You have been warned!!! I'd suggest Enter Sandman 2022 Teatro Metropolitan as a great comparison. Then a few newer songs to get more familiar, then going through some early stuff. These sweethearts don't cuss, almost never drink and are humble. Breath of fresh air in a smothering world.
The warning are three sisters from Monterrey Mexico this video is filmed in their basement aka their practice room Dany- guitarist and lead singer is 14 here, Pau- drummer and singer is 12 here and Ale - bass is 9 they started playing piano when they were really young Dany was like 6 and Pau was 5 Ale I think was the same age and their dad got them the video game rock band and playing that made them want to play music so at 8 Dany asked to play guitar and today she's 24 and an even more amazing guitarist Pau started drums at 6 and won the Drumeo award for best rock drummer last year and Ale chose bass at 7 and they are still making music together

Yes, their version of “Enter Sandman” REQUESTED by Metallica for the 30 year anniversary of the Black album.
The Warning is a band of 3 sisters. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra. They live in Monterrey, Mexico and have been rocking out as a band since 2012 (when they were 12, 10, and 7 years old)! Their parents loved music and they grew up watching and listening to rock concerts. Daniela (Dany) and Paulina (Pau) attended a music initiation class when they were 5 and 3 respectively. Alejandra (Ale’) attended the same class when she was old enough. They loved it. They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. When Dany was 7 their dad bought them the Rock Band video game and they absolutely fell in love with rock music and performing on stage…. even though it was just a game. When Dany was 8 years old her dad asked her if she wanted to learn another instrument, along with piano. She chose the guitar. Pau chose the drums when she was 6, and Ale’ chose the bass at 6 (but was too small to play it until she was 7). Ale’ had been playing bass for about 1 month when they decided to play together and that was when the band was formed. In 2023 they celebrated 10 years as
The Warning”.
It is important to understand that their parents never pushed them to do this. This project was 100% the girl’s decision. Their parents completely supported them but never pushed them.
In 2014 they made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they had progressed in their playing. The video was too big to just email so their dad uploaded it onto UA-cam. It was a cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman and it went viral! To date it has well over 25 million views and was shouted out by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, as well as many other famous bands. The girls were completely caught off guard by the attention this video got and they had to make a decision- they quit school and started homeschooling in order to devote as much time as possible to their music. They were 100% committed to this project and have never slowed down since (practicing hours every day separately and even more hours together).
In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different kinds of songs as they sorted out their musical style.
They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood).
They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for, and won, many Independent Music awards in 2019.
In 2022 their third album (first since signing to Lava Records) called Error. It is simply amazing!
Dany sings lead on about 75% if the songs. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing!
They have all given master classes on their instruments and song writing and performing (even as young as 18 years old).
They have opened for several great bands including Alice Cooper, Def Leopard, Stryper, The Foo Fighters, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, Guns n Roses, and their absolute idols Muse. In 2022 they played 103 concerts in South American and North America. In 2023 they played 75 concerts dates in 13 different countries all over the world.
The band was names “Best Live Band” for 2023.
Paulina (drummer) was named “Up and Coming Drummer” for 2023
Paulina was also named “Best Rock Drummer” for 2023 by Drumeo Magazine.

Bonus- In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists (including The Warning) to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was also asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. That is a very complete list of the highlights for The Warning, whole heartedly agreed with everything.
I will assume most of this is correct except for Metallica asking The Warning to do a song for the Black List album. Alessia Cara is who was asked to do a song for the Black List since she is on the same label as Metallica, Alessia asked if she could invite The Warning to do a collaboration on the song with her. Semantics sure but that's just how it happened. There is no need to trash another artist by saying they "had no idea what to do" with a song, Alessia is just another Canadian that will give all the credit to someone else. I would imagine she would have been roasted like some of the other artists that did poor renditions of songs for that album if she did the song totally in her style. What is really cool and respectful is The Warning using Alessia's tracked backing vocals at there live shows for the song, The Warning family & entourage are class acts.😊✌
This cave recording is the first thing that got public attention. I was like 'ok, cute, 3 girls playing rock music, sure'. Then I saw the Foro Didi concert. This is now 5 years ago. But picture this: they were 14, 17 and 19 years old at the time. And they were putting up a full 90 minute rock show, with just their own songs... presenting their very own concept album Queen Of The Murder Scene.
At that moment realized: these girls aren't just cute. They're epic, and dead certain to become legendary.
Well said, I started to follow them when they were recording Queen of the Murder Scene, I remember some of the Behind the scene stuff they shared they were so excited. The whole album is a masterpiece and should be listened to in order. The show a Lunario may be the next for this, since they premiered the album there, intersperse with a free of the songs from their first album.
As a drummer, you are going to love learning about Pau - Drumeo rock drummer of 2023. And she sings lead on 20-30% of their songs…..

