If all he ever did was play on APP recordings, that would have been more than enough. What a humble and unassuming artist he was. He left us with a treasure trove of beautiful, inspired performances. God Bless Ian.

I was privileged to meet Ian on a one to one meet up arranged by my colleague and friend Howard Williamson. He was a real gent and gave Howard and I a personal show of his mastery of the guitar. So unassuming and willing to give his take on my Fender Strat by playing and giving his critique on minor improvements which could be made. He always could relax at Howards as they had known each other since before Pilot days. It was a great day for me. Thank you Ian and you will be sadly missed

Wow his sense of timing on that first piece... Did he have a drum kit in his headphones???! Wow so locked in. And the second one also. I only knew of this guy from the wuthering heights solo which I always thought was masterful even though the notes are simple- now I can see why! This guy was amazing.
