Praise from India. Beautiful simple pattern. I saved it and will knit a pair of soft socks for my 96 years old mother. Her feet feel so cold during winter. Hope they will give her warmth. 🙏
This pattern is amazing!!! Literally just finished making a pair as my first ever knitting project and I have to say they fit beautifully and I’m so happy with them. Thank you so much 💚🌟😁
I've basically been using my niece as a test subject to practice knitting (I'm new here) and your patterns are so simple and fun!!! I've made her a hat, the turban style headband, and now some socks all out of the same skein of yarn! Thank you for making some of your tutorials accessible to newbies!!
Tiny version for my great grand daughter who is being born today. Size 4 needles. Cast on 26/ knit until 8” long. Knit 2. Pearl two. Fold over top edge and embellish with complimentary yard woven around top edge to allow for bow.
for beginners, dont just rely on the measurements given. measure the foot of whoever will be wearing the socks by wrapping a measuring tape around the widest part of the heel+ankle. this is how wide the sock will need to stretch to, i had to increase my socks width to 8 inches unstretched, or 15 inches fully stretched. you can also increase or decrease the length to make the socks as tall as you want.
I have been learning to knit to honor my great-aunt who knit rainbow colored socks when I was a kid. Likely using the brightest red heart super saver variegated colors she could find. I’ve been put off by socks so far as they look complicated, especially the heal. These are perfect for a beginner like me. Finally, after decades of wishing I could knit, and a few months of trying, I feel like I can try socks! You have brought a ray of sunshine to my day. These remind me of the wonderful winter holidays spent with my grandparents & my great-aunt. Putting on those rainbow socks always cheered me up. I’d use two pairs to fit into my grandmother’s ski shoes & ice skates & they’d keep me so warm in those cold winters of upstate NY. Thank you for helping me honor someone I love. Thanks for the easy & quick tutorial & blog post. Have a safe & joyful holiday season. Blessed be.
I’m so excited to make these socks! I’m just learning to knit after crocheting for almost 5 months. I absolutely love knitting, and I really wanna get better and make new projects. Thank you so much!!
I’ve been knitting a few years and so far only managed scarves and patchwork blankets (great way to practice different patterns!) as I’m a little intimidated by anything else so this was a brilliant way to try something new. I’ve cocked up the sewing a little, it doesn’t blend in well but I still love them! I’ve used thicker yarn and they’re so warm and comfortable, perfect during this cold snap (and fuel crisis 😬). Thank you for the tutorial!
I was so intimidated by all the knitting techniques, but after your tutorial, I'm not scared anymore. Thank you! It looks great :) Can't wait to try it out!
Editing problem... The beginning of this knitting "tutorial" actually starts at approximately 5:20. Thanks for sharing! I purchased the pattern from Ribblr, but had trouble downloading. This helps tremendously!
I’ve been stuck on knitting scarfs and blankets and I’m so excited to say I’m now confident to try socks !! I’ve been looking for a easy to follow pattern and this is it 🥰🤗
I can’t wait to try this!! And I absolutely LOVE how you skipped to the end. There are so many tutorials I’ve checked out where it starts with casting on, knitting, and purling, so you have to skip ahead to find the actual pattern. Much appreciated!!
I'm a beginner knitter so I usually skip to the end to see what the situation looks like and if im capable of doing it so the fact that you showed the end at the beginning was extremely helpful for me you kept it simple yet descriptive enough for me to understand I am definitely going to try this out !!! Thank you :)
Oh this is amazing. I crochet, but have been wanting to learn how to knit, and I’ve been trying to understand the pearl stitch for forever, I just couldn’t wrap my head around it but you did it so clearly that I understand. I’m so excited to try these!!
Thank you so much for this pattern. You have made knitting a pair of socks look very easy and doable. Very excited to see how my pair turns out. Bless you!
These are so great! I'm going to make a bunch of these for my housemates since it gets so bitterly cold this time of year for us. Thank you for sharing! ♥
Total beginner here, I'm decent at crochet but trying to broaden my horizons. Thanks for the tutorial, I'm happy to have found something easy and wearable.
This is great pattern. Thanks so much for teaching this one. Can’t wait to finish my first pair. Will be making them for Christmas for my granddaughters. Thank you so much again. God bless you.
