According to cognitive function tests, I am adept at using both. Ne allows me to see everything, but I may discount some definitions. Ni will take several images or items and funnel them into one highly-defined image or state that can be used for quick reference. It sums up whatever my Ti and Ne have gathered in one package. - INTP
There is this site that gave me 3 results, and I've looking for a good mbti test for ages and I'm still not sure if the last site i used was great as I thought. It gave me 1 INTJ 2 INTP and 3 ENTJ. But im still not sure about my functions
I love the way you explain things ma'am. I'm definitely more intuitive than sensing, cause it's mostly about concepts for me. But I'm still a little bit confused whether I have a stronger Ne or Ni. Earlier, I had this suspicion that I had ADHD since I had a hard time concentrating on one particular topic (I wasn't hyperkinetic though), but now I think it's because I have Ne>Ni. But I can at times get very laser focussed & narrow & deep, if I'm genuinely interested in sharpening my concepts. Like, I started exploring typology two days ago and ever since then, I've been very focussed about making sense of it. I'm almost halfway but I'm still doubtful if I have higher Ne or Ni..
Balance is highly important, btw, this video was the most informative on Ne vs Ni that I've watched, thank you, you really made me understand the difference well
Here is the summary:- 1. Ni and Ne are concerned with theorical ideas more than the practical and concrete reality. 2. Ni users are interested in bringing ideas together while Ne users are interested in pulling ideas in various directions. 3. Ne users are interested in seeing their ideas grow while Ni users are more goal oriented. 4. Ne likes chaos in ideas while Ni users likes clarity in direction. 5. Ne-Si prefers stability in concrete while Ni-Se prefers stability in the abstract world.
@@licbeshs5625 i personally think that Ni likes to stabilize ideas and Ne likes chaos in ideas, and Si likes to stabilize the concrete relying on "how the present should be" while Se likes to experience chaos in the real concrete world
Agree with the last part too and ive seen it articulated this way: Ne/Si likes organized environment so they can explore ideas and experiences for the inspiration of ideas. Ni/Se likes organized mind so they can play in the sensory world. Simple but covers most of it nicely. This is my theory on why Si users don't have this impending constant desire to travel super often or go on rollercoasters to feel alive. Most I know make their fun in their direct community. Se users tend to constantly need new experiences and to push physical boundaries (high Se) to try at least everything once. It fascinates me as an Si user because sometimes Idk how they find joy in basic experiences. Si-Methodical/tactful Se- what plan? Just grab a hammer
Intuition is a perceiving function that sees an information as how it forms a bigger picture. In terms of it being extroverted or introverted, it goes down to how you act on the information based on what it can be (Pe) or how you react on the information based on what you interpret a situation can become. (Pi) For Ni it is your own interpretation (reaction) on how the information fits your idea of the bigger picture. What you assume what situation can happen based on what the situation meant and how it can potentially create the next situation. For Ne it is the concept or ideas that are instilled in the information on what an idea can emerge externally. What an idea can do to form a bigger perspective of external information. For that to be known, an (act) of engaging through these ideas by creating, combining or trying is key to see the bigger picture.
Ni is Square root whereas Ne is exponents? One reduces to to its simplest form or (to convolute further) the least common denominator whilst the other tries to expand from the simplest element into the farthest stretch?
Let's say I love focusing on a few topics (like psychology, mbti/enneagram), I will research them in immense depth trying to puzzle together what it all means for me, but I do so by trying to use every possible perspective on the matter and by trying to consider all option around me. Is that Ni then ? Or is that Ne
Depends on the goal of that. If you are more likely to want to narrow things down to a coherent unified, theory, then it's more likely you are using Ni. If you are constantly aiming to "open up" existing conclusions, then it's more likely you use Ne.
I get more confused between Ni And Ne I have few interest..I like mbti astrology and I stick to it for long very time.. But when it comes typing myself(intp, intj, infj, infp) I get confused because of seeing many possiblities.. I stick to mbti since 1 year and I can't able to find my type... And also I'm indecisive in nature.. (Sry for my bad english)
I loved your concluding idea. I sense the truth in it but would feel a little more secure in some concrete credentials. As an INFJ, I have never been able to relate to my extroverted sister, and this has caused us to be at a complete loss with each other during some of the most crucial moments of our lives. I would like to draw nearer to her in the our later decades. Thank you.
I'm an INFJ and my wife is an ENFJ. Both of us are at a point where we are learning a lot about ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses and our needs. We have some issues communicating, like she always reads way deeper into something I say, when I did not mean anything other than exactly what I said. She gets aggravated that I don't live with my emotions on my sleeve, like as in she doesn't see my emotions enough as if I'm a robot, whereas all of her emotions are put out into the universe. I'm not sure how to overcome these things which seem simple but are very big issues of contention for us. Are there any tips for INFJ+ENFJ harmony?
A thing to maybe look into is whether either of you are in a loop. If either of y'all are in a loop you'll need to work to break out of it. ENFJ's and INFJ's use the same form of intuition, just in a different quantity.
NI for me I take in all the information and distill it down and come up with the answer, this has gotten me in trouble in the past because I have bot notes ore trail, just come up with the answer.
According to the 8 cognitive function model introduced by J. Beebe, the functions exist as archetypes/attitudes in our psyche. So one has both Ni and Ne but depending on the type, you'll have a specific "representation" of that function in yourself. ENTP has Ne as a heroic function and Ni as an opposing function. ESFJ has Ne as a child function and Ni as a trickster function and so on. So rather than looking at it from the perspective of "levels", we can look at it from the perspective of archetype/role in the psyche. The function that is part of our ego (so first four functions) is the one we are more familiar with and have more conscious contact with.
As an infp i must admit that i am a little selfish. I have Ne in my function stack and yet i dont get along with Ni users at all. I would think that being an Ne user i would be less selfish but no. I love to get Ni information and tear it up. Only because i find Ni users too intrusive so when i see the Ni user get frustrated, i get entertained. I never got along with Ni users even though my Ne supposedly seeks connections with Ni. No, not in my rule book. I also dont get along with other Ne users because it is just plain tiring. Its fun being around Ne people but they just drain me as quick as a drag race car sucks up fuel
What are your thoughts on Ne vs Ni?

