And then you see Shady Sands and Vault City in Fallout 2, 160 years after the war, fully functionning societies with a fiat based currency, buildings made of raw material, universities, scientists, doctors, a porn industry, a senate, actual rancher becoming so rich they pose a threat to democracy, a mining town etc... Places where the threat of raiders, the wildlife and the terrain still being shitholes but with actually livable shacks without trash or cadavers inside. Oh yeah, and Deathclaws were considered dangerous pests due to the advance of civilisation rather than a horrible legend. Also, 80 years after the war, Necropolis, a city entirely inhabited by ghouls so mutated they're looking like they're still melting, you see their bones, exposed organs, they look like actual cadavers and they don't have all of their cognition... and they still managed to repurposed the ruins they've exiled themselves in, even installed a big water pump. Here's not forgetting that the Gun Runners already existed and manufactured IMPROVED gun designs. The East coast is just... somehow lagging behind even getting their decency back.

the cleaner it is, the bigger the target. It's like that old show, The Colony. They built a windmill, and while they were building, one of the people constructing it had himself convinced that power was essential before securing food. He also said "IT will become a beacon of hope to other survivors." It became a beacon that they had surplus energy, so they must have surplus supplies and are prime candidates to be raided. I put up walls, had dozens of turrets, generators, and had supplies and houses for all. Still, someone always got kidnapped. I could visit all the time, do all the quests, and some fool will still bang on that damned wall with a hammer, but never repair a single thing. I downloaded the SIms mods just to get them to do something useful.
I was happy with the shorts before, but it looks like you're really trying to outdo yourself here. Please don't give up on the non-green screen stuff. I really dig that realism

Even the Prydwens main hall is trashed, jeez
@@scoopidywhoop7484 but they keep the world clean of menaces like ghouls and mutants
@@georgemurdock7670 how about they focus on cleaning the scatmarks on their power armor they never take off. Enclave ftw 🙌
@@scoopidywhoop7484 enclave are the biggest fools. What a stupid organization promotes genetic cleanliness but allows blacks in there ranks lmao
@@georgemurdock7670 holy shit I love you😂 no homo though
It’s even weirder when you head over to Cabot House, it’s pristine, and shows that people could clean things up, but they just don’t.
Its literally the thing that bothers me the most about fallout. Mfers just gave up. 200 years of "fuck it, this is fine"
LMFAO ud be surprised.....turning into a ghoul and watching all your loved ones get shot by raiders and eaten by deathclaws will do that...
I've seen ghetto hoods and worn-down trailer parks that weren't too far from this, only missing the skeletons.
@@arandompasserby7940 Lol i was about to say ta=hat...also trying to find clean water and food every day, plus lacking food and water would make you too lazy to "clean up" those random bus tires sitting around or the rubble piles. I Live in NYC and I shit you not, its like you said, basically just missing the skeletons and burnt up cars. Ever seen the litter on the beaches of Atlantic City NJ? Its basiaclly the same beach by the Museum of Witchcraft in Fallout 4 lol.
Boston just be like that
@@MarkyMarkTeamAmerica some stuff sure but there's stuff that cleaning up will help keep you alive
I sort of assumed that everybody in the Fallout universe attended the Pol Pot school of decoration.
pol pot fandom is beautiful
That’s really fucking accurate
So, you've seen my standard settlement design. I usually refer to it as Raider Chic, and it's not for everyone. But it keeps the neighbors on their side of the fence and reminds workers what happened the last time they fell behind in adhesive production.
200 years and nobody has gotten a broom out
Honestly I hate that I always get Dust and grime on my jacket
Hey now, that "body" is named Harold and he's an old friend.
I just assume they talk to the skeletons. It's the fucking post apocalypse afterall.
my first base in fallout 76 was a bus......suffice to say I left after I started having conversations with the 2 skeletons in the back.
“Nah don’t start cleaning cuz i said something”
Codsworth lives in sanctuary hills for 200 years and couldn’t be bothered to sweep the floor
Wait I never realized Fallout 3 and 4 takes place literally centuries after the nuclear war. Towns would literally look normal by then
The Institute preventing both the Commonwealth and Capital Waste from improving too much, so they can assert their authority when it's time: Seriously, why does *Nobody* Read the terminals around here?!