Thanks for the good tutorial. I worked this up in some chunky alpaca yarn I got recently, and since I've got longer feet (women 9.5) I made them 20" long. They are very comfy! Thanks again.🧶🌺
Well I've almost finished the first sock I've done it in a chunky variegated wool which is mustard grey &cream this was wool left over from a sleeveless jacket I'd made so very pleased at how easy these were to knit
Thank you so much for the tutorial!!! We have recently redone the floors at home and have decided that we wouldn’t be wearing our “outside shoes” inside!!! Seeing as it’s winter in South Africa, I wanted to knit some moccasins for everyone to wear instead of our clinical rubber shoes!!! This has been so helpful!!! Unfortunately I have 4mm and 2mm knitting needles so I’ll have to be casting on so many stitches and making a whole lot of rows but I’m sure that I will have fun and that it would be amazing ❤
Thank you so much for this video. I have been knitting for years but I had a brain hemorrhage and it damaged my eye sight in one eye. I can’t make heels right now well until I vision improves. I was able to make these socks with no problem! 😊
Excellent! These will be perfect for me to bang out some quick slipper socks for our Elders waiting to get into long term care whos feet are always cold at the hospital!
I know I am so late but thank you!!! I am quite young and don't have a lot of time after school to knit and crochet. This pattern is going so far so good and cant wait for the final product
omg i’m off to make these i’m so excited i’m house bound so have no worry’s about many things to do with socks just a as long as they keep my feet cozy 🧶🧶🧶
Very helpful! Also, if you change the dimensions; for example if you make it a shorter length it would work as a baby hat or if you make it half as wide and also shorter it would make some baby mittens!!
Namaste 🙏. Woooooooow what a beautiful socks you knitted! Thank you so much. I will surely try this for my daughter. It's so simple for the beginners. The saved this video. From Bangalore, India.
I’m going to the yarn shop in the morning. I have to have opulent of pairs of these. One to wash one to wear. Thank you so much Sweetie for sharing your fantastic pattern with us. God Bless. ❤️ 🇨🇦
Omg! I'm so excited to try this out!! After checking out different sock tutorials before I had just decided to stick to scarfs (I'm a beginner) but after watching the flat hat tutorial and know this I'm SO excited and feel confident that I can manage this. Thank you so much for sharing!! 🙌💜
Super cool! I’m going to have a go at making some of these. In winter I wear a lot of “BIG” fluffy socks as my feet get cold very easily (I’m anaemic) I am thankful I found this thank you so much for sharing. If you have any other tutorials for easy knitting socks/slippers please share or leave me some links to follow. 🙏🏻 ☺️
Love this pattern! I have lymph edema which makes my feet swell making finding socks a nightmare! But this winter I have a cosy pair of socks thanks to you!!! I made mine on size 13 needles with a 2x2 rib of 30 stitches. They stay on just fine without cutting off my circulation. :)
Thankyou I also have lymph odema and Lipo odema, my mum has renal problems and always has to be on water pills and in compression. She cannot get socks either, so going to try your measure and stitch :)
@@Hypohair I hope they fit! If not try going up or down a needle size. You could also try a 1x1 rib stitch. My next set I am doing a 2 inch cuff with rib and stockinette with the rest of the body.
I just finished 2 pairs in purple yarn and I absolutely love them! Very nice and cozy when it’s getting colder and I just love wearing socks when I’m indoor. Thank you so much for the tutorial 🙏🏻❤️
When you watch the first part you feel so intimated but it is actually so much simpler than it looks! Also do you have a video for how to do a purl stitch?
Well how cute ❤️ I don’t have Hygge but I do have Caron Latte Cakes it’s a wt 5 and the eyelash type yarn so I think it would be a good substitute. I’m more of a crochet person but I do know how to knit but have been scared to try socks, this would be perfect to try and make a super cute Christmas gift
Looks like I could wear them as socks in shoes. I've been wanting to make wool socks, with no elastic, but am older, and a complete novice at knitting. I find it fun, though. Going to try them.
Thank you soooooo much for this video! Sweet and short, but also very detailed!! Shakespeare said something along the lines :Brevity is the soul of wit. And you have wit! Thank you so much again! :) (Subscribed!!)