Ne = wonder, Ni = ponder

Ne vs Ni can be confusing..this is a good explanation
Glad to know it helped!

Ni is Square root whereas Ne is exponents?
One reduces to to its simplest form or (to convolute further) the least common denominator whilst the other tries to expand from the simplest element into the farthest stretch?
And my example here is basically a function of Ni building its midline?
Let's say I love focusing on a few topics (like psychology, mbti/enneagram), I will research them in immense depth trying to puzzle together what it all means for me, but I do so by trying to use every possible perspective on the matter and by trying to consider all option around me. Beautifully put!
This explanation really helped me typing myself :) Thanks a lot!
happy to know that!
Love your explanation! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Glad to know!
Great simple explanation, thank you dear
I saw INFJ & I knew I could trust your take on intuition 🤣

I need to dive in more on the differenxe. I am still so confused heheh
You have beautiful eyes
Amazing explanation
Best explanation of this, so glad I found this one 💙-infp
This was very useful, thank you!
I have both. INFP here 😊

Very accurate, as a Ni dom I always fight with my Ne dom brother he is so chaotic :D
i am Ne user but i want to be Ni user i am exhausted by chaos.
INFP here
I see where this leeds us into this perfect couple with INFJs - We Masterminds together in Ne/Ni, but screwed in real world Shit: Si/Se :D
My brain couldnt process a thing for me to understand... coz it just got hanged looking at your body language during your explanation..
What is your mbti tipe?
Can one's Ni and Ne levels be equal ?

Ni ( because INFJ )
