After an incredible 3 years of living, working and traveling in our self converted Sprinter Van we’ve had to make the very tough decision to abandon our tiny home in Africa to take a rescue flight back to Canada. As it has for so, so many of us, this global pandemic has absolutely flipped our world upside down. And while quarantining was going well for us it became apparent that things would be different for a long while. When our Prime Minister announced that he was sending repatriation flights over to Africa to pick up Canadians who were stuck (due to border closures) we consulted with friends and family closest to us and realized that in this time of crisis we should be back in our home country. The gravity of what we’ve just done hasn’t quite sunk in and we ((especially me (Bec)) are having a really hard time adjusting to our new reality. Having said that we think the most important thing we can all do now is STAY HOME, keep healthy with healing foods & try to look at this as a time that we (and the planet) desperately needed to reset and realign. Sending each of you so much love throughout this time x
Eamon & Bec I’m so happy you went home and didn’t stay due to stubbornness. I’m so excited to see your daily vlogs cause being indoors suck lol enjoy 😉
Hi Eamon and Bec - I'm the girl who you met at the airport in Casablanca and then in Montreal after the flight. I'm so glad to see you made it back to TO. Know how much it meant to me to meet you during a whirlwind, unimaginable day. I so appreciated you both taking the time to chat. Thanks for keeping it real, but keeping it positive. Sending so much love to you both!
Hi beautiful Lydia! So great to connect (rather briefly) on this day. How are you coping over in Montreal?? Hope you've seen the good in all of this craziness ❤️. Sending you lots of love from Day 7 of our quarantine x
Came back to watch this after seeing you've finally been reunited with Trinity. I'm sure it feels pretty bitter sweet, but just know Lee is right there with you. The throuple is eternal. Safe travels ❤
every now and then I am coming back to this video. Not just because I love your videos with Lee (Happy Birthday up there!), but also because it reminds of these strangely covid-starting times. Your whole life can change so so incredibly fast and I don't know, this video just feels right to watch. love you guys!
same here, it makes me feel some type of way watching this back now that i know how strange it got with the pandemic and all the major things that happened in eamon and bec’s lives after this
oh it's so nice we have this amazing memory of Lee documented to relive over and over. Lee-less is tough indeed. It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. Love and miss you forever Lee. Hope to meet you in the next life.
I totally understand what you guys are feeling :/ I'm an ER nurse and had to leave my van with really kind strangers in California to go work back home. It's not easy not knowing when I'll see her and all my stuff again 😭 sending lots of 💜💜
Eamon and Bec, my deep condolences....I always admired your friendship with each other and Lee. The video of y'all quarantining in Canada was one of the reasons I subscribed your channel.
Hi Eamon and Bec - don't worry it will all work out - you're back home now to ride out these times - and they will pass. Like you say a great time to reflect and it will change peoples outlook on life. We are currently self isolating in our van in Turkey. The people here have been so kind to us and even bought us extra food today. For the moment our around the world drive is on pause but most importantly we haven't lost our sense of humour !! Day 10 self isolating in the van and all good - we don't have everything we want but we do have everything we need - Keep happy, safe and positive like you always are - Chris & Marianne xx
Fellow canadian here! ❤️ It must have been so difficult to leave your van and your dream life in Africa, but I think you made the right call. Everything seems so uncertain at the moment, but we are all in this together! Stay safe everyone, lots of love!
Eamon, when you said 'we're going home' you sounded so relieved and so grateful. Your families must be so glad you're home and safe. Occy was so excited to see Lee ❤ BTW, Love your singing session in the airport.
Yes, big sense of relief that we had finally made a concrete decision and acted on it. There is nothing we can do now but stay in isolation and wait for this to pass :)
@@eamonandbec it was so nice of Lee's parents to make sure you guys came back to a fully stocked apartment. I'm in Ontario CA and it's still hard to find toliet paper. 👍 to Lee's parents. So sorry you had to leave your van. Sometimes we have to make tough decisions.
Don t worry guys, it is safe Airport, I left my Jeep there when I was forced to back to Austria for a month to take care of some family Business, and I came back and I found it as I left it.
Cried so many tears of sadness and joy with this video, but overall so excited for you both to be back with Trinity and can’t wait for the future travel videos!! Love y’all so much!!💗💗
I literally cried when watching this. I had to get out of Australia to make it back to the UK, and the stress of not knowing what decision to make and the journey etc was so relatable to this
I had to come back to the US from New Zealand. The most stressful part I think was just know when to finally make the decision to go home. I had only been in nz 2 weeks. It sucked having to come back. I was a day away from buying a car and putting a deposit down on a flat so thank goodness I didnt.
