After an incredible 3 years of living, working, and traveling in our self converted Sprinter Van we made the very tough decision to abandon it in Africa to take a repatriation flight back to Canada (due to the global pandemic). Halting our dream of driving around the world was a hard pill to swallow which is why we knew we needed a big project while social distancing back home in Toronto. Well, that AND we needed a place to call home! Enter building an off-grid tiny house on wheels!! We're so excited to share our beautiful conversion with you in an official van tour!!
Our van is a 2015 Mercedes Sprinter Van with 170,000 KMs on it. 170 wheelbase so we could add a full bathroom (yes, that includes a toilet and indoor shower) and a super unique couch/bed design that gives a very open concept space to the tiny home.

Came back to watch your van built again because we recently traveled in a van we hired and I remembered how much I loved your bathroom and bed solution. Then, right at the start, I remembered who filmed this tour 💔💛 When Lee appeared in the video my heart stopped a little and then I felt great joy because I know her spirit continues to live through you guys. 💛✨

We've loved this build process too! We are building our own van and documenting on youtube too so will miss tuning in on Sundays to see where they are upto and compare notes haha!
Super handy tip for all those pillows, stuff them with clothing for extra storage, especially seasonal clothing u dont use as often
Ah yes we did this in our smaller van Trinity and it saved so much space! To be honest we’ve got heaps of room at the moment so we haven’t even thought about needing to do that BUT it’s also only fall so once winter hits we may be doing something different with those pillows!

In preparation for my own jump into vanlife, I have watched hundreds of van tours and vanbuilds and with hand on my heart, truly, yours is the most beautiful, practical and well thought out!
I've watched you build it out (was/am AMAZED by how much knowledge and skill you both have) and am so impressed by all you've accomplished.
Makes me happy to see your knives pointed downward on the magnetic strip. SO many other vanlifers have the knives pointed upward which is horrible for their chi.
Questions: how much (roughly) did the conversion cost? And who do you work with for insurance? (the company I reached out to said the solar panels "could be a problem". Love you both (and Bob) xo

That bed couch system is GENIUS
We've been planning van/bus designs for years now (busy now building our tiny house on wheels) but we still want a smaller get away vehicle. After watching so MANY videos, I just have to say, your plan/layout is AWESOME! Just love your van/design/layout/color scheme. Great job. And thanks for showing the importance stuff, like the solar, heating system and water...not like here is a draw and we put (then go on to list everything in there). Just love it!

She can use it whenever she wants but hopefully others will visit as well. Adam has been a regular guest and I think he will love not having to sleep on the floor.

I was watching all your most recent van build videos and saw one of your van trip with Lee and her dog at Lions Head Lookout and I commented that I would like to see more of Lee and Kara and Nate in your videos. I searched her Instagram after watching this video and learned of the tragic news about Lee, I had know idea when I made that comment. I am sorry for your loss. Lee seemed so energetic, easy going, and full of life, I guess it is hard to know when someone is battling their own personal demons inside.
