Hey guys! Working on some more cool stuff but in the mean time, here's a one minute re-imagining of the ocean tutorial. It's a little crazy! Enjoy!
Dylan Neill This is such an awesome Blender tutorial right here man I love it.😃👍
i need use large ocean to doing like 2012 Tsunami breaking a huge area of buildings
how the step is?
Love the speedy and lazy tutorial and subscribed for more great tuts.
Lazy tutorial became trendy. Good video man
i like fast tutors :D informative and not boring ;)
It's a great trend. So fast
Christoffer Lund it’s great for the that awkward period of tool knowledge vs practical application phase.
not lazy but time efficient
YES, i wish everyone jumped on the Ian train. Lots of good content. Thanks!!!
love both of the versions .... fast one recall, detailed one to learn .... Thank you .
I think this helped me decide that 5-minute tutorials are just the right size! I totally appreciate the long version AND the one minute version since they both scratch different itches. (I guess I'm just one of those blender guys who likes a little background without all the noob, baby steps.) Thanks a lot for this!
I sat through the 40 minute version but love this as a refresher - Very worthwhile!
This comment applies to all of your videos ,
Good job on covering the settings and modifiers that nobody in the world uses except you and the developers who use them for their open films projects.
Its pretty much gold.
Love watching this after the fully blown one to not miss any steps and have a quick overview whenever i have to come back to it.
If anyone is unable to select subdivide, you have to be in Edit Mode. Also, for the shader, use the shader tab.
I love the full tutorial + lazy tutorial thing Ian has helped bring about. Main tutorial for really understanding, quick tutorial for recalling or experts. Great video!
This is actually amazing!
Merry Christmas and Happy holidays. thanks for being there for us.
I already work on it with the longer version! But this is awesome!! Love your work!
now THIS is a productive tutorial. Big thanks.
Big up for that! VERY handy with a short version. Thank you! :)
wow, end result looks good
Oooh, love it. I'm realizing that as I progress with Blender, I can follow along a lot more easily. Previously, I really needed the long version, now I can follow along rather well here. :)
Thanks for all the hardwork you put into creating the tutorials and editing them! All the best for 2020.
Thank you. Excelent tutorial to help with quarentine... Please keep makin videos like this
Fast style tutes are great for quick overview of what's involved and for a bit of introspection on personal efficiency. Even better if backed up by longer style videos. The first Dylan Neill video I watched was the 3D Photo Effect one, which at ~30min was twice as long as I usually have patience for but the solid practical tips kept me watching. I'd love to hear how you would tackle **large** areas of grass. I have my own simple mix of grass shades that's passable at a distance and particle systems for close-up's. Still experimenting with ways to blend the two and end up with something that doesn't kill performance.
thank you for the tutorial !! Subscribed
I'm not sure if I have ADHD or I'm just allergic to BS, but I love the format of this tutorial.
This is awesome! Thanks you so much.
"wow looks terrible" HAHAH made me cackle
I love both versions. For me fast versions help, if I can download them. And the watch them while pausing - building in Blender - continuing ... For me a fast video is valuable only if all the information is in it. Or if there is the long version in addition to look up something.
I am still overwhelmed by your great idea, how to make a big ocean. As this was something i was struggeling with. Great!
Cool ocean
SICK ! Nice and thanks :)
aaaayeeeeeaaaaahhh!!!!! Thx, Bro! Amazing!
WHHHAAAAAAAAAAT?! ))) COOL) I'm going to see full version! Thanks!
This is a little bit too fast. But only by a smidge. Glad you also have the longer version too :D
Am get onto it right away!!!
thanks you man!
You're the legend
Awesome.. 💕
Well, this is a hell of a lot better!! 😃🤘🏾👍🏾
Really Impressing
perfect video! ho yeaahhh
You rock!
lol, thank you!
Legend
Hi Dylan, great tutorial; thanks for sharing. What is the best approach in adding foam in the large ocean?
Needed this, the large ocean I tried to generate just using the modifier made my render soo much slower.
At least you show the render in full after. I can stand it when someone has a tut then they end the video showing nothing. lol.
