    Che Guvara, still stuck in a nightmare where his face is sold on merchandise by the capitalists that saw to his demise. Game looks fantastic compared to the other overhead run and guns on the system.

    The biggest negative I can say about Little Samson is the price it goes for.

    Little Samson is so good. I played it for the first time yesterday and I can't believe it, I grew up playing SNES and Sega Genesis, and this game alone kicks 90% of the games in those system's butts in gameplay.
    I can't believe I had never heard of it before and that it didn't get sequels, truly a wtf thing.

    My two biggest hidden gems are NES Open and Space Shuttle Project. I loved both of those and I never see them mentioned.
    NES Open especially was the best golf game Nintendo ever made - I don't even like golf and I loved it.

    Something great about Vice is it being available on the Nintendo switch online service, so that's an easy (legal) way to give it a try.
    Good video. Can't wait for part 3 where I hope you talk about remaining system jewels like Kick Master, GI Joe (the first one) and Mr. Gimmick among others 🙂

    Maybe it’s not such a hidden gem, but “Destiny of an Emperor” is an all timer for the NES.

    OMG after all these years you just gave the perfect description of what the NES port of Guerilla War is...Bombastic! What people may not know is that many of SNK's early NES ports like Ikari Warriors and Athena were actually done under contract by developer Micronics. But by 1987 they decided to be more hands on and start making the ports themselves and it shows with 1988/1989 titles like Guerilla War, POW, and Touchdown Fever. I'm not sure about Jackal being a hidden gem per say but then again games like that and Rush 'n Attack gets overshadowed by other Konami classics like Castlevania and Contra. Btw Jackal was also released on the Famicom Disk System. It's the same game but I think it's probably an earlier version because the entire first level is missing and all the cut scenes except for the ending are gone. Great list so far! 😃

    I played the _heck_ out of Guerrilla War in the 80's and I gotta add that player 2 controls Fidel Castro.
    Also, Guerrilla War has an unlimited continues code. Just hold A and B and press start on the continue screen and you can make it to the end every time.

    I had Guerrilla War. Was always a fun time.
    Have you covered Monster Party yet ? Don't know if It can quite be considered a hidden gem but It's definitely unique.
    Also look into Ufouria. It was only released in Europe but It's made by Sunsoft when they were only making bangers on the NES. It's a cute metroidvania title.

    Any chance for best SNES homebrew?

    • @CaptainJack1
      @CaptainJack1  Рік тому

      I've looked into it but it's going to be hard to scrap together games, most of the homebrew games for the Super Nintendo are also released on the Genesis. The Super Nintendo doesn't have homebrew exclusives unlike the Genesis.

    • @Gatorade69
      @Gatorade69 3 місяці тому

      @@CaptainJack1 Yeah the Genesis is easier to program for because the CPU that it has (Motorola 68000) was literally used in almost everything including Capcom Arcade boards, Neo Geo, early Apple computers, Atari Jaguar, etc.

    I discovered Guerrilla War the past year while looking for some funny and simple games for my nephew to play and he loved it. I remember doing research on it and being surprised that they really made a Che Guevara game (btw, if I'm not wrong P2 is Fidel Castro). Look, I am argentinian and El Che is a pretty controversial figure here in his homeland. For me it was like seeing Super Hitler's Adventure. Weird shit.