Lets be fair, most places would have plumbing and electricity. They'd could have replaced the newspapers all over the floor with Real Handmade Carpets by now!
Their tech would probably be close to like that of the 1900's.
At the bare minimum, you'd think places would be using new wood instead of *salvaged, multi-century-old plywood.*
There are trees all over the place, they're not dead, it's just _winter._
They DID in Fallout and Fallout 2.
Any place that wasn't an actual ruin or outright slum was at least CLEAN.
Thats why the Institute is a big plus for my Sole Survivor. clean Buildings, clean showers, clean toilets, AND clean food/water. anyone would choose the clean environment in real life I think
But muh "Institute Eeeeeevil" line?
Except they are also ecofascists, so this only applies to the "selected few"
Can't even produce their own energy, jeez
And toilet paper
"A clean desk is a sign of a sick mind." my teacher once told me. Definitely applies to the institute. Anyone would choose a clean environment, yes, if it was safe. You never know when you're gonna be replaced and tested on with the institute.
Besides the slavery, dictatorship and wannabe gestapo they have, the institute is alright
This is something about the FO series that has driven me nuts for years.
This man single handledly holding UA-cam shorts on his back
Thanks Mum
Even in 76 where people just got there for a few weeks managed to clean and make it look like a normal store
Bethesda employees don't understand the concept of fixing things
Uh, yes, they do Fallout 3 a literal war zone, Fallout 4. Every time your settlement gets too powerful, the Institute attacks it. I think that would stop progress.
@@redemptionjack4657 Why does the institute care about Trudy's diner?
@@redemptionjack4657 plus the whole relatively recent cpg massacre and the numerous genuine synth replacements, the betrayal and collapse of the minutemen, the gunner having free reign to raise hell. Boston may not be as irradiated as dc but at least dc all threats were visible
@@thatguythisguy4247 That to if they made the threats more noticeable then many would understand why very few rebuilt.
@thunderspark1536 Becuase she is a merchant and because Wolfgang is there and he sells Ron's of drugs both have contacts making them a good target for replacement.
Codsworth does mention cleaning the house when you first talk to him
That’s why I went with the Institute: maybe they are evil but at least they how to keep a clean floor.
The shadow transition is a really nice touch. Well done
When you discover a settlement it should be filthy. But once you leave and come back or wait a week it should be a lot neater.
Skeletons gone, shrubbery shaved down, rubble picked up, and sidewalks swept of dirt/mud (Sanctuary…).
Make it the job of a scavenger. When you put down scavenging stations and assign settlers it starts the cleaning process.
I would give everything for more sarcastic/asshole yet stunningly accurate dialogue lines.
That kid never gets up off that floor, years later. Your supposed to get sober and start taking your life back🤣
Bro your sense of humor is SAVAGE, lol. Love it.
The detail of him walking into the shade like he’s actually there is unreal. The immersion is appreciated
in fo3 it made sense, people weren't settling in most of the places because the super mutants made the area incredibly dangerous, in fo4 it's a lot more settled and the raiders are typically not drug addled murderhobos who survive on cannibalism
That's one thing i loved so much about new vegas. Places people settled were cleaned up the best they could be. Better areas like the strip and camp mcarren were really clean, while the worse an area was the more rubble and trash you could expect.
"Cleaning required Abraxo cleaner, and we don't have Abraxo cleaner. Some Apocalyptic Alchemist took it and turned it into Mentats. I would have sold that for more but..." *Looks over at Junky Jimmy*
YT shorts is usually a sludge pit of filth but, seeing your high quality, well produced skits is always so incredibly refreshing, thanks.
Codsworth told you why people don't clean as soon as you left the vault. "How do you pollish rust?!"
Get a angle grinder and a wire wheel that rust will be gone
I mean pulling out a literal skeleton out of your place of business would be a start. If you look at FNV shops, you can see theyve been cleaned up a bit to at least look presentable, with various items on display too
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYIN'-
Codsworth is an idiot. You don't polish rust you buffer it out. You could easily get rid of rust with some steel wool and water. Rust is not difficult to get rid of. If they can keep 200 year old weapons functional then they can get rid of rust
You guys should check out how people turn old, rusty vintage cars into beautiful classics. It's not difficult at all
This guy is one of the funniest sketch makers ever. I will literally never forget the sketch where you just roast the companion “you lucky I even brought you out here” 🤣🤣🤣
And then after you put your heart and soul into restoring Sanctuary or the Castle and making them look downright amazing, you'll still have your Companions wandering around saying shit like "Man, what a dump!"