I went down this rabbit hole in October 2023 and I still didn’t come out.
This is their home practice room/studio, which they call the Cave. All 3 play Piano from a very young age. Dany Lead guitar and singer, sings lead on about 80% 14yrs. Pau (pronounced POW) Drums, lead vocals 20% backing vocals and harmonies (while beating the snot out of the drums) 12yrs. Ale (pronounced Al-lay) Bass, sings backing and harmonies. Can sing lead but is not keen. She will sing lead when Dany needs a break so there are some rear videos. (human metronome and pitch perfect) 9yrs. Ages are for this video. Pau is 5ft 3/4in today and was tiny back then (her words) and no one wanted to teach her because of her size. She has always played a full size kit. Ale is playing a 3/4 four string bass back then and had been playing for less than a year back then. She now plays a custom 5 string.
The story goes that Dany stood in front of a mirror for hours practicing her "James Hetfield" face for this performance. To this day, she is the most expressive in terms of her face and eyes. She really sells every song she sings. I think if you want to chronicle their musical journey, you should probably go with the Lunario performance of their Queen of the Murder Scene album. QOTMS is a concept album that tells the story of a young girl who falls in love with a boy who doesn't even know she exists, and that infatuation spirals into obsession, and finally murder. Every song is a chapter in her mental unraveling, and Dany (the guitarist/singer) does a fantastic job of embodying the main character with her body language and facial expressions. The fact that it was written by teenagers (and one preteen) makes it that much more impressive as a work of art.

Singing and playing the guitar is hard but Dani does it in almost every song. Your mind is going to be blown when you hear the drummer sing lead while drumming. Check out live performances of Dust to Dust or Narcicista or a song called 23 and your mind will be blown. (Their dad recorded this is their basement with a bunch of iphones. He did it for the girl's grandparents and posted it on UA-cam. The drummer was 12, the bassist was 9 and the singer was 14 when they taped this 10 years ago.
Personally from here I would start with the TEDx performances at University of Nevada. The warning received the honor of being invited 2 years in a row, in 2016 and 2017. Ideally you would do both of those in order, but if you were to do just one, I would recommend 2017 when they were just a bit older. They performed three songs off of their first album and they do verbal presentations in between songs. This is the performance that hooked many of us onto the warning army train.

I watch a lot of reactor listening to the warning video and appreciate how even before you heard them you were able to identify their location as a studio and that they were all likely to sing based on their mics. That is their home studio, their father is/was a sound engineer and even ran a studio before becoming the manager for his daughters. Their first 3 albums were written in that space and we all call it The Warning cave, a tongue-and-cheek reference to a Man cave.

The studio is located in the family basement and is affectionately called The Cave. This recording was made after a family BBQ, in 2014, in their back yard. They were going to send the video to their grandparents via email, but the file was to big, so their dad put it on UA-cam. It went viral! 30 million views later, you listened to it. It will be difficult to catch up to where they are currently from this starting point. I think you will have to ping pong your way, because they are currently EXPLODING! Hi, I 've got here one they did at their school when they were 15, 13 and 10 and still played quite a number of covers. They are very big fans of Muse so they had to do a cover of a Muse song. Here is Hysteria by Muse ( ua-cam.com/video/fU26wmlF3yg/v-deo.htmlsi=wZ4K7uFVRqVZR-ZL ), which they did play at a little concert at their school. At that concert they already played songs of their own.
Last year they opened 9 times for Muse. 4 concerts in Mexico, 1 in France and another 4 in the UK. In the UK Danny was gifted a Manson gitar in special mustard yellow colour (her own choice) by Matt Bellamy!! This is the only one in the world in that colour.
B.t.w. the last time they played a real cover was in 2019 at the Whisky a GoGo in Hollywood. After years of not playing covers on stage, they played only once on request of the owner of the Whiskey the cover of Metallica's Atlas Rise ( ua-cam.com/video/fhhG5EiFiyA/v-deo.htmlsi=xIiGd5qPHMgZH68D ). It's a pass for me because this can only lead to certain disappointment.' - Then I watched 'EVOLVE', Live at the 2023 MTV VMAs - GO WATCH THAT! I suggest to now watch their unique cover of this song done live at Teatro Metropolitan to see how they've advanced. Then, maybe watch them chronologically, starting with their Tedx performances.