@@heathers8565 Wow, Heather thats crazy eh ! You are def. lucky that didnt happen yet. Glad to hear most of the travelling nomadic people have been getting back to their home and native land. Stay well and safe everyone.
Being outside of the US, I don’t understand. Leaving paradise... to go through hell to get back to the corona filled west... then to arrive in hell... then be stuck in hell... doesn’t sound like a very wise decision to me... from my perspective it’s not worth it. Just my perspective
J Fava it’s wise because they might not be able to get all the things they need if the virus hits where they are going back to canada they will have their families and friends
@@engraverjay Health insurance most likely you're not insured when you're in the foreign country and if you get hit will Corona and you have life threatening symptoms it's gonna be hard to get help versus if you go back to your home country.
You think it's wise to get in a enclosed space with 300 people, some who could be infected??? Interested to know why you think that's a good idea.... ✌🏼
My girlfriend and I were just about to start our vanlife journey when this all hit. We've been watching your videos for a while. I'm from Hawaii and she's from Korea and we met in London to start our journey in the U.K. (she got a work VISA) but we decided last week to go to Korea for a few months to be safe and wait out the virus. I hope you all enjoy quarantine and are healthy and safe. See you on the road someday! -Vinny and Hyunjeong.
Its so strange to watch this, almost 11 months later, and hear all this talk but not see any masks... strange how that's become a regular part of my life now
You’re living & learning. NONE OF US HAVE EVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. I forgive you guys for not seeing how detrimental this virus is/will be to the world. I didn’t think it could get to this point either. I’m wishing you all well, thanks for continuing to share your life & perspectives with us. Regardless of privilege and status, your emotions around this are valid. I see Bec making huge strides with every video, and I’ve chosen to be proud instead of thinking they should’ve “caught up” faster. Gimme a break. People in my home state of Utah are still gathering in 100+ groups and we have YOUNG ADULTS dropping dead. Stay safe
Thank you! There has been bad information on COVID-19 across the world. Lots of us didn't realize how bad it was going to be. They have the added stressor of leaving means leaving their house behind. I don't think they were stupid. They were uniformed. Really wishing people weren't taking their frustrations out on them right now.
@@crystalwolcott4744 No, they were extremely stupid. They had warnings 2 months ago if not before then. They literally said that they wanted to try to keep going for the UA-cam channel... They sacrificed millions and millions of people safety because of their UA-cam channel... Stupid isn't as strong enough of an adjective... Terrorist seems more fitting!
@@ezmeraldadudortoka7549 If you hate them so much why do you even watch them? I refuse to give channels I dislike clicks and views. If you don't like them don't support them. If you just want to be angry and mean, then I don't care to talk to you.
Bec, your sensitivity is what makes you so special. You burn out because you take on a lot of feeling and energy. You don’t ever need to explain or apologize for the amazing gift that you have. Eamon is your rock. Feel what you feel. Share when you can. It actually makes me feel better that I am sensitive. You aren’t complaining. You both are keeping it real. Change is hard for a sensitive person. You are going to make this home so warm and cozy. Celebrate your gift. NEVER apologize for it. We need your heart in this world. ❤️🙏
Glad y’all are home!! I appreciate the vibe that y’all have in this video. There’s a lot of stressful, sad vibes in UA-cam videos right now and somehow y’all don’t make it feel depressing even though it is a very stressful time for y’all and everyone. I definitely just immediately started crying when y’all opened the fridge!! 😂 that was just such a sweet act of love by that family!
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. So loved, so missed, so very dear. Take your time. We lost our son the same way. Not the exact same but the choosing. And to make that choice is something we don’t understand. 11 yrs later & everyone saying it gets easier, no. You just get use to carrying the pain/hurt. Probably as we are meant to after a lot of reflection, being grateful for the little things. Not understanding the choices someone else would make but learning to respect.. Understanding with help how I never had a clue until hindsight. Which will eat you up. Every single hair on your head was accounted for before you were born. The dragonfly in basement stairs got me. It’s the little things that let you know life goes on, beyond us. My heart and prayers go to her family so very much. Hang tight you two and never stop communicating.
These two a such a stunning couple!! Not only their outward appearance but the way they allow their true inner spirits to shine!! So happy that I accidentally came across them.
