ghetto because someone nice to your face with pictures of Jesus and someone you wouldn't believe would pull this sht will get you deplatformed and no judge no jury and you don't eat and your kids don't eat because they WILL lie and say they didn't get their groceries. You can choose to work in zones in super nice golf course country clubs like where the super duper duper rich live and you don't gotta worry about that

I’d accept an order then on the way to the order the car would overheat so I had to cancel, they deactivated. A year later I try to appeal it and they still won’t let me get account back. Also one thing I didn’t like about instacart shopper was that some heavy batch orders they ask that you pay out your pocket for the order.

    I’ve been using Spark for 6 months. Have never rejected orders and my metrics are great yet, i rarely get sent orders anymore. It’s really frustrating. I’ve noticed you get 1 trip an hour unless it sends you an express order. Bonuses are sometimes hard to get because it counts by the trip not my the order. So 1 trip can contain up to 9-10 orders sometimes. Those batch orders are usually single items or just a couple items. Also bonuses have slowed down now that the holidays are over. Oh AND! You can pick up from one Walmart and it will send you across town out of your zone to deliver which I think totally sucks.

    Alaway a lot of bags. I keep a foldable wagon in my car, I load it up with the larger orders and drop it in one trip. Also, if the app says TO SOON TO START TRIP, put it on airplane mode and then turn it off again, it will let you start the trip without having to wait for 15 minutes.

      Believe it or Not, Walmart actually sells a really good foldable cart that I have been using every single time. You will soon see that having a cart will be your best friend. (And having totes as well)

    Mike, thank you for another quality video. Watching yours and other similar channels makes one realize that there is no longer an excuse for not making money. Even if no one hires you for a regular job, as long as you can walk, you can deliver food. If you can bike, it's even better. And, with a car, the opportunities increase even more. You may not be making "a lot" of money, but would always make enough to put food on your table and have a roof above your head.

I dropped the first order off and then realized the sticker was not on any of them. After an 20 to 30 min wait on Spark customer service. I decided to return to the store. Where it took another 20 min to figure out how to get past the scan screen without a MANUAL CODE or BAR-SCAN CODE. Loaders were completely STUMPED. Eventually I was able to return the other two orders to the store after they timed out......I did catch a 45.00 Shopping order right after that. I had to learn the hard way. I've been a walmart in-store personal shopper, the reason why there are sometimes one item per bag is that one item might be from one department for example makeup. And the rest of the order might be food. It depends how many items are in a certain department, if theres one item for makeup and one item for camping and one for groceries, the order will just have single bags with the items.

    Thanks Mike. Look forward to some future videos on this. I definitely need a back-up app. Uber Eats never worked right on my phone when I first started this 1.5 years ago, so I gave up on it. I have a pension and an E-Commerce business, plus a little stream from You-tube and Amazon affiliates. There is a Walmart about 2 miles away from my house, and a Walmart Market (groceries only) even closer. So this is viable since I can wait at home and do other stuff.

    Hey Mike, Tom from Mt Vernon NY here. I'm glad to see Walmart Spark seems simple enough with the pay scale looking decent, but the one caveat that may deter me from signing up is the fact the nearest Walmart from me is about 35 miles North from me in Mohegan Lake (in the Cortlandt Town Center for anyone familiar with that area). That leaves me on the fence.

    My boyfriend does door dash in PGH when the weather isn't crappy and snowy as a side hustle. I'd say that from his experience, if you're close to a Walmart, this sounds like a better gig. Just because you aren't going to be driving all over the city's windy streets and you're going to be pretty much locked into one store.

    I work for Walmart and that is the correct scan, sometimes depending on the type of order it could be on the bag or product itself. Groceries are generally on the bin. I kinda wish I could do spark, as for bagging there is no set way to bag. I don't work directly for home shopping (Ogp) but anyone in the store may end up having to do a pick walk ( I work backroom). Make sure you ask for one of the stickers it will make your life much easier.

    You were asking about the bags with one item in it, I have experience in the Online Grocery Department at Walmart and the OGP department works in 3 teams, you have your team that does the shopping your team that does the staging "organizing" and your team that does the dispensing "bringing the items out to the delivery drivers and customers doing pickups". Each person on the team that does the shopping is shopping for multiple people at once keeping the orders separated between 9 bins and multiple shoppers might have a bin for the same customer. One of those shoppers may have only had to grab one item for the customer leaving a bag with only one item in it.

  • @LA-dh1bq
    @LA-dh1bq 2 роки тому +4

    You can’t see the specific items until you actually arrive at the store ready to pick up. If you can’t deliver an item because it’s to large or something Sparks support team will help you with taking the order off if you are unable to manually do it on the app for whatever reason there support teams are top notch. In terms of the single bagged items it seems they try to keep certain things separate like say medicines and what not from other items so I get a lot of bags that seem empty but upon closer inspection has one tiny item in it lol. Cases of water or soda etc always adds an extra trip to and from the car for me but typically I can haul a large order in two trips most of the time depending on how many canned goods they have and type of drop off house/apartment. In store pickups bring cart with you scan as they hand items to you don’t worry about order, then typically upon delivering the in store scan pick ups scan the items in the car then drop off take picture saves time. Side note I like how Walmart does the smiley face rating post delivery so you can double check quickly to make sure you delivered to correct address. In terms of typical order offer times Walmart sends out orders pretty periodically throughout the day so mornings I often get curbside orders from 7-9am. Then lunch and post lunch downtime is typically a good time for in store pick ups for me sometimes curbside pick ups too but maybe just twoish average. Then dinner rush is usually pretty slow but post dinner rush can be good from like 7-9pm for curbside orders or leftover in store pickups from earlier in the day. If you have a snowstorm coming into town or holiday run spark, New Year’s Eve we had a snowstorm roll through and I had so many good orders I couldn’t even keep up with them all. Also been thinking about buying a fold up cart in order to make long apartment hallways more manageable something to think about 👍

