    I’ve had a multi floor origin for five years. Never cleaned the poor thing! Always wanted to but never knew where everything was at. Thanks to your video I can now fix things the way they’re supposed to be. I’ve looked all over the Internet and this is the only video I found that shows the original multi floor origin being torn down and where the filters are located in such. Thank you! Now I will finally have my back and back to its original operating state.

    I want to thank you so much for this video. Our vacuum suddenly stopped sucking anything up. We decided to use your video to take things apart and investigate and realized that our vacuum had never been cleaned despite weekly use for 5 years. To say it was matted and disgusting is an understatement. Thank you so much for this video. The vacuum runs perfectly now!

    What a legend, I vacuumed chunks of foam from a foam football my dog chewed up, my vacuum overheated and wouldn’t start, through the time it had to cool down and taking apart the vacuum I cleaned the years of hair off that brush and cleaned the filter and it works good as new. Thank you👍

    I don't know why my comment got deleted years ago. It wasn't a bad comment at all. Anyways. Thank you very much for the tutorial. If you don't clean it with detail you get this "Dry Clean Steam press machine sound" while the vacuum is on. After 2 or 3 attempts ignoring that sound. I literally thought my Dyson was broken. But I got really lucky that the vacuum was able to turn on again after the detail cleaning. It's seriously way too much work for maintenance but you gotta do it.

      I have the multi-floor model with the yellow top like your first one. I decided to do a couple more things while I had it apart. The inner part that you take out from inside the clear canister (see ~ 6:40) turned out to have a ton of dust up inside it. I tried using a cloth over a chopstick to wipe out the sides, but then I realized I could just tap the whole thing on the floor and get most of that dust out.
      The other thing I did was that I ended up rinsing the clear canister under running water, while it was separated from the machine. That way I could get the inside of the trap door (that you open to let the dirt out) clean - it was caked with dust. I'll be sure that dries for a whole day because it has rubber gaskets that could harbor some water.

    I followed this and my old UP13 machine looked great. After four or five uses it seems to be holding on to the dirt everywhere. The rubber seals, the cyclone area. Is there something that I can use on it to make it squeaky clear or a product that might repel dust from sticking to the cyclone screen?

    What’s the best way to clean and disinfect all the attachments? Are they safe to use soap/detergent/ water on?

    • @NewParentsInTraining
      @NewParentsInTraining  4 роки тому +2

      I would say depends on which attachments are you talking about. I would say for the most attachments they should be okay to wash with water, they are basically hard plastic parts, especially the different tubings that came with the vacuum. I would be careful with the attachments that have brushes, you either wash them really well or just wipe them with disinfectants. Say if you used soapy water and the brushes are not thoroughly cleaned, then the next time you use it on any surfaces you might create soapiness where you don't want any. *be sure to let all the parts dry before usage, leave them dry at least overnight*

    • @RasTrey69
      @RasTrey69 4 роки тому +2

      New Parents in Training thank you. Spoke with dyson customer support and they said the same thing as well. Wiping the brushes with a Lysol wipe and letting them dry should work but not to submerge in soapy water. Thanks again.

  • @BeastMortThe
    @BeastMortThe 2 роки тому

    Great video but not 100% deep clean. You should have included how to dismantle the cyclone portion of the dustbin which builds up dust mega big time due to static charge during usage. I bought the special screw drivers required to take it apart and like to clean it once a year.
    That's 1of 2 faults I feel the Dyson has... they should have designed the cyclone section to be taken apart easier. And trying to use the hose without the vacuum either falling over or chasing after you a real pain in the neck.
    It's why I plan on picking up a Riccar Tandem Air Premium Pet upright bagged vacuum. Has duel motors, no cyclone to fiddle with and have to clean all the time and the hose can easily be used out to 15 feet without it tipping or chasing you.
