Thanks for including my game the Trial of Kharzoid! The footage is from a really old demo, I solved a lot of the slowdown problem and the skull is moving way faster now. The other games look great too! 2024 will be an awesome year for homebrew NES game lovers.
Is the Trial of Kharzoid finished ROM going to be compatible with the oryNES paddle controller that was bundled with Arkanoid? If not could you please at least think about it for a future update or sequel?
@@CannabisKiddThe problem is that I use more than one paddle, sometimes up to 5 paddles in one level! It would be impossible to control them with a single arkanoid controller. When this dude said.... "NES Hard" that gave me the flash back of the 1980's when I was a 8 or 9 years old playing the NES and to be honest the NES was the reason I was turned off by video games. Fast forward into 1999 and the Sega Dreamcast came on the scene, and just wow.... games that I could actually finish. Later on when the Playstation 2 came out same thing... games I could get past the second levels on. I'll chalk up the NES or SEGA The Master System to the Arcade Era because arcade games were just quarter munching money machines, and the only actual game I ever beat at the arcade (on a single quarter no less) was Golden Axe. It's wonderful having emulation for arcade games because now all you have to do is push a button for a "quarter" to continue your game, and what the crap man there are arcade emulations I've played where I was mashing the "Quarter Button" constantly. Good games but just a BIG FAT RIP OFF at the arcades back in the day, but uh... I guess... that was the point????
Many people dig the difficulty of NES games. Many were frustrating and many pissed some off but I wouldn’t say it went as far as “turning you off” from video games altogether. Point is, NES was a challenge and because of it got your brain to focus and be patient and strategize and use your actual brain for problem solving. It was very rewarding when you actually beat a game on the NES despite the endings. Because some were good and some were bad and had no merit. But the good ones were worth it especially to resolve a specific story. And the drive to finish it was the point of it being hard to get to that ending and sense of accomplishment.
