I like you the best! You explain so simply and very softly without repeating!
Thanks, to the point. Loved watching.
I looked at a lot of patterns for simple knitted slippers tonight. I didn't like any of them until I found this one. Your instructions are very easy to follow and I like the pattern and shape when finished. Thank you so much. I was beginning to think I just wanted something to easy! Now I can start knitting with confidence.
I am going to make these. When I get to the toe, I think I'll try to knit it in the round. Thanks for sharing. This is awesome!
Thanks so much for teaching us how to make these slippers. Nice Christmas presents or I think I might make a bunch in different sizes and put them in a basket at the front door for people coming to visit. Thanks again 💖
Thank you for your great video ! I made this slippers 50 years ago when I was 15 years old . Thank you for inspiring me to make them again .
Beautiful, well explained, very detailed... I’m so exited to make these and confident thanks to your video thanks!!!
Oh, just what I was looking for! :) great!
Joanesweb you are AWESOME!
This is the pattern I've been waiting for
Thank you for a slipper pattern that is easy to make up.
It being winter here in Australia have made sone extras....along with your cable cowl neckwarmers and beanies to drop off to our local homeless mens shelter.
How lovely. Thank you for watching and for your lovely actions
Fantastic thank😊
Thank you for the pattern. I've made this years ago but am looking forward to making them again
Miss Joanne you are putting your hands in front of your work, you cant see how it comes togther. You know when you grade your work , you hold it up to take agood look at what you have done. Can you let us see how the foot was knitted to the top of the work. Its good and lovely. Thank you.
very nice. amazing
Wow
Unfortunal the sizing I not for danish feets 🤣 Made mine in medium, but i'm a women big feets aparently. Love the pattern
Thanks, My wife loves it
Hi Joanne, why is it that your ribbing starts with k2 then a p1 then k1,p1 to the last 2 and end with k2? Same with 2nd row only p2 then k1, and p1k1 to the end with p2 in the end? I usually just start with k1,p2 all the way but I know it's divided by 2 so I add or remove a stitch? I'm sure you have a good reason is it the finished look?
It gives it a nice finish. That's all.
@@JoannesWeb thank you that's what I thought...great video.
Love your patterns but would be so much easier if you put English sizes and wool weight etc xx
What size would I do for a 9 year old please?
Medium small. Please measure the foot and calculate about 3" for toe. The rest is garter with the knit edges stitches. Or use the same instructions with smaller needles.
Hi lady, can I double the yarn on these? If I do, how many stitches would I add all together for about a womens size 7 1/2?
Great tutorial, thank you. May I ask though why do you seem to prefer knitting flat rather than in the round which to me is more efficient than having to seam the knitting?
These slippers are for beginners. But for other projects, I do use circular needles, 2 circular needles and double pointed needles.
Great tutorial, thank you very much , I am French and I live in France sorry for my bad English. I would like to make them longer about 15 centimeters above the ankle. How must I do that ? Or do have to pick up all the stitches when the slipper is finished with a circular needle and knit in round until the length I want . Thank you for your answer. Many kind greetings from Marie in Brittany France near the Atlantic Ocean 💐🌞💐
Bonjour, Maria. Yes, if you want them longer, you would have to pick-up stitches and make ribbing, up (Knit 2, purl 2). Here is the link to another slippers instructions. These are tall. ua-cam.com/video/KsYCPSv_uHM/v-deo.html
@@JoannesWeb thank you very much 💐💐💐💐💐
Thank you for this tutorial. This looks so easy. Can you do this on straight needles? I have not used circular needles but would love to try something other than scarves and hats.
These are done with straight needles. The reason I use circular is because they click too much on the table when I film.

We have several fingerless gloves. Please check them out.
Medium size using 6ply wool. Which number needled to be used?
The yarn you use will tell you what needles to use for better results.
I would like to knit slippers for someone who has size 13 feet. How many stitches do i cast on for xl??
Knit more rows, until 3/4 length. Then do ribbing.
thank you. can i use chunky yarn?
Yes, absolutely, just make sure you use less stitches and rows.
@@JoannesWeb thank you
I made three, four pairs. My friends are happy. I wanted to know about size 4and 6 how many stitches are required 🙏🙏
I don't believe it makes that much difference. Maybe changing the needle size can.
So nice ! I have a question do you knit first and last stitch? Yours look very neat and even with little knots . Thanks 🙏
Yes. I do knit the first and last stitches. Unless stated in a pattern, it's a good idea to do so.
I am really confused about this pattern.. The guage in description shows 17 stitches = 4" small (5,6) etc for medium and large.. What is that?? I couldn't figure out how much stitches to cast on for 4mm needle size using lace thin yarn.. Foot size is medium
Thanks for sharing 💫🌷👌🌹💫
I wonder if we added a layer of soft leather (gotten from the car department at walmart) if it would give a bit better traction on the bottom. Then again simply sowing a bit of leather to the bottom might be better replaced with a strip of wood to make slipper shoes.... ignore me I've been feeling oddly crafty lately and can't safely work with most yarns without getting a rash despite loving to knit.
I believe wood would be too hard on your foot. Leather would be nice!
@@JoannesWeb
I was actually thinking of the traditional wooden shoes from around the world (Getta - Asia, Dutch Wooden Clogs, etc.) when I mentioned wood but I do see your point. XD

For size 3/4,how much stiches are required
Knit until you have the length you need. It's easy to measure with this pattern.
I have already done and everybody likes it 😀

Please make a swatch to see how many stitches you have per inch. Then you'll know, depending on the size.
