@chimpanzee eagle I was joking a little, but as a Ti dom I just love consuming info and the more complex - the better. Multi-tasking is a breeze.
Te just doesn't do anything for me but complete tasks that I dont even care about. lol

@chimpanzee eagle I don't think I'm very good at. Besides, I usually forget what they are and I just treat them like anyone else. Like, I believe my mother and best friend are ISFJs, but I don't get hung up on it because I'm not going to treat them too different from any other type.

TE is basically principles to structure clarity in the external world
TI is principles to translate clarity in the internal world
    TE wants structure….TI wants interpretation

Where I struggle most is why Ti and Te have to be mutually exclusive across all topics. Meaning: I understand why you can’t (prefer to) approach an issue with both Ti and Te, it makes sense. However I find myself swapping Ti/Ne with Ni/Te depending on the topic. I would absolutely hate internalizing everything about one topic and go for efficiency and absolutely want to dive deep in other topics to build an internal framework. This is why I behave like a total INTJ in some topics (work and recreation) and like the ultimate INTP (also both work and recreation). Maybe this is what INTPs do. I might have to just accept this fact like a true INTJ and move on with life ;)
    Great vid btw!

As Te, I would evaluate the information and quickly simplify the variables and move on with general intention. Probably, Ti would like to connect all the variables and analyse for most efficient option in given situation corresponding to exclusive intention. BTW you have clear teaching ability. I subscribed.

This reminds me of my ESTJ boss,
who is so focused on efficiency and the big picture that she bulldozes through all the necessary or inconsistent details and gets us to simply send the document down (which will then be thrown back to us a few days later due to her mistakes). This “moving forward” thing is so her, Te always wants things fast and done with, it jumps from 1 to 10 forgetting about the steps 2-9 which is only the size of Jupiter. So yeah this is an example of that “sacrificing accuracy for efficiency”.

From what I see it's more or less like this:
Te: I need to become king to escape this poverty.
Ti: I can make a new kingdom that benefits us, the poor. Now what IS a kingdom EXACTLY?
    Te likes "Same but better"
    Ti likes "Make it better"
    Example 2
Te: The copper's cracking, fill the holes with glue covered diamonds.
Ti: Why are we using copper instead of diamond again?

Beautiful word choice for Ti: Integrate. Definitely Ti is about understanding the puzzle and the rules that connect the puzzle together. How the rules can be matched, mixed, and turned many different ways (Especially when combined with Ne) in order to create new rules that define reality at this base logical level.

This was really helpful for assessing whether Ti is an effective tool for decision making. You’ve helped me figure out that opting for the most reliable source of expertise, is probably a better use of time for most things. Perhaps Ti could thrive in innovative sectors, or uncharted territory that require contingency planning at its finest, or general economics - but on a day to day, developing a reliable Te function would probably advance the larger part of society in terms of being productive. “Moving on” to the feeling function now. Thanks!

Yes these distinctions make sense. I still wonder how to differentiate between Ne+Ti, Ni+Ti and Ni+Te. In all cases things about the world are slotted into an internal framework, and run through a logical system, but is it the intuiting that's the internal framework or the logics (or both)?

Cool. My favorite distinction is that the Te user is willing to deal with the consequences of being wrong. As an Ne/Te user, I am especially prone to feeling I can deal with the consequences of anything- by creativity, resourcefulness, willpower, etc. I’m not always able to, of course, but it’s a cognitive preference for sure.
Yet I understand Ti users, as my own Fi needs to do a lot more introspection in order to try my best not to lack integrity

As someone who did puzzles a lot with my dad as a kid, our Ti vs Te process very much connects to what you said. He has Te and his process was frustrating as hell for me because he tried to use his same streamlined process every single time even if it did not make sense for the current puzzle to do so. For me, who uses Ti, my process changed for each puzzle because to me the rules changed with different patterns. And I bet i frustrated him because I wouldn’t do what he expected me to do each time.

I act as Ti on important issues such as deciding a career or stream, like knowing what i wanna do and finding the best way to do it while taking inputs from others checking if i should put it in my initial plan but also after every modification and final draft sharing my result with someone else to see their point of few. But also having a thought process of a Te when dealing with unnecessary topics but still trying to correlate with my life examples. So am i a Ti or Te 😅

Ti is like seeing the world through alien VR goggles, asserting that this is in fact how reality is, sometimes being a genius when you're right and getting surprised when you're wrong. Think Musk, who is commonly mistyped. Te is like an employer using data to devise a way to efficiently channel the kind of employees they need into their ecosystem.

Musk is different, he understands what is theoretically possible and unleashes it onto the world before it is ready.

