The closest thing I’ve played and completed to this is remnant 2, I enjoyed it so much I pre ordered this. (Not the same I know). So glad I did, I can’t put it down and aside from the performance issues and sometime odd camera angle it’s a bloody masterpiece, I do mean quite literally bloody too, gore is plentiful and the artwork is sublime. I’m around 30 hours in and can’t put it down. First impression weren’t great what with the aforementioned issues but I stuck with and I’m so glad I did. A nice mix of challenging gameplay, secrets, puzzles and lore. 7/10 feels harsh for me but as with all things gaming it’s subjective. If they were to patch the issues I’d happily give it a 9/10. A fair review otherwise.
I've picked this one and have been enjoying it so far. I am also thinking about getting remnant 2 perhaps after this one. How do they stack against each other in your opinion?
I haven't played it yet (have about 10 hours to go), but it has already downloaded and it's had a pair of patches; so I'm hoping it's running smooth when I do get to play. REALLY looking forward to it.
This new team has stood out and has shown that they can compete with AAA studios, the game is not perfect, but what I have experienced is something unique and similar. Unique, due to the implementation of Unreal 5 technology with incredible views and graphics in general, in addition to the innovative reality exchange of its worlds, it reminds me something of Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver. Similarly, well there is an avalanche of titles that have tried to capture the Soulslike genre, developed by the incredible ''Hidetaka Miyazaki'' and I think HEXWORKS and Defiant Studios are pretty close. Don't hesitate, this game fulfills its purpose and surely much more in the next release!
I have both PS5 and the PC version and it’s still hard to recommend the console version. It’s serviceable in performance mode but it gets really frame-y in way more sections of the game than a good PC does blasting ultra settings with DLSS. Additionally there might be FSR running in the background on PS5 you can’t turn off because it has a slight ghosting effect noticeable on longer weapons like long swords/grand swords and grand hammers. If you have a PC I would still say play it on PC.
@@zacharybailey6905 You have the game. Can you in good conscience recommend this game now or should I wait? Got burned on Jedi Survivor earlier this year. 🤦♂️
I'm so conflicted on this game. It looks very fun, but I really can't stand the fact that the game runs in 1080p to achieve 60fps and 1440p 30fps. I know it's UE5, but considering Epics showcases and big words on this engine combined with Sony's "8K"-logo on the PS5 box I feel like this is not optimized enough. I see that the PC version runs like complete s*** as well..
What an absurd take. I get people not playing it if it stutters/freezes. But simply because its 1080p? Get over urself man. A game’s main priority should be whether it is fun or not.
The game doenst look that good if you ask me. I play on a PC with a 4090 and it looks good but its not looking better than the Demon Souls remake if you ask me.
After a couple of updates, it is now completely playable. The odd bit of stutter, but nothing too major. Prior to the updates though the game ran so poorly it would give you a headache in some sections - Aaron

I just got mine through FedEx. I don't think I'm playing it for a while though. Going to wait for some patches. Maybe in a month or two. I want the game to run well and apparently right now it does not
Genuine question and not hating, and I don’t care for Soulslike just not for me, but are people getting tired of these games or are they going strong? This just seems similar to other ones at a glance
No disrespect but I don't think you know what you're talking about. The only Souls like game Sony has ever made were demon souls and bloodborne. Those were PS3 and PS4 games. Sony didn't even make them. They paid from software to make them. When the PS5 released they did a remake of demon souls. But other than those three games right there they have no souls like games in their portfolio whatsoever. Sony doesn't do Souls like games. They do games like Spider-Man God of War Horizon forbidden west, Uncharted ghost of tsushima Ratchet & Clank among many many others and none of them are in the souls like genre of video games. None of them. Anything that is a Souls like is not done by Sony but by someone else. This is basic video game knowledge
@AloneAgainstAll885 100% agree. I unfortunately never played souls games before. But elden ring was my first. Man I got completely slaughtered but I love the get good factor. Either get got or become a forsaken soul. Full of illusions and upgrades. These games teach you to never give up.

Lies of pi easily. The performance is great and it is probably the first souls like game that feels just like a from soft game. They actually nailed it.
Completely agree, the trailer was misleading. I’m also really sick of the super bulky looking armor in these games. I want a Baldur’s Gate 3 customization for a game like this instead.
I tried playing this shit for 2 hours. I just get so bored with these games. The moment to moment combat. Clanky, Janky, uninspired. This is what kills these games. If this felt like Sekiro. Then, the game would sell itself. But I'm tired of these janky combat games.
