he mentioned his sister and it made me think, is his entire family full of elegant vampires with extensive vocabularies as well or are they like the average person?
i have thought that it is utterly weird that your comment has two thousand and five hundred likes but there were no replies so here i am dropping this comment.

“Certainly if you’ve been given a nose as large as mine, you should surely have a very acute sense of smell.” JOHN’S DRY HUMOR IS REALLY UP MY ALLEY! Hahahaha.
*In John's Voice* In today's fillum I will be consuming this yeast infused carb as to fulfill my daily requirements for nourishment. *Chews bread* Ah this bread goes down my throat quite seamlessly. I shall now consume some water to quench my thirst.
John finds a way to make literally anything fascinating. It’s not just his voice, he is obviously very intelligent and very knowledgeable. I guess thousands of years of immortality let’s you learn a lot of things
Being a Fine Art restorer (specialised in ceramic, though I can also work with glass and ivory), I find this video perfect, and I just love how you commented on the safety measures to follow because of the chemicals. That is an important piece of advice!
I literally do not know why I feel such a need to watch your films. I do not wear make up, nor am I lackering any furniture, yet I find you absolutely fascinating. You are my guilty pleasure, and if I use seamlessnes in a sentence I can not help but Smirk just a little.
When I was pregnant with my 10 year old, my grandfather gave me his mother's rocking chair and my dad completely refinished it in cherry to go with my daughter's crib. Later, I had also inherited my grandmother's mother's folding rocking chair from the early 1920s. She was only 4'11" and it was made for her, so it was little, but in only 5'1" so it's The perfect size. The fabric wasn't in good shape and one leg was broken in half, so I left it with my parents when I was moving between apartments and kind of forgot they even had it. That Christmas, they gave it back. My dad had restored all of the wood and fixed the break. You couldn't even tell after he refinished it all! My mother redid the upholstery. It was just beautiful. I thought it was in my storage unit with my other furniture so my mind was extra blown. I still have both.
Do I ever go antiques shopping? No. Do I buy furniture? Not really. If I had bought old furniture would I lacquer it? Probably not. Do I want to learn or do I care about knowing how to lacquer? No way. Am I willing to listen to 20 minutes of John talking about furniture and how to lacquer just because his voice is heaven, and his pronunciation is everything that is right in this world, and I just think that whatever he says is crucial to my life? Hell yeahh!!!!
You might just be the most interesting person I’ve seen on UA-cam. I love listening to you. Honestly you could be talking about anything at all and I would still be in awe.
I think antiques are more well made. Well atleast the ones I’ve admired and have owned. I’m glad you’re giving us variety. John you could put up a “filum” of anything and I am mesmerized by you. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
2:50 definitely sounds like a vampires polite way of saying "Kids these centuries just don't appreciate craftsmanship like we did in the good ol' days!" but also, same
I have no need for restoring old furniture just yet, however, I still find myself watching good ol’ John because the voice this person has is so bloody relaxing. I could literally listen to John speak about spoons for 3 hours and still love every minute
I once made a ball of wood with my grandpa and he encarved my lucky number in it. I remember lacquering it so thickly I almost passed out from the fumes xD. After I filed it down it looked so elegant I decided It would be what I pass on to my children. Filing a sphere so it looks smooth was hell on earth it took me 4 days to make it even, (I eventually ended up with an almost smooth paper to have the finest grain ^^). Today I'm 20, it was 7 years ago but I'm still so proud of myself, It was the first time in my life I showed so much patience and effort on something, trully changed my mind. :D
John: "I'd like to present you with this make-up look I did earlier..." Also John: "I'd like to present you with this furniture I lacquered earlier..." Also John again: "I'd ALSO like to present you with this small village I hand crafted earlier too..."
Nicole Kennedy-Beaumont Incredibly sorry to hear of this issue for you.... maybe we could suggest some other filums for you until another is presented!...
Stacey Sabot lol😂 I'll be far too busy shopping to acquire everything that is required to lacquer my furniture so it is seamless, all whilst awaiting for John to upload part 2 of this fil'um and tutorial. But I do sincerely have a deep appreciation for your supportive concern. It has had a profound affect on my ability to deal with the emotions that often do come as a result of one's failures. Accepting ones shortcomings is a natural and necessary task in the growth of one's being. I bid to you a marvelous weekend and do take care xx
Ok John, you have such a fascinating and engaging persona that I really feel you could do an entire lifestyle series. People would be interested in anything that you do. I see talks on more of this -furniture, but also shopping with John, cooking with John, decorating, collecting, music, literally anything. Just sharing your unique and interesting world with a fan base that will continue to increase. I’m so glad to see you doing master classes, please consider expanding your range of topics, I see so many exciting possibilities for you. Our world needs your grace and sophistication now more than ever. Bless you.