    I used to work in the digital shopping department, the reason you will get one item in a bag sometimes is because orders are shopped by multiple people at the same time in the different sections of the store. Then it gets taken to the prep room and stacked up with the other totes for the order that others shopped

    Hi Mike, I see this video was put out a year ago. There are some differences where I live to Walmart. I haven't worked Spark, but I get Walmart orders on Uber Eats in my area. Our pickup spots with numbers are blue, not that it matters- just might be different for other areas. The barcode stickers are typically on the blue bins when they wheel the carts out to your car, with uber eats they take the stickers off and put them on the bags. Some don't do it to "Walmart protocol". I've had a mass load of stickers on one bag lol. Sometimes you gotta learn as you go! Thanks for your videos, they're helpful!

  • @spitfirespotlight

    If the store is not putting the scan labels on the bags they will have a sticker on the bins when they load the car. The one you scanned to start the delivery. You can take that sticker with you and put it on one of the bags so you can scan it at the drop off location. The store employee will give you a sticker if you ask for it.

    By the way, I use several collapsible bins that I found at Costco and I have a great folding cart that I purchased at Sams Club for moving those big orders. The only problem with the cart is there are two wheels that you need to replace with larger ones when you are using the flatbed mode, but I have moved cases of water and soda, along with groceries with ease and the collapsible crates actually stack neatly when they are expanded.

    I always make sure I get two labels for each delivery bc same thing happened to me. Got to house and was a no. contact order and I didn’t have a sticker to scan. I couldn’t bypass anything either. I had to drive all the way back to Walmart and wait to get a label reprinted. I ended going to store twice bc I picked up a door dash order then had to drop it off then go back to store to get the label so I could get paid for the order and clear my screen. 😂 Found out later you can get a Manuel label from chat support to put in in case something happens to your actual label . Its a learning process as you go. Things come up and lucky chat support is usually pretty quick

    Thank for your video! It just came out on Sacramento, CA. The 24-hour tip thing is the norm for Instacart. That’s what I do right now. Sounds like Spark learned from other food delivery apps, except they should let you see the items like Instacart does so that you can see if they will all fit in your vehicle. Walmart is really bad with bagging. All of their online orders (my personal ones that I pick up) come in 4 bags when they only needed 1 or 2. I don’t know why they do that.

    Some zones you are able to see the items when you click on it before acceptance. Your zone just doesn't allow it right now. Also always take a sticker off the blue bin with the customer name. You scan the sticker before you start delivery then once at the customer just scan that same sticker. Then you will be all set. Customers shouldn't have to sign. If it brings it up, the app should say just put a line through it. I believe it says that in the instructions.

    Another way to look at the situation is to base it on the time that you actually worked, not the shift. During your 'down' or wait time, one could make use of the time (run errands that are close by, work on other online side hustles). Also, I don't consider the time it takes me to get to the store. If a person had a 9 to 5 that wasn't home based, they'd have to drive to get to work.

    Mike next time when you have anything to scan just make sure to grab the stickers. usually grocery orders dont have scans and only online order drop offs do. in your case that was just a weird one. Ive had wrong names but correct osn numbers. Sometimes the workers loading cars are just really bad at their jobs. Ive noticed at least in my city spark gives me absurd amounts of time to pickup and complete the orders. It very relaxed in my opinion. I also get orders that sometimes people dont know are coming like medicare stuff. subscription stuff. it can get weird but its fun! less stressful then doordash but i also do doordash.

    so I was a manager at walmart and worked for the company for 13 years. I worked in the department which is called OGP (online grocery pickup) that gets the order ready. THe reason you may have 1 item in a bag is because they arent shopped for all at the same time. Associates shop for muliple orders at the same time and they do it by department and specific things. So you have may have a bag of just one shampoo or something like that and it's because the associatew as shopping that area for ALL the orders for then nexxt few hours .

    I had to pause this video to comment on some of the questions you’ve asked. I don’t haven’t tried this service yet, I’m actually just now heading about it through this video so thanks for this video… I’m guessing that you were given close to 4 minutes so you can go through it like you did to see if you want to make the trip, like are the miles worth it, the amount of items and so on and so forth.. Also, when I would pick up orders from Walmart buy Uber eats or Postmates, they’d have bags with just a single item, I would just throw other bags into it to make less trips from my vehicle to the customer… Then I started using the food bags that I’ve used to deliver from Uber eats and Postmates. They really helped.

    Hey mike 3yr with spark orders are relished to drivers at every 40min of the hour. Unless a batch or express order since they have a longer start time as the employees are fulfilling the order. Best rule of thumb is just keep on accepting due to the algorithm will see you as a hot driver. Giving you priority for any difficult or late orders. Also, tip for all bonuses read it word for word because it could be just a store only one. If so and you don't already have your stores code memorized hit my zone and click each one till you find it

    I'm trying to get back on Spark, but I do some WalMart on Roadie. Our pickup is simplified and not in a good way, we enter the parking space, and wait, there's no feedback on the app as to whether the order is ready or not. Typically at least one bag in the order will have that sticker like you showed, and that's what you scan.
    For help carrying, I recommend getting some grocery boxes (boxes, not bags) from Amazon, these'll also keep things from sliding around in your vehicle.