I have never been so glad or relieved to touchdown in my own country. I’m so glad you guys made it back ok. I only hope everyone survives this nightmare
my husband and i have been traveling for 5+ years, and had a to take an emergency flight out of Bali last minute, so I know how you guys felt. It was a very stressful time, glad to see you guys got out of Morroco safely! I think you made a smart decision .
14:05 Eamon does the old trick of staying behind to film himself going away, and misses the flight. Thankfully, Bec manages to negotiate for the flight to return and pick him up. Phew...
I cried and it broke my heart to see you guys to leave your home behind. I was waiting for this video to see where your journey will continued. I am glad that everyone is safe. 🙏
I stopped everything i was doing to watch this. You guys are incredible and i will do anything to support you in this awful situation. Your safety come first xx
I've just reached my home after boarding a rescue flight myself and I couldn't watch this video before because of how stressful the situation was for me. I need to say I am a little shocked to see there was absolutely no social distancing on the flight. We were one person per row in my flight. But anyway, what crazy times we're living on. Happy you've made it!
I am also currently under a two weeks quarantine and somehow I find quite comforting to know I am not the only one who suddenly found myself jumping on a plane quicker than I could process just to be with my family during this strange time. Let's stay strong together xx
Also it points out how gutless most people really are when shit gets real. All this van travel stuff was fantasy...ah, but going back "home" is also fantasy as they'll soon see.
important only for selfishly contaminating the entire continent because they were too lazy to get on a flight 2 months ago! This shouldn't even be legal!
Ezmeralda Du Dortoka none of the folks who I follow, were doing anything unsafe. My mom has covid and is fighting for her life in a hospital. Why blame innocent people. I don’t share their life choices but none of them have endangered anyone else. Take a breathe and be kind.
@@ndrose that logic and that approach to this crisis and pandemic is why the cases are still growing and why they're still people dying by the thousands every single day. You're complete lack of respect and your monumental ignorance doesn't save lives. It endangers them and takes them. They're endangering an entire continent. They decided to go drive around a whole different continent and come in contact with a whole bunch of people for months and months before they decided that they maybe should heed the warnings and make a responsible decision. But at that point that is not all responsible choice at all. They're literally endangering millions if not billions of people. I'm not exaggerating that and I'm not making those figures up they're literally being reported on by global news sources on the hour every hour. It's not my fault that you're choosing to ignore that but it's my responsibility to try to prevent you from acting so recklessly because it's literally my life and my family's life that you're endangering if you're making those kind of selfish decisions. Just because you follow somebody doesn't make them god. Obviously you should go through your list and check who you're following because these guys are extremely irresponsible, extremely destructive, and extremely ignorant. Please stay in your house. Please stay away from people. Please stop endangering everybody else's life on the entire planet.
Oh guys!! My heart was shaken feeling the energies of you making the final decisions, packing and saying G-bye to Trinity. Sad. And, so lit when the food was stalked in the fridge!!! Great episode!
It still gives me chills to see what 2020 was. To all the expats and travelers out there, we do hard things all the time for the enjoyment of the journey.
I’m glad you made it home. The van will be there when this is over. My isolation is still on in my 21 foot trailer. Hoping to make it home to Florida soon. Times does pass even if slowly. Stay safe.

Bill Fields, he does but they've been trying to get Occy back to Australia. At 1st because he was leaving 1 country to enter into another(vet paperwork), then the Australian fires and now this.. It wasn't long ago Lee put a post on Instagram saying they weren't even sure they would ever be able to get Occy back to Australia. But in this video you can see how crazy happy he was to see Lee...
I don’t know how everyone held it together, I would have been a mess! The feeling when your boots touched Canadian soil must have been unimaginable 🇨🇦❤️
This is the second "van couple" who have waited til the very last minute to leave and return home. The other is Allie & ? I can't believe these Canadians are complaining that the government isn't sending a "rescue plane" for them. There were planes leaving for weeks, but I guess the virus was just something other people had to worry about. Sorry to be critical. I'm a physician and it bothers me to see people taking unnecessary risks that now put others in danger. They're returning to Canada where they say they know no one - presumably someone will offer to put them up, which puts that generous soul at risk. And so it goes.
I completely agree! This shouldn't even be legally allowed! international flights should have been grounded and punishable by prison a month ago. They're unbelievable selfishness of wanting to come home and contaminate everybody along the way is so outrageous!
