its been 5 years. and i remember where i was at that point in my life like it was yesterday. still trying to move forward. even when some part of my heart is in the past. thank you for always being there, amanda.
I have never heard a more original person than Amanda Palmer, she is by far my favorite female artist of all time. Her lyrics are so beautiful and meaningful. She's absolutely amazing!!!
thank you, amanda, for giving me the opportunity to experience songs by one of my favorite bands again in a completely different but equally lovely way.
I love the original (Radiohead version), a lot, but Amanda always makes a song her own. I love the artsy look and techniques of the video, and her soft voice is just wonderful. Thanks again Amanda!
Thanks to Thom Yorke's great song and genius Grant Gee's idea for original video we can now observe AFP's good taste in her cover songs choices. Bless them all.
Recently found Amanda through her TED Talk and so grateful that I did. Fell in love with her and her music. One of the few songs I've listened to so far and definitely gonna have this one on repeat for the next month or so. Video reminds me of a painting... don't know what it's called, but search up Mogwai - Take Me Somewhere Nice. 😃
I don't know if you know this but this isn't her song, it's a cover of the song No Surprises by Radiohead, but it's still a great cover anyway. Though the video is a bit more depressing than the original as the water doesn't even come back down!
I honestly didn't know this was a Radiohead song until now, so thanks! I must admit I prefer Amanda's cover over the original. And I agree with you on that last bit, I feel a bit claustrophobic whenever I watch this.
How can you tell if a song is great? If that song sends chills down your spine when you listen to it. This one definitely has the "spine chills" factor.
Another true sign of a real musical artist when you can bring originality to another band or persons song!!!! And who in the hell does her videos??? Her videos are all artistically in synch with the song and the message / lyric and feeling of the tune. Amazing!!!!!
So, Ok! Computer helped me process my grandpa's death and this is one of my favorite songs from that album. This cover is absolutely amazing and I feel like I need a good cry now. I love it.
How are you this amazing?! I bet you are even a cooler mama! You have brought me been with me through so many crazy times. Thank you thank you thank you!
" The pain, so unexpected and undeserved had for some reason cleared away the cobwebs. I realized I didn't hate the cabinet door, I hated my life... My house, my family, my backyard, my power mower. Nothing would ever change; nothing new could ever be expected. It had to end, and it did. now in the dark world where I dwell, ugly things, and surprising things, and sometimes little wondrous things, spill out in me constantly, and I can count on nothing." -Bob Arctor; A Scanner Darkly
Why does this have less than a million views? Amanda, you are one of the most inspiring, powerful, and beautiful women I know. I come to this song in my most down moments and your voice always picks me back up so I can keep going. I am grateful when I found your music in high school to help through the hard times. Don't ever change.
Wow...speechless. Always love Radiohead verse, but Amanda artistic expression is great. Love the ukulele and animation (reminds me of Waking Life). Thanks for sharing your feelings through the gift of music.
I first found amanda palmer well I cannot say for sure but I have listened to evelyn evelyn for a while but then I figured out the singers so I rushed over to check who this singer was amazed by her evelyn evelyn album and shook on how I never knew it was amanda. So I listened to amanda palmers song - I belive the first one was the killing type and I really liked her voice 😊 So I tried a nother and then came another song I found myself in I think it would be a Fandom? I really love amanda's music. 😊😊😊😊 Neil has been my favorite author for a while my first book from him is Coraline. I cannot call myself a true fan of his artwork though.. because I have only read two of his books. :3 the graveyard book is the one I just started.
I remember where i was the first time i saw this music video. I was at a summer camp and sitting at one of the computers in the library. I’ll never forget it.
Amanda Palmer is some kind of wonderful. I'm heading towards the 50 mark and only discovered her music a few years ago, but already I rate her as innovative and as creative as my teen heroine Kate Bush. To release an EP of Radiohead covers played on the ukelele - who else could pull that off?
It's been two years and I'm still listening to this Amanda is one of the most wounded beautiful artists artist out there she always manages to get me out of my depression and melt my heart thanks Amanda Edit: Ik it's a radiohead cover but it's by far one of the best
I totally agree. Why do people think that saying something awful because it's a joke or it's on the internet, that makes it somehow better? What a jerk.
The animation was breathtaking.
Literally.
It's a animated version of original song video.
All I can think about is drawing all the frames, must have been work for weeks
It’s a technique called rotoscoping.
A beautiful, strong voice coupled with raw, unfiltered emotion.
What a beautiful and heartwarming treat.
This is a cover. The real artist is radiohead

Feel you!
I literally cannot listen to this song without crying, Radiohead’s lyrics paired with Amanda’s voice breaks me down immediately.
I watch this when I have anxiety. Thank Amanda Palmer.
CrimsonCreations me too xoxo
I prefer the original Radiohead

My four year old daughter cought me watching this she started singing with it and I melted
Great parenting!
why would you let her listen to something about killing yourself....
@@CrokusTheDerg because she doesn't understand the metaphor kids tend not to .
It's been 2 years and I still listen to this to this today thank you amanda Palmer you have helped me through so much
The art of asking audiobook was one of the best non fiction books I'd ever listened. It was a great book. Everyone should read it.
Akhil Doji I second that
Radiohead's songs tend to fill me with a very bittersweet and beautiful melancholy, to which Amanda's voice is well-suited. Going to buy this album
I love her so much
Amanda captures the human condition as as well or better then anyone.

If you found her through her TED Talk, then I recommend you reading her book. It was inspired by the TED Talk and it's called "The Art of Asking" :D
Mariana Nunes, thank you for your recommendation. I just might pick it up as I'm always looking for something new to read.
An Effortless Smile dont buy it shes racist
This inspired me so much. It's the reason I've begun writing again.
How can you tell if a song is great? If that song sends chills down your spine when you listen to it. This one definitely has the "spine chills" factor.
For ukulele folks, that's a G, Em, C, D.
Oh, shoot, that's pretty easy!
i can imagine this in an afterschool program commercial. there has to be a name for that kind of cliche advertising technique. love this video.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I like this even more than the original. So perfect.
I can't believe you either
i love this song! I love her voice! so breathtaking! almost as good as the original!
my favorite radiohead song

It took me ages but I got this video and the one without effects to play in sync and it's really lovely.
I love Radiohead and it is refreshing to hear this song sung differently so that it sounds new. Loved it.
amanda, thank you for being such a shining star.
your voice still give me peace.
didn't know Amanda Palmer had a cover of this song! the animation and vocals are really amazing!
Whenever I feel a bit down, this song always cheers me right up.

YES
To those of you who are wondering, the background voice around 3:00 is saying:
"Such a pretty house,
and such a pretty girl,
3x Get me out of here."
Dang it, I thought it was "garden" instead of "girl".
Could be, I was just doing it from hearing.
grande absinthium musisKat it's "garden" instead of "girl".
It's garden. This is a Radiohead cover. :)
I love this song.. and Amanda Palmer has been a favorite artist of mine for years. Keep up the amazing work ;)
I just can't stop listening to this wonderful music. Amanda you are my ukelele girl. thank you******
I love her
Lovely animation!
Brilliant.
This song (and version) gets me through the holidays.