The attention to detail to go outside and aim the shade so it looks more real is fantastic and that deserves a sub
Thank you friend!
This is the kind of content I want
Skeleton? That's Mrs Jenkins, their most loyal and repeat customer in such times.
Seriously, though, this diner has always made me so mad for this very reason! Like, you literally haven't done a damn thing since the bombs dropped.
I thought, "yeah, your right. Why has nobody cleaned up the rubble and vines in all these places."
I had forgotten about the Corpse In The Corner!
Frfr, there's soap and paint and cleaning supplies everywhere....
It slays me that some people in the clean vault are dirty. And take a good look at Macready without clothes on.
“Don’t get me started on the futility of dusting a collapsed house… and the car! THE CAR!!! HOW DO YOU POLISH RUST!?”
If Codsworth’s been at it for 210 years and hasn’t succeeded then there is genuinely no hope for anyone else.
Apparently, Codsworth was never programmed to handle an angle grinder and wire brush
I literally thought this as I was scrapping everything in Sanctuary. My brain just kinda went "This is what it really looks like??" lmao
And the worst thing is there are clean places in Fallout 4. Covenant for example. But apparently only psychos know how to clean up.
Same with Tyres none of the Vehicles still around have any, it's not like they rotted away, they're still there, just not on the Vehicles.
Some Madman went around and removed all the Tyres from all the Cars and threw them in the Landscape for no reason.
This is the one part of Fallout lore I don't get. Are people that depressed that they don't even care that they live in a dump?
They leave the dead skeleton there to add some color to the establishment. They dress him up for holidays, all the locals love him.
Bruh I swear half the time i enter a place i find myself cleaning all that shit up lol! I mean like really you guys just gonna leave that skeleton family of four sitting at the dinner table? Hahaha
Now this, this is excellent Fallout content. Need more like this.
meanwhile most New Vegas interiors actually look like someone has been living/working there long term and not like they just showed up a few days ago
If I had to guess why no one cleans, I’d say depression. Or they just want things to look cool and post apocalyptic for when you get there. XD
If everyone was so depressed from the day they were born they wouldn't have built towns or survived. They'd have to be tougher and since that's all they've ever known there'd be nothing to be depressed about. Most of them would've only heard stories of a war long ago from ghouls, if they even spoke to them. But the ones who didn't trust ghouls would just accept it as the only world they ever knew and would live as their parents lived and farm and clean and live life, because none of them would've been alive when the bombs dropped and it's now several generations since they had
Why not both? You can be depressed and have an aesthetic, you know...
@@mavendeo”Trash heap chic” is not an aesthetic, let alone one to strive for. Don’t be obtuse.
I appreciate this guys content immeasurably
Look at that tweaker don’t do drugs kids or you’ll end up like him
Bro stepped his game up with the greenscreens
Love the green screen
"How you doing after school special?" 💀
Yeah, some basic cleaning would be nice lol
the cleaner it is, the bigger the target.
What would have been a great feature would be that the stronger the minuteman's presence in the commonwealth, the cleaner it would be, and by the end, it could be the beginnings of the east coasts own Shady Sands
“That’s where I’d start” absolutely wrote me off 😅
No one owning a broom is one of the weirdest post-apocalyptic tropes.
You nailed it on this one. This bugged me so much with 3 and 4. Playing these games was like watching a long episode of hoarders.
Literally one of my many many pet peeves on fallout 4 especially codsworth it's been over 200 YEARS !!!!! WHAT THE HELL HAS HE BEEN CLEANING THE HOUSE IS A MESS !!!!!!
Your finally getting the recognition you deserve homie ! I still remember when your max luck video in fnv got shared all around !
Bro the dead body part caught me off guard 🤣🤣☠️☠️
The dead body adds character
Your Channel is making me want to play Fallout again. Thinking I’ll start with 3
This is why people are probably suprised when they finally get to my settlement and it doesn't have any skeletons or trash scattered everywhere.
Best fallout skits out here 🙏
I just found these videos and can’t get enough! 😂