Daniela (Dany now age 24) on guitar and most lead vocals, Paulina (Pau, pronounced Pow 22) on drums and some lead vocals, Alejandra (Ale 19) on bass and backing vocals. Ale has sung lead when Dany needs a break or is sick, but no designated lead vocal songs yet.

We focus on Dani and Pau, both great, but Ale on the bass at 9 years old is a beast all by herself.
Even here at the very beginning, you see traits that they will keep and improve on. Dany, eldest sister (14) channeling James Hetfield, her face very emotive, a true story teller. Pau (12) the drummer, beating the drums like they owe her money. Drumsticks splinter as she gets stronger, as drummer AND singer. The youngest Ale (9) calm and cool like walking in the park. Anchoring the songs with her bass, described as a human metronome. Her bass work will earn her the nickname ‘Thunder Goddess’.
Now you need to see their newest - 'Automatic Sun'. Or try 'Evolve' from the 2023 MTV VMAs.

Aw, man, you have no idea how good these ladies are. As amazing as this is just on the fact that they were so young, they just killed it. But they just kill everything they do! You could go chronologically through their material, or take a look at their other versions of *Enter Sandman.* The music video of their TOTAL REMAKE of ES with Alessia Cara is totally awesome. Their performance of the remake of ES at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/28/2022 is the best. Or, you could just listen to their other music videos and then take in concerts. Or you could watch the Tidal *Rising* documentary about The Warning on the Tidal channel. Or watch the 6-part series, *Mayday in the Making,* for more background on the band. ALL THREE albums of original material they have released so far (*21st Century Blood, Queen of the Murder Scene,* and *Error,* are absolutely excellent. Most of their official live concert recordings on their channel feature very good to excellent audio, and I recommend listening to live performances where possible. Album #4, *Keep Me Fed,* is out June 28. The Teatro Met concert mentioned above is 22 songs of their best material, and among their best live recordings. But *Evolve* from the 2023 MTV VMAs is a total mind warp. So is *Hell You Call a Dream* from their tenth anniversary show at the PEPSI Center, CDMX. So is the live video/studio audio version of *Automatic Sun,* their most recent release. You can start anywhere and not be disappointed. But DO NOT MISS their two TEDx Talks at the University of Nevada in 2016 and 2017. Those are tear jerkers for many. There is plenty to keep you busy!

I’m sure it’s already in the comments elsewhere but … that is The Warning Cave. The home basement. & your looking at dads prized Harley Davidson spread around the room.
& yes, the “James Face”. Dany worked as hard on that as she did the song (to the consternation of her sisters) & that work has paid off 1000x over as you will see as you traverse universe that is The Warning.
Next stop? Everything. Literally everything (soon to be 60 songs deep) However, from this video the next stop is normally ‘Enter Sandman’ 2021 off ‘The Metallica Blacklist’ (& yes, I’d go OMV first and then live @ Metropolitan CDMX).

They have so much great music to view but I am sure you will get one for Teatro Metropolitan Live concert which in my 60+ years of listening to Rock is simply an EPIC concert, hands down the best I have ever heard. As good as they are as musicians they are even better people. Sweet,humble, down to earth. Their live concerts are G rated. No short skirts or heavy makeup. No cursing or obscene behavior. But when they get on stage they are vicious and take no prisoners. This band has no bad songs. Seriously none. Your favorite Warning song will be the last one you just heard. You want more. Ironically, they have a song called "More", both an official video and a live session at the 2023 MTV VMAs. A web search for "Evolve The Warning Live" will turn it up. The official is fun, but the live version is better, IMO. But pay attention to the lyrics: like much of The Warning's lyrics, they can be disturbing despite the high energy vibe of the music and performance.