He is a genius. He could come across easily as an Ice Queen but the self depreciating humor and his acceptance of his flaws and willingness to allow us to see them makes him seamless.
If he isn't the most gorgeous androgynous person I've ever seen in my entire life then I'm not turning lesbian or bi curious of whatever humdrum labeling you wanna come up with. Like, he seriously needs to start narrating books or the news just so I can hear his voice everyday or at least see that gorgeous face light up the daily news. I guess I will settle for youtube and stalking his IG 😍
You are helping me get back to refinement and are such a blessing. What an amazing looking piece of furniture. You have taken me back to my childhood because my Great Great Grandfather(from Cullen) was a carpenter and built many beautiful pieces of antiques for Hotels and for their own home. Thank you so very much for this as I am so keen to learn what my Great Great Grandfather did. I too think it's very sad that there are so many sacred antiques just thrown either to 2nd hand shop's or forgotten about. I myself love the antique dresser I have and my drawers. I'm loving your tutorial because I'm on the lookout for certain pieces then try and do the lacquer process you have shown. I would absolutely love love love to see your own works of art..that would be such a special treat. With love and Kindest regards Luna..Namaste ❤🙏🌹
Not sure if you'll see my comments John, but I'll ramble on anyway. I have the same style. Very much into more detailed, ornate, embellished, antique style things...not just furniture, but pretty much anything. I refurbished a TV cabinet that I bought last year, it's solid quality wood and the woman I bought it from considered herself a furniture restorer. She had spray painted it black and blue and had these god awful country style metal stars nailed to the cabinet doors. I patiently and lovingly sanded it down completely, laquered it, painted the doors and inside, and painted the center and corners of the doors using a beautiful medallion stencil. It looks completely different now. It was the first time I'd redone a piece of furniture and I absolutely loved it. It was definitely a labor of love and something I'm excited to do again.
As a new viewer this is just about the last thing I'd ever expected to see on Mr. Maclean's channel, won't underestimate him again. When I first saw this title I thought it was about nail polish, now I'm more intrigued rather than just amused by him.He effected this change in outlook seamlessly, sorry I just had to say that.
I'm never going to restore or refurbish furniture in my life, but I stayed for the memorizingly articulate speech. On the positive side of things, I now know copious amount about lacquer.
Oh, a man of my own heart. I enjoy makeup, furniture and home restoration, anything artistic such as paintings and drawings or sculptures... I enjoy things a person can find beauty in. I also enjoy gardening and love animals. You come off as educated, refined and as someone who enjoys making things lovely/lovelier. I would very much enjoy a future film about the process of epoxy coating the top of the table! I could probably watch you in films doing or talking about nearly anything, but I enjoy films or instructional demonstrations on fixing or restoring items. This was wonderful 💕
Has anyone else noticed other UA-camrs incorporating “seamlessness” and other distinctly John words and phrases into their content? I wonder if it’s intentional, or if simply watching his films has had an effect?
Heather Elzinga YES..Tati (@glamlifeguru) has done it multiple times recently..every time I hear it it makes me angry that she is stealing from Lord Maclean
People will always bite iconic personalities/idiosyncrasies. I mean, who doesn't want to be as seamless and refined as Lord Maclean? It's pretty clear that John is authentic to his own expression and style, so no one would think that he is the vernacular thief. Those who copy are either doing it as a loving homage, or they will have to live knowing that they are unoriginal and engaging in the type of trend-following that John himself despises.
John lifting the table with only one hand proves he's a vampire
Karin A ahahaha
lmao
It’s due to what it’s made of. A true antique would be made of a heavier, sturdier wood made to last decades.
he mentioned his sister and it made me think, is his entire family full of elegant vampires with extensive vocabularies as well or are they like the average person?
jerrey n lmao me too I thought he didn’t have family
isn’t he god?

John: 'Lacquer can be toxic to human beings'
Also John: (not human, is immortal) *sniffs it*
Lord Maclean could make a 45 minute tutorial on quantum physics and I'll still stop everything to come and watch it.
wow, sign me up for this!
IN today's filum, we will be discussing how the universe appears to operate quite SEAMLESSLY 😂🤣

immortality gives you a lot of time to learn all about lacquer.
LOL
I pressed play and all the furniture in my house suddenly got 200% more shiny and clean.

Very accurate answers

Why the frick am I actually loving watching a immortal lord lacquer a table?
indeed; he is so many things i never knew i needed in my life. i am also mystified.
Coz he rocks, and you know it
Seems the heart of a renaissance man beats within the chest of John Maclean.
I'd say he somewhat belongs to the Parnasse movement which insists on the necessity of beauty
He was alive then. He is around 2024 years old
I generaly don't apreciate the LGBTQ+ mouvement because i can't relate with their view on morality but i absolutly love this guy. He is the most sensible "different" person i have ever heard.
TheMelopeus, look for his Q&A videos. He doesn’t claim any affiliation. He is The Man!

Nice save, calling this person a person 😂
He does. I love listening to John speak. He reminds me so much of my late brother. :)
