"REVENANT" from this same concert is a perfect match for this channel. Unbelievable vocals.
For future reviews, the audio for this entire concert is extremely good. They do use a midi board (drummer's left side) selectively for backing tracks when needed.

The high background “whoa, oh, oh, oh”s you hear are Alessia Cara’s voice (with whom they collaborated on the studio version for the Metallica Blacklist album) on a backing track. On the studio version Alessia also sings the first verse, which Dany now sings in live performances. 👍😎
To see Dany live at her best vocals, I strongly recommend their performance of Hell You Call A Dream at the Pepsi Center, that they recently posted on their UA-cam channel.
Regarding the vocals in this show, there are a couple of places where the mic cuts off or Dany misses a note, so it is recorded live. Also I have seen them a few times live and this is cleaned up a little bit, but very close to what you get.
Others have informed you this was recorded for Metallicas black list album with Canadian pop star Alysia Cara. In this live show they did include her backing vocals in a track in the song. You can hear her woh ohs in a couple of parts. They could have definitely done this live without her vocals at all but definitely wanted her included since she contributed to the writing of the song as well.
They wrote, recorded and mixed this in one week. One week. It ended up being the first track on the Blacklist album.
I was in this concert and this video does not make justice for them, they really sound great live, they are awesome.

This song was part of the 30th anniversary tribute album to Metallica's Black List in 2021 along with Canadian singer Alessia Cara, where many artists from other genres performed songs from the original album to raise funds for charity.
Should also point out that in order to honor Alessia that they kept some of her vocals in the background.
A lot of good covers on that Black List compilation, including the studio version of this … but was I the only one who thought Alessia Cara sounded a bit like Cristina Scabbia?
If you want to hear more of the drummer Pau's vocals from this concert at the Metropolitan Theater she does sing lead on a few songs. 23, Dust to Dust, Revenant, and Narcisista. She also shares lead vocals (they switch back and forth) with Dany on a couple songs like Survive and Disciple. You really can't lose watching any of the performances in this show.

When Metallica invited them to do this cover for their Blacklist album, they had to come up with an idea, write it and record it on a super tight deadline... but it turned out amazing!

As 'covers' go, IMHO ... their rendition of this iconic, epic, hard rock classic is on another level, as are these amazing young women.

The drummer has some crazy vocal chops as well - take a look at '23' from this same concert (Teatro Metropolitan). This whole concert was special on so many levels.

And it's metellica temselves for the blacklist album 30th anniversary ask them to put the song upside down except the lyrics they wrote, palyed recorded and mixed that in 10 days (pandemiy months) with Alessia Cara
Funfact: the guitar that Dany is playing in that video was given to her by Lzzy Hale, the lead vocalist of Halestorm
They just dropped a new video at midnight last night, automatic sun. The video is from last Sunday night and it’s out already on their channel.
The original video is from that concert although it has been severely edited to make it more of a music video... As opposed to the video from the Teatro Metropolitan concert , which is pure video with some possible splices to fit together. Unfortunately the music is not from the concert, it is pre-recorded from the studio which kills the video by about 50% for me 😢😢.
@@steve318k it’s obviously not the music from Sunday, pretty sure Dany can’t sing with her mouth closed 5 feet from her microphone. It also says studio version right on it.

Metallica tasked The Warning and Alessia Cara to rework the song. To keep the lyrics, but turn it inside out, upside down and make it their own. There is a video where The Warning performed Enter Sandman accompanied by the string section of an orchestra.

Thank you Ken. These Ladies definitely not a tribute band. They did 21 of their original songs at this EPIC concert, this is the only cover song as they did a re-invention of this song for Metallica's Blacklist album and had Aleesia Cara do backing vocals, was done during the pandemic I believe. There is an OMV with Alleesia and the Ladies.
Just a personal comment that the Aleesia Cara tiny voice just doesn't work with this song. The Warning version alone is best of show.

I was just going through some of your videos and I would really like to recommend you checking out some more of Home Free again. It seams like it's been a little since you did. I would recommend 3 songs and in this order too. Don't listen out of order or it kinda ruins the surprises in them. "End of the road" (boys to men) or "Elvira" (oak ridge boys) Depending on your likes. Then go straight to "Mayday". Then to blow your mind on Tim Foust, Listen to "will you still love me / Stay" And just for a fun video if you need a laugh, watch "Champagne taste" with Home free. Should make you laugh... :)

Metallica loved it. Put this version 1st song on the album.
It was done in the same track order and then alphabetically. So the only reason theirs is first is because ES was the opener and because of Alessia CARA.
They really quit doing covers a long time ago, but made an exception for this. Their own songs are BETTER than Metallica's works, IMHO. Many of us think this reimagining is better than the original. Their fourth album, *Keep Me Fed,* will come out June 28. Five singles from it have been released so far. *Automatic Sun* came out 4/5/2024. *S!CK, Que Mas Quieres,* and *Hell You Call a Dream* were released earlier this Spring. *More* was released about a year ago. EVERYTHING this band has released is worth a listen, even the EP they released in 2015 when they were just kids! Check out their UA-cam channel for hundreds of videos. Their live concert videos, including the other 21 songs from the same 08/29/2022 concert that featured Enter Sandman, are great. They are the full package of writers, composers, recording artists, and performers.

You say "just started", they've been at this 10 years now! The bass player was 9 (she's now 19), Paulina (drummer) is 22, and Daniella (Dany) guitar is currently 24. Metallica asked them to do this any way they wanted, the only condition - don't change the lyrics. It is track one on Metallica's "Black List" album - a tribute to 30 years since the release of Metallica's "Black" album, featuring many artists doing covers of their songs.