If you want to start back towards the beginning, I suggest (like a lot of others) starting with their TedX performances 2016 & 2017 where the girls play original music and speak a little about their journey. They have a couple of their (pretty iconic now) concerts available (in full or in pieces) on their youtube channel. Live at the Dakota bar from Jan 2018 where they play songs from their 1st full album XX1 Century Blood, live at Lunario from ?Nov 2018 where they play their entire concept album Queen of the Murder Scene in order. And, of course, the absolutely spectacular concert at the Teatro Metropolitan in 2022 where they play the entirety of their 3rd album ERROR mixed with some of their older songs. That's just for starters. You have no idea of the rabbit hole you just jumped into.

@@teckreactionsYes, The entire metropolitan theater show 2022 is great, it is filmed in high quality. In that show they perform songs from their first three albums. I also recommend the presentation of their second live album at Lunario in 2018, it is a concept album, a novel, and it is performed wonderfully. I can't wait for you to see Pau, the drummer, doing lead vocals and playing at the same time, she's pure dynamite...

Great 1st-time reaction to The Warning Matt!
The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards.
Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing.
Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage.
After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020.
They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track!
They are going to release their 4th studio album "KEEP ME FED" June 28th, 2024. And 5 singles off the new album have already been released: "MORE", "SICK", "HELL YOU CALL A DREAM", "QUE` MA`S QUIERES", and recently "AUTOMATIC SUN".
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock.
Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico.
They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old.
Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC.
When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 24, 22 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #51 original songs (not including the remaining songs from the upcoming 4th studio album).
Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many.
Drummer Paulina recently won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year award and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's recent reader's poll.
I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR. I have talked with their parents on 2 occasions and have had many conversations with their manager Rudy.
Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.

Fun reaction. Now you should listen to their reimagined version of that song - first the official video with Alessia Cara, and then their live version at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City. And then just started picking songs - you won't be disappointed!
There is a concert they did in 2015, before they went to Berkley College of Music, in Boston. It was done to show the school that they had the skills to be to compete at that level since two of the sisters were to young to enroll. Ale the bassist was just 10 and Pau the drummer was 13. Dany the guitarist was 15 and eligible to enroll. Trey Salazar put this full concert out it's called The Warning at Liceo de Monterrey (complete) June 8, 2015. If I got something wrong the army will correct.

I believe you are mistaken, and it was not done for Berklee. This video was released Jul 8, 2014. They went to Berklee College of Music in 2015, for a five-week training program _after_ April 2015, when the band appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The Berklee program was partly funded by donations from DeGeneres and the Target Corporation. I believe Berklee would take donations from DeGeneres and the Target Corporation as enough qualification.

As far as I'm concerned, so long as you keep reacting to them live you won't go far wrong. My top suggestions would be their latest live video, _Hell_ _You_ _Call_ _a_ _Dream_ from Pepsi Center CDMX (for maximum age contrast to this one), _Evolve_ at the VMAs, or literally anything from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 (my second-favourite 21st Century concert video after Nightwish @Wacken 2013) - _Disciple_ is a particular favourite. Best Gen Z hard rock power trio on the scene today. Drummer won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year, bassist is a Spector Bass featured artist, and the guitarist has been personally gifted guitars by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Matt Belamy of Muse, both acts they've toured with. Not sure starting at the beginning is the best choice but here we are. Now you have to keep going.

Man, you have no idea what kind of rabbit hole you've jumped into. I was only introduced to them about 3 weeks ago and I have been obsessed ever since. This is the first time in my 42 years i've fallen in love with a band this quickly. I've been listening to them every day and watching reactions to them. It's a sickness.
If I may make a recommendation if you want to get to know them and the people around them and their history and process I would highly recommend 6 part (each about 5 minutes) documentary series called "Mayday in the Making" and the 20 minute "TIDAL Rising documentary."