@@Pimp-Master A baby is just as dangerous as anybody else in this situation... Frankly they're more of one. This global pandemic doesn't have the patience for people in their twenties to still be attempting to grow up. I know 13 year olds that are more mature and would make and are making more conscious decisions than these cowards. Finally, don't tell me what to do...🤦♂️🙄
@@Pimp-Master I'm not sure how old *you* are, but the belief that 20 year-olds are "not even grown yet," is indescribably sad. While war of any kind is always regrettable, both World Wars (and many other wars; indeed, wars generally) were (and are) fought primarily by such "babies." Additionally, I've often been struck, in working with young 20-something medical residents from the Middle East (eg. Saudi, Egypt, Iran), with how mature they are, as compared with North American residents of the same age. The have a certain gravitas and professionalism that's lacking in our own young physicians, who - if they develop those qualities at all - do so much later on.
I couldn’t even imagine all the details, thoughts and emotions that you have worked through in the past week. Glad you are on home soil, even if it’s not fully home without Trinity. Stay safe.
Was checking every few minutes to see if this was up. I knew you were home because I saw you on CBC Eamon. You made the right decision. Just finished 2 weeks in quarentine after coming home from Mexico on March 12 to Alberta where we stayed at the Blue Bay Esmeralda because of your trip there with your family. Found out about the lagoon from you guys. Thanks so much. Your journey is just on pause right now. Lots of love.
Hey guys how crazy watching this now that you’re back to trinity. I was just thinking that one really big amazing good thing that came from this whole situation was being able to spend that extra time quarantining with Lee!!! I love you guys she is there with you now. Safe travels ! Always
Hello, I literally watched EVERY vlog of yours in Morocco! I am so glad that you got to know about my country's people and culture. I am happy to think that you may head down to Morocco again so to retrieve your lovely van from the parking lot. I just want to tell you if you came back and wanted to continue your trip, I'd be more than happy to welcome you at the capital city, Rabat, where I live and show you its different sightseeings. I hope you're enjoying your time as best as you can in this quarantine, and I can't wait to see you again in Morocco! Stay safe! (P.S: you're a lovely couple! )
I knew I recognized Larry in the last shot! And turns out he was your saviour! So happy you guys are safe and how amazing are Lee's mom and dad for setting up such a safe and well stocked place for you to be in! No doubt all the good kharma you send out came right back to you!
It’s so unbelievably interesting - so many people want to do the nomad life but in times like this knowing that you have ‘a home’ and a country that has your back assisting you to get home probably has a whole new meaning that few really appreciated before the Coronavirus. Glad you are home safe!
If your Van is your home, you its not different, i don't see why everybody is running "home". Per coincidence i am near my birthplace, but honestly i would prefer to stay in the mountens in my van.
Bug Features I did not mean ‘home’ as a physical building but ‘home’ as in the place where you have equal rights to food and healthcare. The question is where do you want to get sick (and possibly end up in hospital) and where do you want to possibly run out of food? In another country where you have little to no support or in you ‘home’ country that has a responsibility to assist you? Also, it’s one thing to get sick in for example London if you are not from there and it is a whole other thing to get sick in Africa if you are not from there - I say this as a South African...the healthcare systems in most African countries where struggling before the Coronavirus, I don’t want to know what the pandemic is going to do to them
@@sanell6 There are enough countries who does not help their own citizens. For them it is not important to be home. I am from germany, here the system takes care of the _most_ people. But it has holes, some i know way to well. So i've learned to rely on only myself as much as possible. I would prefer to be in Spain somewhere in the Mountains, there i have enough sun for my solar and its warm enough that i do not have to heat my van. And with a mountain river i have fresh water. With that and my stored Food, i can stay there for months without meeting anyone. Germany on the other hand as flat, dense, cloudy and cold - very bad for me.
What I love compared to other van lifers I've seen is you guys were grateful and thankful..and others came off entitled and complained for 20 mintues... cheers
I'm glad you 3 are still together, couldn't imagine watching without Lee being there 😭You definitely made the right decision leaving Morocco, I'm sure you'll have a great quarantine, knowing you're safe at home. Bless!

