Ian was a fabulous guitarist and should have had more recognition for his talent. The fact that I only found out about his death today, proves how underated he was. I've been raving about his solo's with Alan Parsons for many years and he will be sorely missed.
I knew Ian when he lived in Pilrig, Edinburgh, before he became famous. I remember singing Hank Williams' songs and Ian backing me on guitar one night at a party. He was around 15 at the time, I was about 17. Great memories! 🙂
I just found out today. I'm gutted. My favorite guitar player of all time. Ian is gone, but I'll be enjoying his playing until I'm gone. Such a gift that he had, and all of those wonderful recordings that we still have.
Top 3 guitarists of all time! Saw AP play live 3 times. Ian was on all 3 times! A fabulous sound he made & made alot of the AP songs great with his touch!! A true legend!!
Thanks Fazil for keeping this music and Ian's playing alive you are a master and have perfected playing these songs and I have watched everything you have produced here
Phrasing like Gilmour with the harmonic knowledge of Robben Ford.... One of the best ever....
His unique guitar sound! Always in our hearts
Ian is, and will be, sorely missed. RIP.

What a tone!! Loved Ian's playing with Pilot. RIP to a great master.
Candy Dulfer on sax is a nice bonus! Timeless footage of the greats.
Thank you so VERY MUCH for sharing the genius and artistry that was Ian Bairnson's life.
You're welcome.
Certainly one of the best guitarists that was never on the top guitarists list. Solid in every way.
No doubt!
The greatest guitarist of all time!
Well, technically no. But definitely massively underrated!
Thank you. A stellar talent. RIP

Alan Parsons said he was one of the best and that's good enough for me!