Love this explanation.. but the thing is, I take things too literally and somehow end up relating to both. For example when you say "internal framework" i relate that to my inner world somehow or my inner beliefs/values, and how I like to research and learn about something but it also has to make sense to me, if it doesn’t I will just eliminate that fact or information no matter if it’s coming from an expert. If I had to choose, I would more likely rely on the source rather than my inner framework, but this is what I mean, for example I would ask someone for advice if I know they are an expert in that "field", rather than relying on my own thoughts as I'm not sure I can trust those, if someone is an expert they are probably going to know more than I do (this is in cases where I don’t have my own strong opinions/beliefs for example like feminism, even if someone is an expert they will not convince me that women are already equal with men cause I just know we aren’t yet and that’s a fact).
That is why I ask different people in my life for different kinds of advices, based on what I think they are good at, cause sometimes I have no inner guidance on what is right or wrong in terms of what clothes fit together or what to say to someone (I would ask my extroverted friend 😅) But in other times I do have inner framework of things I strongly believe in and no one can convince me otherwise even if they were an expert. So what would you say I'm more inclined towards, Te or Ti?

    • @ema-e7u
      @ema-e7u Рік тому

The problem I have with Te is, I'm not someone who is consistently working on my goals everyday. I tend to procrastinate, which is more like Ti and less like Te based on what I've read. It takes me quite a while to gather the strength to take actions towards my goals, or doing chores, I would rather live in my inner world and have my time.

Infj have ti. I would give a short proof for that. Let's take the two functions, introversion and judgement.
The dominant function would be introverted. Also as we are dealing with judgers, the feeling/thinking function would be extraverted. However the dominant function for introvert should be introverted, not extraverted. So intuition is the dominant function for infjs and in this case it is introverted.
The auxiliary function should now be extraverted and a judging one. Here in this case the auxiliary function is extraverted feeling. Now the tertiary function should have the same nature (judging/perceiving) as auxiliary function. However as the function alternate between introversion and extraversion, this function should be introverted. For infjs, the tertiary function is introverted thinking.
The last inferior function is completely opposite to the dominant function. As the dominant function was introverted intuition for infjs, the inferior function would be extroverted sensing.
      Hope it clears

I've tried to understand the difference between te and ti for some time but it often led to more confusion. This video helped a lot! 😊
But I'm still wondering: Does it mean that people using Ti tend to be more skeptical in general?
Personally, I tend to question ideas, logic, information and concepts a lot to make sure that I truly understand what it's really about. In order to approve of this logic/information or concept, I am automatically trying to connect it with information and concepts that already exist in my head and that I've already approved of, knowing that it is correct.
Usually, I am more sceptical if I can't see that connection because I have to rely on information without having the possibility to compare it.
The more I learn about a topic the more connections I make. So if there's a flaw I am going to notice really fast. However, if a logical concept doesn't make sense to me anymore, I'd rather try to find the flaw and improve it instead of starting new over and finding a new concept to replace it with.
I think that I'm using Ti but maybe I am just extremely skeptical.🤔

Introverted Thinking is about accuracies according to the subjective logic within oneself. It doesn't take information at face value. It constantly seeks out new info to confirm what is indeed truth . It's a lengthy process but, it truly seeks to understand.
Extroverted Thinking seems to be more about general fact-finding and applying those facts efficiently. As a Ti dom (INTP) I would research a facts origins and verify it's very reason for existing and if the fact will remain a fact under intense scrutiny. Whereas I believe a Te user will accept the facts that are most widely accepted, analyzed and verifiable and utilize the one(s) they find the most efficient.

The theistic Ti user will claim to know how to prove absolutely the existance of his god by reason alone; the non-theistic Ti user that nothing can be known at all except to say it cannot be, so he is an agnostic and not so arrogant! Why waste [Te] logic when you cannot see it to its pristine and perfect ends?
The theistic Te user will amass an array of sources to establish his god as evidenced well enough; the non-theistic Te user the systems of method and classification, so he is an agnostic atheist, a simple fact he is not naive to! Why waste [Ti] logic when there is still more ground to cover, factors to contend with?
Ti is more contrarian. At its roots a black and white logical binary. As narrow-minded and thus blinded to the sides as it is deeper and more precise.
Te is more skeptical. At its roots a gray logical stage or degree. As shallow-minded and thus blinded beneath as it is broader and more accurate.
Both fall for its own presentation from both within and from others, but also create new ideas the same.

Ni is also about backtracking, but more interested in seeing images than judging them in a logical/emotional manner, so its more simbolistic in nature.
Ti is useful for thinking fast about the operations from a backtracking exercise and if you also use Ni/Ne, then you can come up with a formula or even the answer, rather than breaking down all the steps in order to be sure of the entire construction, so to speak.
Because of being stuck in a loop of judging things, some people may be not be aware of the big picture of concepts that are fluid and combined to each other.
Ti is indeed more logical than Te, because of it's organic nature of understanding things, Te is indeed more practical than Ti, because of its go-get-it nature of researching from various resources
-and its so cool for having people share they're ideas here on yb!