Pets function as "mechanical carriers", i.e. like surfaces where the virus can survive on and infect your relatives' house and potentially themselves. So don't let the dog go back and forth between you and Lee's family, and since you can't walk him out, better not to have him over at all. Since you already pet him, I would advise bathing him, washing his blankets etc and vacuuming & mopping the house as well (steaming or dry cleaning carpets etc also highly advisable). Your relatives should wash their clothes and bedding/chairs if they touched/hugged the dog after that scene
That is not true. Check out the WHO's website for some good myth busters and FAQs! According to the WHO, "there is no evidence that a dog, cat or any pet can transmit COVID-19".
@@brynleyspendlove3580 By "transmit" they mean the dog can't get sick and then make people sick. Dogs can be a mechanical carrier, you cough on your hand, you pet the dog, then someone else pets the dog in the same spot and then rubs their eyes...mechanical carrier.
So gutted that vanlife Morocco is on pause but your positivity about the whole situation is heartwarming and really reminds me that trusting your gut and having gratitude are so important right now. Hope we see keep seeing more of lee over your quarantine time and beyond. Love you guys!!!

It’s not voluntary to self isolate/ quarantine upon returning to Canada from an international flight. It is MANDATORY to do so if you arrived after March 12.

Literally what I thought. When the dog ran up the stairs to that older woman (one of their moms, grandma?) my heart stopped and sunk, very dangerous and shouldn’t have touched the dog...
@@sarahcoletti6946 they can't catch it but they can transport it, just like a door handle, a parcel, anything....only saying as it's important people realise this.
They did it twice. Once at the airport too. Since all this has started I have been a little paranoid about people petting my dog because of that reason (My mom is someone who is considered to be "at-risk" and we live together). No, they can't get it and then spread it but just like any surface, their fur will spread the disease.

This was my first ever Eamon and Bec video. Now I have spent all of COVID-19 with you guys. So thankful for UA-cam’s algorithm.
Mine too!
Me too😂😂😂
Eamon and Bec, my deep condolences....I always admired your friendship with each other and Lee.
It must have been so difficult to leave your van and your dream life in Africa, but I think you made the right call.

What happened to your van . . . had you purchased it yet ?
Its so strange to watch this, almost 11 months later, and hear all this talk but not see any masks... strange how that's become a regular part of my life now
Incredible footage guys, one day we'll look back at this madness and wonder why 2020 was so crazy.
@xhighrollerx123 It is? How so?
@xhighrollerx123 Nope isn't.
I shed tears when you were swaying together in the van. I hope everything works out and I'm so glad you're home & safe.
this is so crazy watching in 2021, the stress we all felt was reaaaalll when this hit
Stay safe
That's debatable. 🤷♂️ Not 'åll' of us, 😁 .
Ezmeralda Du Dortoka True that!
So glad you're home🇨🇦 all your parents must be so relieved! I'm a mom and grandma, I would be ecstatic ❤
Yes, everyone is super relieved and happy!! Hard to be so close without being able to hug everyone we love but this too shall pass ❤️
I love the setup that the parents made for you all.

I have watched too many van lifers this week “going home”. Amazing how important that passport is at times. ❤️💕
Also it points out how gutless most people really are when shit gets real. All this van travel stuff was fantasy...ah, but going back "home" is also fantasy as they'll soon see.
powergirl901 that’s a bit harsh. I think most of them realize how lucky they are to be able to travel.
important only for selfishly contaminating the entire continent because they were too lazy to get on a flight 2 months ago!
They're not even grown yet, ease up on them. They're just babies! Awwww....
@@Pimp-Master A baby is just as dangerous as anybody else in this situation... Frankly they're more of one. @@ezmeraldadudortoka7549 You have an interesting point of view. Thanks.
@@Pimp-Master I'm not sure how old *you* are, but the belief that 20 year-olds are "not even grown yet," is indescribably sad. While war of any kind is always regrettable, both World Wars (and many other wars; indeed, wars generally) were (and are) fought primarily by such "babies."
Additionally, I've often been struck, in working with young 20-something medical residents from the Middle East (eg. Saudi, Egypt, Iran), with how mature they are, as compared with North American residents of the same age. The have a certain gravitas and professionalism that's lacking in our own young physicians, who - if they develop those qualities at all - do so much later on.

@@brynleyspendlove3580 omg i don't blame anyone ppl got obsessed with everything related to this virus 😕
@@brynleyspendlove3580 By "transmit" they mean the dog can't get sick and then make people sick. Dogs can be a mechanical carrier, you cough on your hand, you pet the dog, then someone else pets the dog in the same spot and then rubs their eyes...mechanical carrier.
