Fun fact: during development of Clash At Demonhead the shopkeeper is modeled after one of the developers. His daughter was born during production and after going to the shop as a tribute to her she was inserted in! That's just so totally awesome!
As a person who lives in Agra (city of the Taj Mahal) I can confirm that it's really atlantis over here, as I'm writing this comment from 50ft under the wodor Atlantis actually really exists but people just have been looking for it in the wrong places all this time
This was a good list with some games I haven't heard mentioned before aside from Shatterhand.....I have seen that mentioned, but the rest are new games that sound interesting.
Before i even clicked on the video i was thinking, Archon better be on this video. And damn here it is. Great game, definitely a hidden gem. The gameplay still holds up too, a mix of chess with combat. The only other hidden gem for the NES that i think still holds up is Kickle Cubicle.
Had Shadow of the Ninja and loved it. We used to rent Archon all the time but we had an old C64 and I remember it being better on there, or maybe I'm wrong, it was a long time ago.
Oh eff yeah. I made my dad buy Clash at Demonhead at KB Toys way back lol. I liked the box art and it was on some deep discount sale for like 15 bucks. It was so much fun
I played the hell out of Archon on the Commodore 64, though I've never played the NES version. I've always wanted to get my hands on Shatterhand, but the carts are a little on the pricey side; I already have about $7300 in NES and SNES games in my collection anyway, so maybe one of these days I'll sack up and get it. After all, what's another $70-80 at this point, lmao.
I'm so glad my dad bought Shatterhand AND Vice Project Doom because of the cover art. Unfortunately, he also rented Ninja Scroll when I was too young to see one of the 8 Devils of Jurai raping the female ninja. My mom did not like that.
@@CaptainJack1 oh shit that's what's up congrats my dude. I will be doing my own youtube soon and I'll be sure to give you biggups. Also, since I'm number 4k what do I win 👀😂🤣
ive seen dozens of nes hidden gem vids or articles from dozens of different on line posters the best hidden gem of them all never ever gets mentioned, like my friends and i were the only ones to ever actually play it. it supports up to 8 human players!! there are no other games even remotely like it!! NOBUNAGA's AMBITION discover it yo.
dont know why im getting these in my feed, i dont give a guano about hidden gems that have those kind of graphics, we all need to move on and talk about the current state of modern videogaming and how the graphics are superior but theres no substance to it👍 cheers
I vehemently disagree with your completely wrong and utterly uninformed, uncalled for, objectively incorrect jab at New Super Mario Bros Wii. Slammed the dislike button over that.

Finally, a hidden gem video without Ninja Gaiden.
We have come so far…
LMAO
Not sure how anyone would call that one hidden when just about everyone who picked up a NES controller has heard of it.
Clash at Demonhead was always one of my favorites, Tom Guycott! Shatterhand and Vice: Project Doom are both my favorite platformers
Shatter Hand is easily in my top 5 favorite NES games. The game is sick!!
I recommend the Japanese version Solbrain instead of Shatterhand, there's a level we didn't even get in our version.

Another great video Captain Jack! Keep up the good work!

So: the “Star of David” is actually a pentacle- a talisman used in magic rituals for centuries. Fits with the “Demonhead” theme!
Sqoon is a new one to me. Subbed. Thanks!
Wowa``` you really dig out some treasures... Thanks.. Someday i will play them..
One very underrated NES game is Vice Project Doom. Ever played it?
It's in the intro for a brief second and yes I have. Probably will include it in a sequel video.
Great list

I wish there were more games like Archon
@@CaptainJack1 Castle Quest for Gameboy is similar, sorta. Chess strategy with monsters as the pieces.
Had Shadow of the Ninja and loved it. We used to rent Archon all the time but we had an old C64 and I remember it being better on there, or maybe I'm wrong, it was a long time ago.
Clash at Demonhead.. {insert Scott Pilgrim vs. the World pun here}
Oh eff yeah.

Good video bro I normally don't say that. The only game I knew of was shatterhand. I def subbed 👍🤙
Thank you! Looks like you're the 4,000th subscriber!

Congratulations! You won a thumbs up from me, subscriber #1325! (Veiw in 4k for maximum effect)
Archon rules!
Crystalis.
No love for Powerblade?!
I get Shatterhand and Power Blade confused.
shatterhand is the same batman game lol
nice Towers joke. It's never too soon. ;)
Hope I didn't alienate any of my older viewers with that one! It's definitely a generational thing :)
So shattered hand is just Joe star from Jojo ... understandable best game 10/10
Basically yeah, it's like being Jonathan or Kenshiro
nes golf.
can we still spot "hidden gems" in 2023?
You said Steam Punk when you clearly meant Cyber Punk.
Shatterhand doesn't look the least bit steampunk. do you mean cyberpunk?
Uh yes oops
les fuckin goooo

Yeah but lota new games are boring as hell too. Ill beat once and never play em again. Nes games im still playing 30 years later
