After a long 4 months of this VAN LIFE BUILD project we finally have enough electricity, water and other essentials in place to put our new tiny home on wheels to the off-grid test. We head 3 hours north of Toronto to explore some of Canada's most stunning wilderness. But, of course, van life has it's highs and lows, and relearning how to find stealth camping spots presents us with our first van challenge. Sorry again to the kind gentleman who we accidentally trespassed on his property 😅. We then realize our electrical system really isn't complete without our solar panels and we're limited on how long we can camp out off-grid. No one say van life is easy but nothing good comes easy... amiright?

How Did We Get Here?
Abandoning our Van in Africa bit.ly/2Kff0HT
After an incredible 3 years of living, working, and traveling in our self converted Sprinter Van we made the very tough decision to abandon it in Africa to take a rescue flight back to Canada. As it has for all of us this global pandemic has flipped our world upside down. When our Prime Minister announced that he was sending repatriation flights over to Africa to pick up Canadians who were stuck (due to border closures) we consulted with friends and family closest to us and realized that in this time of crisis we should be back in our home country. Halting our dream of driving around the world was a hard pill to swallow which is why we knew we needed a big project to keep our mind + body busy while social distancing back here in Toronto. Enter building an off-grid tiny house on wheels!! This is going to be our 3rd time converting an empty cargo van into a campervan and we are both excited and nervous to take on this project. We want this build to be the ULTIMATE OFF-GRID VAN 🚐
Tour the renovations we've done to our self converted sprinter van:

Eamon's self control is legendary as he says "That guy was nice" with a smile. Your packing up of the chairs said otherwise. Lol.
Right😂 lol
Lol yea that guy didn’t seem very Canadian
He wasn’t very nice:( But that positivity was goals 👍🏼
People who own Muskoka property don't tend to be the kindest Canadians, LOL.
i mean, they were on private “crown land” lmao
"One extra large coffee, please"
this cut is gold
Akkaren hahah glad you got a chuckle out of it 😂
Eamon & Bec please can you do a van tour?!
Akkaren yessss. Totally cracked me up.
That was so funny! I love their cuts
My heart started racing when that guy started yelling at y’all about being on private property plus he had a big dog which looked like a bear in the distance.
Sorry to get you all worked up on a Sunday afternoon! He was nice enough and of course we were super apologetic!
Great to see you are having fun even on a trial run when things go wrong. I hope that you address the issue of chopping wood and fires, there are a ton of comments, probably because there are so many environmental issues to consider. Best wishes
Eamon and Bec. I just wanted to let you know what a difference your making. I’m a 19 year old full time college student working 50+ hours a week between my 2 jobs and living independently. Sometimes it’s overwhelming. Especially on Sunday’s because I work doubles. But you have no idea how excited I get when I go on break at my first job and see that you’ve uploaded another video. I spend my 30 minute break watching every second. Your positivity and lifestyle inspire and motivate me. I look forward to every upload. Thankyou for everything you do!!
Hi Julianna! Thank you so much for spending your breaks with us 🤗. All of your hard work and dedication will pay off! I (Bec) was once in your shoes working multiple jobs throughout my university days. You will graduate with so much more than a degree 💜. We are proud of you!
Eamon & Bec Thankyou so much. That means so much to me ❤️
I read this and now I'm crying. What a beautiful interaction. In these times (especially in the US) we could use a lot more of this. Thanks to all three of you for making my day. Go Julianna, you got this, girl!❤️
@Jullianna Roman - check out Curt and Snow. They did it and are our age and they have an amazing van conversion!
You got this, Julianna!
Who else looks forward to Sundays because of videos like these? ❤️🙌
Awe thanks Marissa!
Every Sunday morning is a good morning!! Love their videos!!
Yep, coffee with Eamon and Bec Sunday mornings. (Chiwalachi tea in the evenings)
Sunday's are the best...
Totally!
“That camera angle is like “”What’s up girl”” I started dying laughing and crying cause I’m so single
Please do not chop wood in this way, cut only dry trees or you can prepare pieces of wood in advance💞
He literally says in the video that they are all dead...