I really like this new fast tutorial trend overall, but it can easily go a bit overboard. This already a very good video would've been a fantastic one had you taken just a bit more time to say things in a bit more relaxed manner :) And maybe added a couple sentences explaining a few more things (e.g. why do you have to swap the color channels in the material etc). I'd say this would've been perfect as a 2 minute video! But I know it's just a personal preference.. Thanks for the great video!
he has a longer video in his channel explaining every thing...
@@bopevfx we know, it still wouldn't hurt to make it a tad slower. 2-5 minutes is still significantly shorter than 40mins
Ian is a trendsetter
is there a way to make the ocean loop? I want the realistic look but i don't want the flying part, i just want the camera to stand in one place looking forward
Hey is there a way to sustain that fast camera movement in the beginning to simulate flying without having the camera traversing the entire plane because eventually you’ll run out of the ocean plan really fast.
Great tutorial! How long are you finding a shot like that at the end takes to come out?
Nice, I'm still working thru the original one. Is it normal when you render out a single image for it to look a bit blocky/low-res? I'm guessing that doesn't show up in an animation.
How about a tutorial on how to create a large scale Moon surface
Sets render resolution (only resolution to change) to 40 for the ocean modifier, watches my ram reach 33GB usage at 96% ram utilization
What about the foam tute coming soom?
All hail Ian
The big ocean disc is not showing in the final render. Help!
Where can i find whatter shaders?
УУУУ!! Cool !!)) thank yuo )
Woah woah, wait wait,
There's an Ocean Modifier?
Fast tutorial are trending now, huh
Bro pls help,i have to make a project on jetski animation,i have completed the jetski and ocean animation but not able to make the thick wake behind the jetski of water splashes.pls make a tutorial and also give me tips so that i can make this
how to sail a boat on this ocean?
make a video on that. please
NICE ! now environment :) ?
Is this possible on low end pc?
very Ian Hubert
please, create this same tutorial but slower for me to follow the steps to the letter, why was Velia gone that was explained I didn't understand anything
All I see are tutorials.. I just want to see a blender product of ocean that I can enjoy! Do you have a finished product?
I hope you explain with slowly
plz give me template
Wait are you mixing shaders only or do you have multiple planes?
mixing the shaders
the ocean modifier or any other kind of water I can not get it to work no matter what I do
awesome, but one question, what if I wanted the ocean to be red? Like in evangelion? One way I thought is to change the environment to RGB red then it makes the ocean red, and put a background image as plane for the sky..
You could probably color correct the HDRI he included with the more detailed version of the tutorial if you want the atmo to be red as well. If you just want the ocean I imagine you'd be better off adding some coloration to the water shader directly.
Define 'soon'.
thats fast af
Bake doesn't work for some reason
What is the name of the music used in this video? Anyone knows please comment..
Make tutorial about realistic muscle system in blender 2.81( sorry for english) I'm from ukraine and your video realy cool
songgg NAMEEEEEEE ???? PLEASEEEEE
i wanted to write about slow version but many people like fast mode :|
I messed up at 0:05
Hi Mr. Dylan. Ily. Bye.
00:45 Me to my rendering output almost everyday. :/
0:11 what just happened? where is the water shadow button? Im confused....
Water shader is just a Principled Shader with Black Base Color, 0 Roughness, 0.5 Specular and 1.33 IOR.
@@nadimkazi87 thanks a lot!
be slowly bro we are not flash
Hey Bro! I really enjoyed this video! but a little slower is better
@SEAN MORGAN I saw It... But I mean this video is too fast
@@rickmarques10 thats the point
Hubertism at its finest.
WHATT
Lol
I didn't understand anything
You skip over the shader element, and that makes this entirely useless since I can't do that on my own. Darn.
Why can't anybody on this planet just sell a file with water in it jesus christ
Yikes. Everything about this is OK BOOMER :( There's only one Ian Hubert. Whimsy can't be faked. Just be yourself, Dylan. You have so much Blender knowledge to teach us. If you must chase the latest trends, do it your way.
Too fast, I can't follow.
Way too fast.
WOW...
looks terrible
HAHAHAHA, repeated that tens of times!! 😂
