I want to thank you for your tutorial ...I never thought I could do slippers and with your you tube I am now on my 3rd pair for my grand children... You totally rock
thank you the pattern, my grandmother use to make me slippers every christmas and when she past away i didnt have anyone to make me any and i couldnt make them . this pattern is so simple now i will be making them for my family.
I thoroughly enjoyed following along with you on this slipper tutorial. I do have a suggestion though, if you don't mind. Through my years of knitting socks I discovered early on that if you knit one sock at a time that 2nd sock NEVER matches the first one. Is there a cure for this strange phenomenon? Of course! Simply knit both socks at the same time. Works everytime! Now, since I'm knitting my very first pair of slippers...I'm not kidding, lol...I can only guess that the same phenom could occur as with the socks. So while I stitched right along with you, I simply cast on both slippers onto the same needle and used a separate ball of yarn for each. At the end of your video I have a finished PAIR of slippers instead of just one slipper, and they are a perfect match! Well, time for me to get busy making another pair. I hope you don't mind my putting in my 2 cents worth. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to create this video. I haven't yet looked at your others...I've been busy following you with this pair of slippers...but I promise I will browse through them soon. Lastly, I would like to wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving. Cya!
+Ann Scholl as a Canadian my thanksgiving was in October, but I'll gladly accept your belated warm wishes. About the sock thing... the way I've made sure they're the same is to write down how many rows and stitches. Ie how many rows for the heel, how many stitches I picked up along the heel flap to form the foot. Having a smartphone and putting it in your notes has saved me many a miscalculation. To make the slippers the same, if you follow the pattern for the same size it should work. But should doesn't always turn out that way as we've all realized. Your idea is ingenious btw. Happy knitting and I always enjoy the comments!
Hi, just wanted to know what do you put on the bottom of the finished slippers to protect the wool and to prevent the slippers from being slippery when wearing them?
Janis, I watched your video for the dishcloth as well as this one, and I wanted to ask you if the cable cast on was your preferred method. I was wondering if possibly the long tail cast on would work better for this project
Hi again I was wondering when we do row 1 and 2 for the first time, then we need to do row 1 and 2 (48) rows in total. Is it row 1 is (1) row 2 (2), row 1( 3), row 2 (4) or row 1 and 2 is (1) I just wanted to make sure that I don't make any mistake. Thank you for your help.
Use the yarn from the ball. The video shows where to start picking up the stitches. I have another video that may help showing it again for another pattern I have www.kweenbee.ca/index.php/picking-up-stitches-for-the-heel-and-making-the-cuff/

I have the pattern written out in full on my blog here: kweenbee-and-me.blogspot.ca/2011/09/how-to-knit-pair-of-slippers.html. Depending on the size you're making, there will be more stitches and more rows. It will be clearer if you follow the patterns.
I’ve sold lots over the years and never got a complaint. Doubling up is always good but this is a pattern for new knitters and I didn’t want to make it any more complicated than necessary.
You can read the entire ad supported version of the pattern online. Scroll down the webpage while on your phone or tablet as you knit. Printing the webpage is blocked. If you want to download and print you’ll need to purchase it from one of the links provided. It’s very reasonably priced at $2.99 USD to print.

When I click the links from the video on my phone I go directly to my blog or the website. Not sure why there would be ads as I've only monetized at the beginning and end of the video. I do have ads on my site and blog but I don't have any pop up ones. I hate them as much as everyone else. Weird.
I am confused my foot looks a lot longer then yours doe. how are you counting the foot rows. you said two rows so I am counting every two rows should I have divided that in half.? so when you are finished with the first part it should be a total of twelve rows with the knit and the purl row or 24 rows?
+Leslie Flores a before picture would be yarn and needles which I did show. If you want to see the finished product you can see it over on my blog where the pattern is kweenbee-and-me.blogspot.ca/2011/09/how-to-knit-pair-of-slippers.html

Hi Janis, that blue drink looks so tasty!cheers, thank you for the video!
Will this work on crocheted projects?
??? This is knitting. It’s a totally different craft.
Another version to try out. Thanks for posting. 👍

Very nice. It was really fun watching.
Vert nicely explained . Thanks .
Hi there I was wondering if I can knit your slippers with phentex yarn?
+Julie Valliere as long as the gauge remains the same, it should work. You may need to use a different sized needles depending on the thickness.
When I'm adding the stiches for the heel. What yarn am i suppose to be using? The tail ?? I'm confused

i don't really understand how to increase the size... do i just increase the number of rows i knit?

My rows keep getting longer because every time I do a purl stitch it adds an extra stitch. I'm clearly doing something wrong but I can't figure it out
TRINAD18 when you turn you wrap the working yarn around the left needle behind the first stitch
Si can't download your free pattern! I have a mini IPad! I would like to make it for adult size!

I have never seen anyone move the yarn back on the purl stitch before taking it off the needle.
I was just thinking the same thing
Yo quiero aprender
Why do you finish the row then start new rows , seems like your making more work, and double your work?
I don’t think I understand your question. What is the alternative to ending and starting new rows???