Literally laughed out loud when you cut from trying to boil water over campfire to drive-thru ordering Timmies coffee. We have allllll been there camping!!!
HAHA it was just like... do we wait all day for coffee or drive twenty minutes and get it instantly 😂

Haha well it's the truth! We're all in this together 💜
I love watching your channel, but I do want to leave a disclaimer: PLEASE be SO careful playing this game. I lost a co-worker almost exactly a year ago due to a marshmallow getting lodged in her airway and expanding while playing this game. She was 42 years old. She lost too much oxygen to her brain and was on life support for a week and tragically passed away. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. It was a horrific tragic accident 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'm so sorry, that is truly devastating. I've never thought of something like that happening so thank you for spreading awareness.
A kid died at school, too, from playing chubby bunny. Not a safe game.
It would be cool to see such an adventure with you, Bob and his dogs. Everyone loves Bob !!!
‘I think i have to go home’ ‘You are home’ 🤣
HAHAHA 😂
Is it even Sunday if you don’t watch Eamon and Bec?
Haha no it definitely is not 😆
Sadhbh Leahy NO!

@@eamonandbec indeed! See you Sunday!
You guys absolutely melt my heart! Love seeing the dynamic and depth of your love and appreciation for each other! No matter what your beautiful souls shine through! Keep living your dreams. What an inspiration to so many
Love these videos. Y'all and Bob are "Some" kind of people. Whole"Some" and Awe"Some" people! Found the channel somewhat recently, I think it was shortly after leaving Trinity and at the time I had no idea you guys were talking about a vehicle. I thought it was this magical sweet place/city that y'all used to live in haha. Anyway, don't stop making these videos please, just good clean living fun to watch content. Great edits too!
Hey guys, love your videos! Just wanted to say please don’t chop down live trees for fires unless it’s an emergency. I’m not one to poo poo or critic others experience but our public lands are super important and we need to all take care of them. Many public lands here in the US have been trashed and vandalized by people during COVID. We need to all promote ethical outdoor behavior so others can follow suit. I know it’s just one tree but the these public areas have had an influx of people and if everyone did it we would have less beautiful places to enjoy. Again I’m not trying to be negative I’m just very protective of being environmentally conscious. Enjoy your travels and love to you both from Wisconsin ❤️
I was thinking the same thing but it looked like the trees he cut down were dead or he just took a branch not the whole tree.
Go to the 16:41 mark of the video and look directly behind Eamon. I think he was just slicing pieces off a stump.
he was...it was a stump
The important part is dead wood is sooo important in healthy woods because that's were the natural habits of a bunch of insects is and they prefer this living habitat and can't live anywhere else🕷️🦗🐜❤️
It’s also important to thin our forests. It’s part of conservation and sustainable growth.
Confession: I’ve binged your entire series these past couple of weeks. I’m living vicariously through the two of you as I grow more agoraphobic in these times. So fun. Lots of smiles. So genuine. Gratitude.
Ahh we also binged these guys when we first discovered them to! You’ve found an epic channel! If you’re looking for more vanbuild videos we are converting a bus and documenting on UA-cam and would love to hear what you think? X
You both make me so happy. Every week I look forward to Sunday’s to be able to watch videos like these. You both make me want to be so much more positive in life. Thank you for making me laugh every Sunday!

I love the “casual vlog” style of this video. I love the other styles too but enjoyed hearing you laugh and enjoy each other’s company! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
What happened to bec saying “WERE EAMON AND BEC...” in the intro haha
Eamon told me it was time to switch it up 😂 . We'll see how this goes hahah
We miss it

I know that this isn't your first, but I am truly impressed at the quality of work you put into your van build. Woodworking, electrical, pex plumbing, and design are all really well done, thought out, and just good stuff. That's not easy stuff. You should be proud.
We absolutely love Bob, he is such a blessing to you guys.
Loved your campsite, just beautiful. But when you started cutting tree's I thought what the heck are you doing.
Honestly, I think I would have been disappointed if Eamon hadn't come back with something cartoonishly large and incomparably dope when sent to fetch a floaty.
P.S. Shout out right back to ya, Bob. You are a legend.
Haha well this comment just goes to show how well you know Eamon 😆!
I really hope if / when you travel across Canada, you keep most locations and communities anonymous so as to preserve their special, small-scale vibes. Please consider.
Can I just say what an awesome job you do with filming, content, editing and production. As a newbie trying to create a bit of content for our fledgling site, it takes FOREVER, and that’s documenting a 2 hour thing not a whole week of activity. Much respect to your professionalism.
These videos are a bright spot in the craziness of the world right now. 🙌🏻💚
Awe thanks Erin! Much appreciated!
Bec reminds me of Lorelai Gilmore, a vegan Canadian Lorelai.

Lily pads are the best thing you’ll ever purchase! They are big but they are durable and so fun!
Hi Eamon and Bec! My boyfriend David and I love your guys’ content - we’re avid campers & adventurers of Ontario’s nature as well, also from Toronto. Along with everyone else in these comments, I’m super concerned about how you removed wood from the forest for fuel. Regardless of whether you have a fuelwood permit, it’s extremely harmful to ecosystems to remove any kind of wood from forests. Dead wood, or living saplings. Many small and vital critters and plants make dead wood their homes, and removing it can seriously disturb the eco system. Please consider preparing and bringing firewood or purchasing it along the drive - so many small farms in ontario sell it for cheap!!! At the very least, please don’t include this in future videos. It is not good practice and you have to recognize you two have an influential platform here. Please be considerate of our amazing Canadian backyard 🤍
A small handful of deadfall is NOT going to adversely affect the ECOSYSTEM beyond repair,.You Treehug-trender. Mankind since ANCIENT times has collected wood from the forest.GET OVER YOURSELF.
Furthermore as a vanlife/nomad myself. I KNow that some provinces take issue with bringing wood from other provinces in, especially considering INVASIVE species.
Have you also considered the damage you can do to the ecosystem if you bring in wood that harbors pests or contaminants? Wood purchased elsewhere needs to be properly treated to kill everything, especially fungus and diseases.
thank you so much for this comment, i didn't know this and i'm so glad i do now!
@@alkirk5748 Hi!! I understand that collecting wood from forests on a small scale is not going to detrimentally affect an ecosystem :-) moreso just trying to share my thoughts and encourage consideration to nature. Sorry my comment bugged you! Was not trying to hate on Eamon and Bec, and tried to be kind in my delivery. I also was not encouraging brining in wood from far away - I said local :)

So thankful for Sweden. The notion of private property doesn't exist here, except if its like someones backyard. Nature belongs to everyone and you can camp anywhere

I'm not sure you're supposed to chop down trees for fire wood...
marlynka we are not allowed in Australia. Massive fines and banned from all parks

Why Are you chopping green trees? Or even the dead standing tree? You are the people, outdoor people have a problem with. Only use fallen wood. Leave No Trace #LNT
Jordan Hendrickson spot on, they lost karma points on this one.

Dead wood is vital for a plethora of fauna and flora to survive. Studies into multiple ecosystems collapsing have been related to sanitising forests and woodlands from deadwood.

Fallen wood is important to the forests too. Just buy a bundle b4 u go out.
@@obsidiangraves5961 Says someone who clearly has never been evacuated due to a forest fire. I assure you forest fires do far more destruction then they've done here.
. dont assume anything about me..I'm literally on evac alert right now in penticton b.c. the problem with the forests is that they r spraying them to kill all the trees and plants(that usually keep everything moist enuff not to burn) except the ones they want (tree farms) and then they just burn like matches bc they r all pine trees full of pitch that is used to make turpentine and other flammable goods.not that there is dry twigs and branches on the forest floor. Which are habitates for other needed creatures.

Cutting down a live tree for firewood, and cutting off bark from a live tree- is this stuff legal on Canadian public land? Not in the USA.
Unfortunately when you mix camping & hipsters that's the kind of stuff you get.
idk how it burned, our trees are usually quite wet, even in the summer
K R yes, exactly, they’re setting a terrible example. I have forest service friends who’ve said there’s more destruction of forests by campers this year than they’ve ever seen by far. So many new campers, and not enough education about natural consequences over time. Hope they post an apology and correction soon!
@@KayRay1966 so strongly agree I was shocked, there are so many conservationists struggling to discourage this kind of behavior at the moment. Everyone should enjoy camping but keep it clean, keep on trail.
They used dead trees, which is legal, most of the time. You can get a fuelwood permit to cut down dead+live trees for personal use on crown land. Basically the rules are different in every little jurisdiction/area and you're best bet is to contact the MNR beforehand to make sure you're all good for what you want to do. They most likely are fine, and at worst it was a minor infraction. You can use trees like that on Crown land, it is not "completely illegal".
That floatie is a winner....I love it 😂 great vlog, I loved seeing ontario lakes 😍 and thanks for sugar at the end (Bob) 🤟🏼🤟🏼 we looove our weekly dose of Bob 😁😁
Haha I shouldn’t be surprised that Bob continues to be the star of the show even when he only appears for 30 seconds 😂
It is the best thing we bought for our cottage - kids love it!!
Sometimes I forget that other people take coffee as seriously as I do!! 🙂 Eamon & Bec my kind of people!! 👫⛺️
Haha how are we supposed to start our day if it’s going to take us 3 hours to boil our coffee water 😂
